The Influence of Teacher's Demographic and Sociological Characteristics and the Emotional Support of the Director and Co-worker on the Childcare Efficacy of Infant Teacher (영아반 교사의 인구사회학적 특성과 원장과 동료교사의 정서적 지지가 보육효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of teachers' demographic and sociological characteristics and the emotional support of the director and co-worker on the childcare efficacy of infant teachers. Methods: In this study, 169 Infant teachers of childcare centers have participated, where are located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do Areas. The data was analyzed by using t-test and one way ANOVA to confirm the differences among groups, and also correlations analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed to analyze the interrelationship between variables and their effects. Results: Study outcome according to study subjects is as follows. First, we found a statistically meaningful difference in marital status and career by the differences of childcare efficacy depending on demographic and sociological characteristics of infant teachers. Second, childcare efficacy of infant teachers showed the most evident correlationship with co-workers support followed by the director's support. Third, the data also revealed that childcare efficacy of infant teachers was influenced by co-workers' support, their careers, marital status and their directors' support in order. Conclusion/Implications: In conclusion, higher levels of childcare efficacy were shown by the experienced and married early childhood teachers and the emotional support of co-workers has the greatest influence on their childcare efficacy.

The Effects of Boards' and Directors' Characteristics on R&D Investment: In the Korean Context (이사회 및 이사의 특성이 기업의 연구개발투자에 미치는 영향: 한국기업을 중심으로)

  • This paper seeks to explore the effects of the board structure and director characteristics on the R&D investment of a company. The results from analyzing 95 Korean listed companies reveal that the directors' demographic characteristics substantially affect the R&D intensity. When the directors are younger, major in science or engineering, and have an experience of studying abroad, they tend to be supportive of R&D, thereby increasing the R&D expenditure. Particularly, the effects of insider directors are shown to be greater than those of outside directors, which implies that the Korean corporate boards are mainly operated by insiders. Furthermore, when the relative power of boards is greater than the management, the effects of inside directors, rather than overall directors, on R&D intensity are weakened.

  • This paper examines the correlations between user characteristics and their perferences for two selected features of Web-based OPAC systems. User characteristics identified in this study were age, gender, educational status, computer skills and OPAC experience. Usability features included interaction styles, character and image on screen, browsing and navigating style, screen layout, and ease of learning, whereas availability features attended to availability of information, quality of information and up-to-date information. Individual variables and features are described, and the correlation between the variables and the features are explored using Pearson's correlation coefficient(r). Although based on a small-scale sample survey, a considerably large number of statistically significant correlations were found between the users' characteristics and the selected evaluation features of interactive Web-based OPACs. From these observations, it seems to be suitable to recommend that system designers should make a more considered appraisal of the users' demographic characteristics in the design of the new generation of OPAC such as in user-tailored interactive Web-based OPAC systems.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact on job satisfaction of the chinese bank staff by judging their motivators and hygiene factors. To explore the regulation of demographic characteristics between motivators, hygiene factors and job satisfaction. In the banking organization through the use of various elements of motivation duties assigned to meet organizational objectives put forward in order to achieve an effective incentive scheme given. In summary the results of analysis, the impact on motivator and job satisfaction in the work itself the result of regression analysis, promotion and recognition of the growth and job satisfaction in order to affect a positive sense of accomplishment and responsibility on the other hand, the task appeared was found not to affect satisfaction. The motivators of the bankers its positive influence on job satisfaction than hygiene factors were relatively high. And moderating effect of demographic characteristics and to validate the results, demographic characteristics and health factors are motivation and job satisfaction in the relationship between the presence of the control effect was analyzed. The relationship between motivation and job satisfaction is the demographic characteristics were analyzed to control that acts as a tour director, Hygiene factors influence job satisfaction is based on demographic characteristics was analyzed the age and education have been shown to exist, while Sex, tours, position the relationship between job satisfaction and hygiene factors do not exist in the control effect was analyzed.

Improvement of a Context-aware Recommender System through User's Emotional State Prediction (사용자 감정 예측을 통한 상황인지 추천시스템의 개선)

  • This study proposes a novel context-aware recommender system, which is designed to recommend the items according to the customer's responses to the previously recommended item. In specific, our proposed system predicts the user's emotional state from his or her responses (such as facial expressions and movements) to the previous recommended item, and then it recommends the items that are similar to the previous one when his or her emotional state is estimated as positive. If the customer's emotional state on the previously recommended item is regarded as negative, the system recommends the items that have characteristics opposite to the previous item. Our proposed system consists of two sub modules-(1) emotion prediction module, and (2) responsive recommendation module. Emotion prediction module contains the emotion prediction model that predicts a customer's arousal level-a physiological and psychological state of being awake or reactive to stimuli-using the customer's reaction data including facial expressions and body movements, which can be measured using Microsoft's Kinect Sensor. Responsive recommendation module generates a recommendation list by using the results from the first module-emotion prediction module. If a customer shows a high level of arousal on the previously recommended item, the module recommends the items that are most similar to the previous item. Otherwise, it recommends the items that are most dissimilar to the previous one. In order to validate the performance and usefulness of the proposed recommender system, we conducted empirical validation. In total, 30 undergraduate students participated in the experiment. We used 100 trailers of Korean movies that had been released from 2009 to 2012 as the items for recommendation. For the experiment, we manually constructed Korean movie trailer DB which contains the fields such as release date, genre, director, writer, and actors. In order to check if the recommendation using customers' responses outperforms the recommendation using their demographic information, we compared them. The performance of the recommendation was measured using two metrics-satisfaction and arousal levels. Experimental results showed that the recommendation using customers' responses (i.e. our proposed system) outperformed the recommendation using their demographic information with statistical significance.

The Effects of Interpersonal Relationships on Job Satisfaction of Home-visiting Care Helpers (방문 요양보호사의 대인관계가 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was to investigate the effects of interpersonal relationships on job satisfaction of home-visiting care helpers and the category of interpersonal relationships was subdivided into elderly clients, guardians, colleagues and directors considering the person-to-person nature of home-visiting care helper's job characteristics. A group of 336 care helpers who engaged in home-visiting care service providing facilities in Daejeon City was selected as a research subject, and the data were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 program using reliability, frequency, correlation and hierarchical multiple regression. The results for the final analysis revealed that the effect of socio-demographic features was not significant while, among characteristics of job performances, work priority, turnover experience, and career choice reasons turned out to have significant impacts on job satisfaction. In particular, interpersonal relationships except the one with guardians were found to be the most influential variables and the effects of those relationships on job satisfaction were significant. The influencing power was stronger in relationships with director, elderly clients, and colleagues in order, and the job satisfaction level was higher as they were in better relationships with director, elderly clients, and colleagues. The results of this research shows that it is necessary to set an atmosphere where harmonious interpersonal relationships can be formed inside and outside of facilities in order to improve job satisfaction of home-visiting care helpers.

Descriptive Correlational Study on Personality Type using MBTI and lob Satisfaction (MBTI를 활용한 일 병원 간호사의 성격특성과 직무만족도와의 관계연구)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the correlations between personality type and job satisfaction of nurses. Methods: Subjects included three hundred twelve nurses ages from 21 to 55. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI) was administered to determine the personality types of the nurses(n=312). A job satisfaction survey including a demographic and career questionnaire was also used. Data were analyzed using ANOVA. Results: The mean score fur job satisfaction was 113.68 out of 205. The result showed that there was no statistically significant correlation between job satisfaction and information gathering functions, S: Sensing, N: Intuition (t=.667, p=.499), T; Thinking, F; Feeling (t=.822, p=.412). The results, however, indicated that style for gaining energy(I: Introversion, E: Extroversion)(t=2.008, p=.046) and life dealing style(J : Judgement, P : Perception)(t=2.290, p=.023) were significantly correlated with job satisfaction. The extrovert focuses on the outside and get energy through interacting with people and doing things. Judgement type is described as organized, decisive, and orderly. Conclusion: Nurses in the extrovert and judgement types were more satisfied with their Jobs than those in the introvert and perceptive type. Other results support that educational level, marital status, job characteristics, clinical experiences, motivation for nursing, and night duty were correlated with job satisfaction.
