Accuracy of the Point-Based Image Registration Method in Integrating Radiographic and Optical Scan Images: A Pilot Study

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of different implant computer software on the accuracy of image registration between radiographic and optical scan data. Materials and Methods: Cone-beam computed tomography and optical scan data of a partially edentulous jaw were collected and transferred to three different computer softwares: Blue Sky Plan (Blue Sky Bio), Implant Studio (3M Shape), and Geomagic DesignX (3D systems). In each software, the two image sets were aligned using a point-based automatic image registration algorithm. Image matching error was evaluated by measuring the linear discrepancies between the two images at the anterior and posterior area in the direction of the x-, y-, and z-axes. Kruskal-Wallis test and a post hoc Mann-Whitney U-test with Bonferroni correction were used for statistical analyses. The significance level was set at 0.05. Result: Overall discrepancy values ranged from 0.08 to 0.30 ㎛. The image registration accuracy among the software was significantly different in the x- and z-axes (P=0.009 and <0.001, respectively), but not different in the y-axis (P=0.064). Conclusion: The image registration accuracy performed by a point-based automatic image matching could be different depending on the computer software used.

A BIM and UWB integrated Mobile Robot Navigation System for Indoor Position Tracking Applications

  • This research presents the development of a self-governing mobile robot navigation system for indoor construction applications. This self-governing robot navigation system integrated robot control units, various positioning techniques including a dead-reckoning system, a UWB platform and motion sensors, with a BIM path planner solution. Various algorithms and error correction methods have been tested for all the employed sensors and other components to improve the positioning and navigation capability of the system. The research demonstrated that the path planner utilizing a BIM model as a navigation site map could effectively extract an efficient path for the robot, and could be executed in a real-time application for construction environments. Several navigation strategies with a mobile robot were tested with various combinations of localization sensors including wheel encoders, sonar/infrared/thermal proximity sensors, motion sensors, a digital compass, and UWB. The system successfully demonstrated the ability to plan an efficient path for robot's movement and properly navigate through the planned path to reach the specified destination in a complex indoor construction site. The findings can be adopted to several potential construction or manufacturing applications such as robotic material delivery, inspection, and onsite security.

  • Anesthesia gas to pour to patients affects the flow and volume as the pressure difference of an oxygen and an anesthesia gas. An anesthesia gas, being injurious and polluting an environment, must control the pressure of an oxygen gas because of being used by closing up tight. But a pressure sensor to use for measuring an oxygen gas appears other pressure as the characteristic and the error difference of elements to use for implementing an system. A medical machine such as an anesthesia ventilator must be accurate because of using for the person's body. So we intend to implement an system for a sensor pressure measurement not to be change regardless of an environment. This papers is the target that a sensor pressrue measurement to be changed in environment is equal to actual sensor pressure measurement. So an implemented system is using analog filter and digital filter to reduce a noise. And we are using auto-zeroing and calibration to correct a sensor pressure which is changed in environment. Through such a process we increase the accuracy and the confidence of an anesthesia ventilator by controlling the flow of an anesthesia gas.

  • 본 논문에서는 다이나믹 주파수 스케일링 (DFS) 카운터를 사용하여 코오스, 파인 조정 기능을 갖는 CMOS 듀티 사이클 보정회로를 제시한다. DFS 카운터는 디지털-아날로그 컨버터의 비트 스위칭 글리치를 감소시키기 때문에 제안하는 CMOS 듀티 사이클 보정회로의 듀티 보정 범위를 증가시키고 지터 특성을 개선한다. 제안하는 회로는 0.18-${\mu}m$ CMOS 공정을 이용하여 설계되었다. 0.5-1.5GHz의 넓은 동작 주파수와 25-75%의 넓은 듀티 사이클 보정 범위 내에서 측정된 최대 출력 듀티 사이클 에러는 ${\pm}1.1%$이다.

  • This paper presents the design of an advanced terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (AT-DMB) baseband receiver SoC. The AT-DMB baseband is incorporated into a hierarchical modulation scheme consisting of high priority (HP) and low priority (LP) stream decoders. The advantages of the hierarchical modulation scheme are backward compatibility and an enhanced data rate. The structure of the HP stream is the same as that of the conventional T-DMB system; therefore, a conventional T-DMB service is possible by decoding multimedia data in an HP stream. An enhanced data rate can be achieved by using both HP and LP streams. In this paper, we also discuss a time deinterleaver that can deinterleave data for a time duration of 384 ms or 768 ms. The interleaving time duration is chosen using the LP symbol mapping scheme. Furthermore, instead of a Viterbi decoder, a turbo decoder is adopted as an inner error correction system to mitigate the performance degradation due to a smaller symbol distance in a hierarchically modulated LP symbol. The AT-DMB baseband receiver SoC is fabricated using 0.13 ${\mu}m$ technology and shows successful operation with a 50 mW power dissipation.

DS-CDMA 시스템을 위한 터보 부호와 정규화 CMA 채널 등화 개선 (Improvement of Normalized CMA Channel Equalization and Turbo Code for DS-CDMA System)

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 통신 시스템에서 오류 정정 부호화 방식으로 사용되는 Turbo Code에서 기존의 블록 인터리버의 성능을 개선한 새로운 S-R 인터리버와 MAP 알고리듬을 이용한 병렬 구조의 새로운(New) 터보 복호기를 제안하고, 차세대 무선 멀티미디어 통신에서 실시간 음성 및 비디오 서비스를 제공시 복호 지연시간을 단축시키기 위해 가변 복호 방법을 이용하여 DS-CDMA 시스템의 Multipath 채널 환경에서 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 통해 성능 분석을 하였다. 또한 이동통신 시스템에서 채널의 효율을 높이기 위한 등화 방식으로 기존의 NCMA 알고리듬을 이용한 새로운 블라인드 등화 방식(Modified NCMA)을 제안하고, 이를 DS-CDMA 시스템의 다중 사용자 환경에서 컴퓨터 모의 실험 및 성능분석을 하였다.

설계영역 탐색을 이용한 최적의 비터비 복호기 자동생성기 (Automated Design of Optimal Viterbi Decoders Using Exploration of Design Space)

  • 디지털 통신시스템의 오류정정을 위한 길쌈부호의 대표적인 복호방식인 비터비 복호기는 사용되는 시스템의 사양에 따라서 그리고 복호기의 복호 아키텍처에 따라서 다양한 방식으로 설계할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 다양한 설계방법들 중에서 가장 효율적인 복호기의 설계구조를 결정해서 자동으로 원하는 사양에 맞는 비터비 복호기의 VHDL 모델을 생성해내는 자동생성기를 제시한다. 자동생성된 VHDL 모델을 이용하면 설계 초기단계에서 필요한 시간을 단축시킬 수 있다. 자동생성기는 설계영역 내에서 복호기의 설계크기와 복호속도를 비교해서 여러 가지 설계 아키텍처들 중에서 가장 최적인 것으로 판단되는 설계사양을 결정할 수 있다.

A New Data Link Protocol for Railway Signaling Systems

  • In accordance with the computerization of railway signaling systems, the interface link between signaling equipment has been replaced by a digital communication channel and the importance of this communication link has become increasingly significant. However, there are some problems with the present state of railway signaling. First, different communication protocol is applied to interfaces between signaling although they have the same functions. Next, the communication protocols currently used in the railway fields contain various illogical components such as structure, byte formation, error correction scheme and so on. To solve these matters, a new data link protocol for railway signaling systems is designed. In this paper, the structure of protocol and the results of performance analyses are presented. It will be expected to increase the safety, reliability and efficiency of maintenance of signaling systems by using the designed communication protocol for railway signaling in Korea.

용접로봇을 위한 아크센서 및 인?이스 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on the development of an arc sensor and its interface system for a welding robot)

  • An interface system was developed to offer the welding capability to a robot controller which had not any embedded function for arc welding before, and also an arc sensor algorithm was proposed for weld seam tracking of the welding robot. For the interface system between the robot controller and welding equipments, data communication software and interface connections were composed. The interface system was mae to correspond welding condition, correction data, operation sequence and current status with the robot controller by mutual had shaking and digital signal transfer. Graphic user interface program developed under the environment of windows made it easy to monitor data communication and operation status, and to control welding and sensing sequence. Arc sensing algorithm proposed in this study to compensate torch position error was based on a fuzzy logic with the variables of current difference and current differenced change at torch weaving extremities. The developed interface system could be successfully implemented in between welding equipments and the robot controller, and showed normal status and exact function in data and signal communication between the systems. The whole robot welding system was then examined to verify its welding and seam tracking capabilities in horizontal fillet, vertical fillet, and 3-dimensional fillet weldment. The experiments revealed sound weld bead shapes and also good seam tracing results.

산악지대의 일 최저기온 공간내삽모형 (A Spatial Interpolation Model for Daily Minimum Temperature over Mountainous Regions)

  • 표준관측소의 점 단위 기온 관측 및 예보값을 농업분야에서 활용하기 위해서는 공간내삽이 필요한 경우가 많지만 기후학적 평년값 같은 장기간의 평균값 내삽과는 달리 지형효과를 반영하기 어려워 거리역산가중법이 수정 없이 사용되고 있다. 우리 나라처럼 지형이 복잡한 산악지역에서는 수평 거리에만 의존한 내삽 결과에 심각한 오류가 포함될 수 있으므로, 영농지원 정보로서 중요한 일 최저기온을 대상으로 추정오차의 최대근원인 해발고도의 영향을 보정 할 수 있는 간단한 공간내삽모형을 작성하였다. 먼저 남한 육지 상에 위치한 63개 표준관측소에서 수집된 일 최저기온자료와 관측소의 위치, 해안으로부터 거리, 경사향, 표고 등 국지기온 결정인자를 회귀분석 하여 표고에 따른 기온감율 추정식을 날짜의 함수로 표현하였다. 63개 관측점의 표고값을 공간내삽 하여 재구성한 전국의 가상 지형으로부터 1 km$\times$ 1 km 공간단위의 전국 수치고도값 편차를 계산하고, 여기에 해당 날짜의 기온감율을 적용하여 보정값을 계산한다. 기존의 거리역산가중법에 의한 기온추정값을 이 보정값에 의해 수정함으로써 최종 기온값을 얻는다. 임의로 선발된 1999년의 월별 하루씩 총 12일에 대하여 이 모형과 기존 거리역산가중법을 각기 적용하여 267개 자동기상관측지점의 일 최저기온을 추정한후 실측값과 비교하였다 오차평균, 절대오차평균, 그리고 평방근오차평균 등 세가지 추정오차를 분석한 결과 이 방법이 거리역산가중법에 비해 산악지역에서의 일 최저기온 추정에 있어 뚜렷한 개선효과를 보였다.
