  • The importance of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) in the industry is increasing due to various loads, such as earthquakes and wind, having a significant impact on the performance of structures and equipment. Estimating responses is crucial for the effective health management of these assets. However, using numerous sensors in facilities and equipment for response estimation causes economic challenges. Additionally, it could require a response from locations where sensors cannot be attached. Digital twin technology has garnered significant attention in the industry to address these challenges. This paper constructs a digital twin system utilizing the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model to estimate responses in a pipe system under simultaneous seismic load and arbitrary loads. The performance of the data-driven digital twin system was verified through a comparative analysis of experimental data, demonstrating that the constructed digital twin system successfully estimated the responses.

A Study on the Change of Education System with the Development of Digital Content Industry

  • Due to the development of science and technology and the emergence of new industries, the environmental change of the digital contents industry is rapidly progressing. The scope of technological development in the digital contents industry is affecting not only the entertainment industry but also various industries. Recently, with the development of digital convergence using realistic content, games, video, and VR have provided new opportunities for the growth of the content industry. The researcher determined that a new education system would need to be changed as the digital contents industry developed. For this purpose, an AHP questionnaire was conducted for experts with a high basic understanding of the education platform based on previous studies. We proposed a platform model for human resource development as an education system that meets the demand of digital contents industry. The education system for nurturing talents needed by future society should include elements that can interest the learning of users. The platform should not be approached from a system point of view, but should be developed from the content and user's point of view, considering the platform's original purpose.

Speed of Catch-up and Digital Divide: A Study of Three Information Communication Technologies for 44 African Countries.

  • Information system has been at center of economic development in several developed countries, and as Africa envision to improve its global economic competitiveness it is important to assess penetration rate the digital divide and catch-up effect over the years. This paper examined whether there exists digital divide and if so, is it narrowing over time and whether the ICT is converging with time in the African countries. Three technologies namely mobile-cellular, internet and fixed broadband were used to measure the digital divide and the catch-up effect. Gamma and sigma convergence methodology together with averaged penetration ratios were used to assess the cross-country performance of each technology. This study confirms both the narrowing of digital divide and convergence of ICT in all three technologies for both total group and subgroups. The digital gap was narrowing over time and the low-income countries were catching up faster to the middle-income countries in all three technologies. However, there are marked differences exhibited in the speed of narrowing digital divide and the speed of convergence between the total groups and the subgroups of countries. Some policy implications were discussed in the conclusion and they can be utilized in designing developmental ICT policies in each technology case for individual countries.

  • The advance of All-IP digital convergence is now triggering fundamental changes in the media industry. This article analyzes the evolution of the media industry based on a value chain model, with a special emphasis placed on the impact of digital technology on the structure of media production, distribution, and consumption. As the Internet has evolved into an access channel for all forms of media, the boundaries of the media industry remain unclear and open thus enabling anyone to become a creator of media. Furthermore, the scope of media continues to become more dynamic as competition grows between older and more innovative forms of media. In this light, adapting to innovative technologies and more effectively meeting the needs of customers represent key factors for the continued evolution of the media.

  • In the age of digital convergence, it is expected that quality of life of human beings can be improved by converged devices and services. Researches concerning change of buying patterns and consumer behaviors in these contexts have to be progressed actively. To investigate future trend of consumer behaviors, we used focus group interview for Qualitative approach in the first step and then conducted questionnaire survey for experts in order to get validity and feasibility of research results. As result of research we suggested eight propositions by FGI for 20s target consumers. Additionally, on the basis of qualitative research, by questionnaire survey for 22 experts two perspectives of positive and negative views In future trends were proposed. Results can give lots of Implications and research motivations to academia, practices and workers in public policies who have interests in change of consumer behaviors, thinking styles, and life style under digital convergent environment.

공공 디지털 사이니지 서비스 개발 연구 (A Study on the Development of Public Digital Signage Services)

  • 본 연구는 행정안전부의 시범사업 중 하나인 '세종특별시 디지털 사이니지 국가시범사업'을 위한 기초연구를 기반으로 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 첨단 기술이 결합된 스마트 플랫폼인 '디지털 사이니지'를 '공공 서비스 콘텐츠 플랫폼'으로 보고 콘텐츠의 배치를 계획하기 위한 전략이 기술우위 공급자 대신 해당 지역 커뮤니티 또는 사용자에 초점을 맞춰야 한다고 전제하였다. 이러한 맥락에서 첨단 기술 기반의 공공 서비스에 대한 수요 증가에 대응하여, '공공 디지털 사이니지 서비스' 개발 전략에 관해 연구하였다. 또한 동 전략을 쉽게 수립하거나 실행할 수 있도록 '디지털 사이니지 서비스 툴'들을 설계하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 '디지털 사이니지 기능'을 '디지털 광고 기능' 뿐만 아니라 '공공 및 문화 서비스 기능'으로 확대, 발전시키는 전략을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 연구의 최종 목표는 시민들의 적극적인 참여와 인터랙티브 미디어의 혁신적인 활용을 통해 '세종시 상권 활성화 프로젝트'가 창출하는 공공 가치를 추구하는 것이라고 할 수 있다.

한국 전통문양 식물문(食物紋)과 젠탱글 아트의 융합연구 (A Convergence Study on Korean Traditional Plant Patterns and 'Zentangle Art')

  • 본 연구는 아날로그 연필, 펜 등과 같은 필기구를 사용하여 패턴을 그리는 젠탱글 아트(zentangle art) 제작 과정 중, 디지털 아트의 효과적인 융복합을 통해서 보다 창의적인 젠텡글 아트 작품을 제작하기 위한 방법론과 활용 가능성에 대한 연구이다. 특히 디지털 아트의 저작도구를 활용한 제작 방식과 한국 전통문양의 형태별 분류인 식물문(食物紋)의 상징성(symbol)을 응용하여 전통문양과 젠탱글 아트가 융합된 디자인을 연구하고 기호학의 관점에서 연구 및 분석했으며 그에 따른 새로운 방향성을 제시한다. 향후에는 제작자를 중심으로 젠탱글 아트 작품 제작 시 발생하는 특유의 몰입감과 심리적 현상을 연구할 예정이다. 추후, 지속적인 연구를 통해서 젠텡글 아티스트 및 연구자들에게 콘텐츠 제작의 새로운 확장성과 산업적 가치를 제시할 계획이다.

  • Today, the convergence of fashion design and digital technology has become a popular method and accordingly been tried variously in the fashion area. This study aimed to analyze the character of the collaboration with fashion and technology, and the meaning of technology as emotional expression methods. Selected designer's collections, literature and other related studies were reviewed in order to analyze the generative structure of the meaning and the binary-opposition in the convergence of body, fashion design and technology. Literatures and selected designer's collections were reviewed and quantitatively studies were performed to classify the convergence of human bodies, fashion design and technology through Greimas Semiotics rectangle based on binary-opposition of meaning and isotophy analysis. The research presents three types of fashion technology methods: mechanical movement, light/digital media, and virtual image. The convergence of fashion and technology was classified as the direct convergence and the indirect convergence. The direct convergence was characterized by variability and has automatic, independent movement, but the indirect convergence was shown closed and to have contradistinctive images.

사회연결망 k-코어를 활용한 기술융합 분석: 방위산업 기업의 보유기술 중심 (Technology Convergence Analysis Using Social Network k-Core: Focusing on Company Technologies of Defense Industry)

  • A technology can be newly formed through technological convergence achieved by the intersection of two or more technological fields. As the complexity of technology development increases, related interest is increasing. Researches have been carried out on the concept, related indicators and analysis of technology convergence including method of social networks. This paper intends to suggest an analysis method of technology convergence using social networks based on the company's possessing technologies. According to the similarity of technologies among companies, a social network was constructed and the technology convergence was analyzed using k-core, a social network subgroup method. Using the result of k-core, base and element technologies for convergence was identified with their relations. Using the suggested method, technology convergence was analyzed on real technology data of defense-industry companies. When the minimum technology similarity is 0, the overall technology convergence relations between technology elements can be identified. In the scope of data in this paper, technologies of defense S/W, aircraft structure and structural materials are identified as important base technology for convergence.

  • IT는 한국의 경제성장에 큰 기여를 해왔으며 사회전반의 패러다임 혁신을 통해 생산성, 효율성, 편의성, 소통성을 증진시키고 삶의 양식에 전면적 변화를 가져왔다. 국민경제와 사회문화에서 지대한 의미를 지나는 IT는 다른 기술 또는 산업과의 융합이라는 새로운 변화와 혁신의 중심에 위치하고 있다. IT융합은 IT의 자체 고도화를 바탕으로 다른 분야의 기술개발과 산업발전을 견인하거나 새로운 산업을 창출하는 것으로 우리나라를 비롯하며 주요국에서는 자원과 역량을 선택적으로 집중하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 IT 융합과 관련된 주요국의 산업 전략 및 기술개발 동향을 파악하고 전문가 설문조사결과를 바탕으로 한국의 IT 융합역량의 수준을 평가하고 결론적으로 IT융합신산업육성 및 선도방안에 관한 전략적 제언을 하고자 한다.
