  • An asymmetrical cross-coupled compensator to improve the contouring performance is proposed. This is a refinement of the structure suggested by Koren. The position loop is closed with a proportional controller as in the uncoupled system. An additional input term proportional to the component of the contour error along the corresponding axis Is included. The controller gains are chosen to give an appropriate frequency response and an optimum range for the damping ratio. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is studied by means of digital simulations of the dynamics of the drives and the controller for 3 types of command trajectories; straight line contour, cornering contour, circular contour. Substantial improvement in contouring performance is obtained for a range of contouring conditions.

  • Deadbeat property is well established in digital control system design, But in continuous time, it can hardly realized for it's asymtotic property. But recently japanese researchers suggested serveral method for continuous time deadbeat property. They use delay elements In polynomials and established for the deadbeat condition. By solving this condition, unknown coefficients in polynomials with delay elements is obtained. In this paper, design method for optimal continuous time deadbeat servo system using 2nd order smooting elementsis studied. Continuous time deadbeat controller is consisted of serial integral compensator and local feedback one in state feedback loop. Determining method for damping rations and natural frequencies of smothing elements is described. By computer simulations, control inputs and system outputs are shown to have desirable property such as smoothness.

  • We have developed the elastic measurement system that diagnose the abdominal region, DAM. It cause the Chronic gastro-intestinal disease. For the purpose of detecting the disease, we use the ultrasonic sensor for the collecting response signal and CPLD for the minimum rining. This system has a digital TGC(time gain compensator). We were display the elastic signal to a graph on the LABVIEW.

  • The efficiency of photovoltaic generation systems depends on the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique. Among the various schemes presented in the literature, the incremental conductance (INC) method is one of the most frequently used due to its superb tracking ability under changes in insolation and temperature. Generally, conventional INC algorithms implement a simple duty-cycle updating rule that is mainly found on the polarity of the peak-power evaluation function. However, this fails to maximize the performance in both steady-state and transient conditions. In order to overcome this limitation, a novel regulated INC (r-INC) method is proposed in this paper. Like the compensators in automatic control systems, this method applies a digital compensator to evaluate the INC function and improve the capability of power tracking. Precise modeling of a new MPPT system is also presented in the optimized design process. A 120W boost peak power tracker is utilized to obtain comparative test results and to confirm the superiority of the proposed method over existing techniques.

  • In this paper, we show the memory effect of the high-power amplifiers for wied-band signals, present a compensation method for the nonlinearity combined with memory effect, and analyze its performance. For the modeling and the compensation of the nonlinear high-power amplifier with memory effect, we investigate the Volterra series model, the Wiener model, and the Hammerstein model. As a compensator scheme, we propose a digital feedforward technique. Compared to analog feed-forward scheme, the proposed scheme has better stability and adaptability to the environmental changes. It has a simpler structure than the conventional digital nonlinear compensation schemes. The result of computer simulations using ADS of the Agilent shows that spectral re-growth is suppressed by more than 20 dB, which amounts to at least 10 dB back-off. Considering the compensation performance, implementation complexity, and convergence rate, we could conclude the Wiener model is most suitable for the proposed scheme.

  • Recently, PWM inverter is widely utilized for many industrial applications such as high performance drive and space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM) inverter which has high voltage ratio and low harmonics compared to conventional PWM inverter. This paper presents the implementation on a field programmable gate array(FPGA) of a SVPWM module for a voltage source inverter. The SVPWM module consists of PWM generator, current and position sensor interface and dead time compensator. The implemented SVPWM module can be integrated with a digital signal processor(DSP) to provide a flexible and effective solution for high performance voltage source inverter and for the use of multi-motor control. The performance of SVPWM module is verified by simulation and several experimental results.

  • A significant number of renewable energy systems have been connected to the grids as supplement power source. The renewable energy systems require control algorithm to maintain the power-supply reliability and quality. This paper proposes a novel control algorithm for smart Power Conditioning System (PCS) with harmonics and reactive power compensation. The smart PCS is used to feed Photovoltaic (PV) power to utility and compensate harmonics and reactive power at the same time. The experimentation is carried out on the proposed grid-connected PV generation system, and controlled by digital signal processor. The grid-connected PV generation system injects PV energy into the grid and performs as Active Filter (AF) and Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) without additional devices. The experiment results show that the proposed control algorithm is effective for smart PCS with harmonics and reactive power compensation.

  • The damping ratio ${\xi}$ of the unit-step response of a second-order discrete system is a function of only the location of the closed-loop poles and is not directly related to the location of the system zero. However, the peak overshoot of the response is the function of both the damping ratio ${\xi}$ and an angle ${\alpha}$, which is the phasor angle of the damped sinusoidal response and is determined by the relative location of the zero with respect to the closed-loop poles. Therefore, if the zero and the open-loop poles are relatively adjusted, through pole-zero cancellation, to maintain the desired (or designed) closed-loop poles, the damping ratio ${\xi}$ will also be maintained, while the angle ${\alpha}$ changes. Accordingly, when the closed-loop system poles are fixed, the peak overshoot is considered as a function of the angle ${\alpha}$ or the system zero location. In this paper the effects of the relative location of the zero on the system performance of a second-order discrete system is studied, and a design method of digital compensator which achieves a minimum peak overshoot while maintaining the desired system mode and the damping ratio of the unit step response is presented.
