Objective : he purposes of this study are to evaluate the efficacy of Bee Venom therapy(BV) on HNP(Herniation of Nucleus Purposus) of Lumbar spine by use of Visual Analog Scale(VAS), Pain Rating Scale(PRS) and Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging(DITI), and to investigate their correlation. Methods : We researched 20 patients who were diagnosed by MRI as having a HNP, and treated them by Oriental medical therapy(including BV) for 4 weeks. The evaluation was peformed twice(admission day and after treatment for 4 weeks), and we compared the results. Results : 1. VAS, PRS and ${\Delta}t$(by DITI) were decreased after BV for 4 weeks significantly(p<0.01). 2. There was significant correlation between VAS and PRS(p<0.05). 3. There was significant correlation between PRS and ${\Delta}t$(p<0.05). 4. There was no significant correlation between VAS and ${\Delta}t$. Conclusions : BV improved HNP subjectively and objectively, and correlation was found between VAS and PRS and between PRS and ${\Delta}t$. Further study is needed for investigating their correlation.
The purpose of this study is to apply a probation and tea culture therapy convergence program developed for the self-esteem improvement and recidivism prevention of sex offenders supervised by GPS electronic monitoring(wearing electronic anklet). After applying the tea culture therapy program, this study examines the effect of the program on the self-esteem improvement of sex offenders with electronic anklet. This study employs an integrative approach of qualitative and quantitative methods. It was shown from the qualitative analysis that the participants have considerably more positive attitudes, active participation, seriousness in interpersonal relationship, anger management, and sympathy after the program. Objective: This study focused on subacute stroke patients who were asked to kick a ball while walking on a treadmill. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of a body weight-supported treadmill training (BWSTT) combined with ball-kicking on muscle strength, balance, and gait. Design: Single blind, randomized controlled trial. Methods: Twenty stroke patients who volunteered to participate in this study were randomly assigned to either the BWSTT combined with ball-kicking (BWSTT-BK; 10 participants) group or the BWSTT group (10 participants). Participants in the BWSTTBK group performed treadmill walking combined with simultaneous ball-kicking for 30 minutes daily for 5 weeks. Participants from the BWSTT group performed only treadmill walking. The muscular strength, balance, and gait ability were measured before and after the 5-week training. To assess for muscular strength, a digital muscle tester was used to measure hip flexor, knee extensor, and dorsiflexor strength. To assess for balance, the Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and Timed Up and Go Test (TUG) was used. To assess for gait, the 10 meter walk test (10MWT) and Functional Gait Assessment (FGA) was used. Results: The BWSTT-BK group showed significantly improved muscular strength, balance, and gait according to BBS, TUG, 10MWT, FGA, and digital muscle testing scores compared to the BWSTT group (p<0.05). In addition, within-group comparison showed significant improvement in all variables (p<0.05). Conclusions: These findings suggest that BWSTT-BK results in more favourable outcomes for stroke patients. Therefore, BWSTT-BK may be useful for the recovery of gait ability of stroke patients.
The aim of this study was to identify the type of occupational balance of college students and analyze the differences between positive or negative emotions according to degree of flow. The Experience Sampling Methods (ESM) were conducted for 12 college students using smart phones. As a result, in activities of daily living group, apathy showed the highest percentage (34%) and in over work group, flow showed the highest percentage (41%). In occupational balance group, frequency of labor and leisure activities was high but boredom was experience a lot in leisure activities. When the students experienced flow in main activities, mean score of positive emotions showed the highest value. Through this study, we identified the differences of flow experience in occupational performance based on type of occupational balance and confirmed improvement of positive emotions in activities experienced flow.

This article aims at developing Mind Healing Program for university students, whose anxiety and depression are getting serious. Reality therapy was experimented total 10 times(one time per week), which was the revision and supplement of Woo(1994)'s reality therapy program. It consists of introducing program and self, understanding 5 mind desires, identifying obstacles of conversation, learning efficient communication skills, controling irrational expectation of others, recognizing mind gap, problems of choice and responsibility, nurturing mind, etc. The effectiveness of this program was verified through a model whose research variants were participation motivation, participation satisfaction, and mental health. Direct effects of participation motivation, participation satisfaction, and mental health were less satisfactory than indirect effects of the time when program satisfaction is a variant. It is concluded that mental health of participants is getting better when more satisfactory program should be provided, rather than motivation of simple participation.

Poststroke depression can have a secondary effect on social cognition, and this can lead to behavioral problems. The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of a Cognitive Stimulation Circulative Program(CSCP) based on occupational therapy. The participants of this study were 12 stroke patients. The CSCP was organized in such a way to promote the cognitive process. This program were carried out as a circuit program(16 sessions). As a result of this study, the depression scale of the subjects had statistically significant benefit(p<.05). Also, the evaluation results verified partial improvement in quality of life, and the relationship change scale which was used to evaluate role of physical and social cognitive function ability had statistically significant benefit(p<.05). The above results of this study verified that the CSCP was an efficient intervention program that reduces the depression of stroke patients and improve their social cognitive function ability, thus enhancing the quality of life.
