A Study on the Utilization and Improvement in Department Store Roof Garden -Focused on the Case of Daejeon and Chungcheong- (백화점 옥상정원의 이용현황 및 개선에 관한 조사연구 -대전, 충청지역 백화점 및 대형 점포를 중심으로-)

  • Recently, the roof garden of the large commercial facilities has been changed as a complex cultural space follow the users' diverse needs. It is focused on large commercial facilities on Seoul and Gyeonggi area but large commercial facilities of the province still has not been able to respond to the needs of users. Thus, the present condition of roof gardens was compared space components with physical environmental factors in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Daejeon, Chungcheong. Throughout the comparison, roof gardens in Daejeon and Chungcheong area were focused on finding ways to improve As a result, roof gardens in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were applied to a variety of factors in space components experience, learning, performance, exhibition and etc. It is composed to take place of various acts in the roof garden. On the other hand, roof gardens in Daejeon and Chungcheong were not applied a variety space components by comparing Seoul and Gyeonggi area. Physical environmental factors also were insufficient by comparing Seoul and Gyeonggi area the landscape, awning facilities, amenities for handicapped. As described above, space components and physical environmental factors in Daejeon and Chungcheong area roof gardens were insufficient. To perform the role of the roof garden changing as a complex cultural space and to confront to the users' needs space component such as learning, performance, exhibition should be considered during planning. And physical environmental factors supportable space components should be considered together.

  • The number of galleries across the country is increasing as interest in cultural life increases due to the increase in national income. However, museum satisfaction is relatively low compared to other services. In this paper, we propose a service that provides preference information based on machine learning in embedded system environment in order to increase museum satisfaction. The proposed algorithm implements an embedded system using Raspberry Pi. Machine learning was used to find works similar to the viewer's favorite works, and several models were compared to select models applicable to embedded systems. By using the preference information, it is possible to effectively organize the gallery exhibition contents to increase the exhibition satisfaction and the re-visit rate of the museum.

  • MICE industry is emerging as a new growth engine recently. Most of the domestic MICE events are carried out at low cost on a small scale. The event organizers want to cut down on costs of prints such as brochures and other promotional printed materials, as well as the personnel costs for the simple guide job needed on site, which are generated repeatedly and wastefully. The existing mobile web has a defect that the participants can't easily earn the information in the fixed menu, but have to search by themselves wasting lots of time. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the solution enables providing information efficiently at low cost for short-term use during the events. In this study, we implemented specific total management system for exhibitions and convention using beacon. The information system for exhibitions and events using beacon can raise the management efficiency, and the digital brochure function based on CMS heightens the information retrieval ability and also reduces costs. Organizers can manage their event efficiently in a small exhibition and convention event by running an online website and operate a site management system by them selves.

  • This study focused on the transition from modularity of a mechanical construction system to the seriality in a digital production system in architecture and arguing how digital design process affects the design of surface in the contemporary architecture and development of digital technology actively intermediate surface of architecture and expressive characteristics of media on surface. The analysis of two exhibition facilities of Herzog & de Meuron expose process of fabrication in the surface design and makes possible to implementation of the concept of code to seriality which shows images employed to reveal immediate representation of the perceptual communication with humans and architecture through the role and significance of digital design techniques.

  • The physical display technology is the ultimate display technology that human beings aspire, and the world makes use of laser, plasma and reflector plate. Besides, technology development of binocular stereoscopic display has been actively progressed, but there is a limitation to the intact physical representation such as influence of optical ambient light and brightness. In this paper, the display technology using physical deformation different from the existing optical display is approached as a cultural and emotional perspective. The purpose of this paper is to develop the multivariate display technology that can create 3D realistic stereoscopic images through projecting dynamic images on physically diversified screen by overcoming the limitations of 2D planar digital signage and study how to apply them to video, exhibition and performance.

  • The requirement of Digital Culture Content(Movie, Music, Animation, Digital TV, Exhibition and etc.) is increasing so variety and quantity of content is also increasing. The Movie what majority of the digital Content is developing of technology and data. In the result, the efficient retrieval service has required and user want to use a recommendation engine and semantic retrieval methods through the recommendation system. Therefore, this paper will suggest analysing trait element of digital content data, building of retrieval technology, analysing and retrieval technology base on KANSEI vocabulary and etc. For the these, we made a extraction technology of trait element based on semantics and KANSEI processing algorithm based on color information.

  • The walls of art museums become the background of exhibits, and they form a unit space depending on the of each exhibit. In addition, the walls are configured and presented depending on the rhythm of space, or the structure of an axis. In this study, according to the axis composed for each unit space, the presentation methods of walls were classified as follows: The central type, the skewed type, the crossed type, the one-side corridor type, and the two-way corridor type. By analyzing visual configurations formed by the arrangement of each unit space, the value and the hierarchy of walls are discussed To analyze the classified types with the physical change of unit space, the factors of visual integration, connectivity, depth, and visual axis are compared, and various configurations of walls and space change are applied.

  • Augmented Reality (AR) is an emerging technology and the applications of technology are still not fully unveiled. This paper explores a new application of augmented reality for new direction in art exhibitions, which aims to bring interactive learning experience to life. The project takes printed images on book or exhibiting arts to the next level by applying AR technology to provide a unique fascinating experience to its readers on mobile devices. AR technology composing with animation brings new digital entertainment experience to the user of art exhibitions. The key feature of this paper uses the technology presents auxiliary information in the field of view of an object on art exhibitions automatically without human intervention.

  • Digital technology in modern society is entering the era of digital convergence and ubiquitous computing, and is playing an important role to overcome the limitation of time and space. Based on new media method's rapid application development, a wide range of forms as digital design is made possible. A large part of our living such as information sharing, collaboration, production, recreation, working and various social activities has been realized from the space that digital media offer. As we see a much broader range, the digital media's diverse expressions affect, in interactive ways, not only the relationship between humans and things, between each individual human, and between humans and the environment, but also even emotional purification and realm of educational, cultural, and social aspect. In this study, the aim is to discuss the user-centered design considered for integration into the interaction space design method and is to concentrate on research on. Focusing on digital media, user-friendly interface features of the space environment, construction and utilization of digital media have been applied to try to analyze the interaction effect of space that is created for the design and application of various applications and will seek ways. Thus, various case-studies have been explored where interface space is developed, creating virtual reality through cognitive basis and 3-D interface space. For example, emotional expressions are embedded for the space of commerce, education and exhibition, enabling intercommunication through haptic interface, with changing sound and visual effects which are caused by the movement of people in a certain space. With consideration of the relationship between physical environment and objects, interactive design should be achieved by providing a human oriented interface based on social, cultural and environmental aspects.

Light ID and HMD-AR Based Interactive Exhibition Design for Jeonju Hanok Village Immersive 3D View (전주 한옥마을의 실감 3D View를 위한 Light ID 및 HMD-AR 기반 인터렉티브 전시 설계)

  • The digital convergence looking for new ways to engage visitors by superimposing virtual content on projection over the real world captured media contents. This paper propose the Light ID based interactive 3D immersive exhibition things view using HMD AR technology. This approach does not required to add any additional infrastructure to be built-in to enable service and uses the installed Lighting or displays devices in the exhibit area. In this approach, the Light ID can be used as a Location Identifier and communication medium to access the content unlike the QR Tag which supports provide the download information through web interface. This utilize the advantages of camera based optical wireless communication (OWC) to receive the media content on smart device to deliver immersive 3D content visualization using AR. The proposed exhibition method is emulated on GALAXY S8 smart phone and the visual performance is evaluated for Jeonju Hanok Village. The experimental results shows that the proposed method can give immersive 3D view for exhibit things in real-time.
