CALPUFF 모델을 이용한 기후변화에 따른 일산화탄소의 대기오염 영향 분석 (Analysis about CO Diffusion Change Caused by Climate Change Using CALPUFF)

  • In this study CALPUFF was used to estimate the influence of temperature rise, according to the observation value of temperature rise based RCP scenario, on meteorological elements (wind direction, wind speed, mixing height) and the change of pollutant diffusion. According to the result. applying estimated value of year 2050 temperature rise, the mixing height is increased as per the temperature rise, so the range of atmospheric diffusion is widened. In summer case, by applying temperature rise of $4^{\circ}C$ and comparing with before applying temperature rise, there was change of diffusion range as per the change of temperature between 10 AM to 11 PM. And the range of diffusion was wider than that of before temperature rise. In winter case, by applying estimated value of temperature rise, $2.3^{\circ}C$, diffusion range has been changed between 8 AM to 4 PM, showing different diffusion aspect from summer. Also, according to the result of air pollution level assessment with temperature rise, it was proved that the ratio of area with increasing air pollution level has been getting higher by increase of temperature.

인공광하에서 공정묘 개체군상의 공기역학적 저항 및 확산계수 (Aerodynamic Resistance and Eddy Diffusivity above the Plug Stand under Artificial Light)

  • Experiment was performed in a newly developed wind tunnel with light system to determine the aerodynamic resistance and eddy diffusivity above the plug stand under artificial light. Maximum air temperature appeared near the top of the plug stand under artificial light. Since Richardson number was ranged from -0.07 to +0.01, the atmosphere above the plug stand in wind tunnel was in an unstable or near- neutral stability state. The average aerodynamic resistance at rear region of plug stand was 25 % higher than that at middle region. Eddy diffusivity($K_{M}$) linearly increased with the increasing air current speed. $K_{M}$ at air current speed of 0.9 m.$s^{-1}$ was about two times as many as that at air current speed of 0.3 m.$s^{-1}$. And average $K_{M}$ at the rear region was 15% lower than that at the middle region. These results indicated that the diffusion of heat and mass along the direction of air current inside the plug stand was different. It might cause the lack of uniformity in the growth and quality of plug seedlings. The wind tunnel developed in this study would be useful to investigate the effects of air current speed on microclimates and the growth of plug seedlings under artificial light in a semi- closed ecosystem.

Investigations on aerosols transport over micro- and macro-scale settings of West Africa

  • The aerosol content dynamics in a virtual system were investigated. The outcome was extended to monitor the mean concentration diffusion of aerosols in a predefined macro and micro scale. The data set used were wind data set from the automatic weather station; satellite data set from Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer aerosol index and multi-angle imaging spectroradiometer; ground data set from Aerosol robotic network. The maximum speed of the macro scale (West Africa) was less than 4.4 m/s. This low speed enables the pollutants to acquire maximum range of about 15 km. The heterogeneous nature of aerosols layer in the West African atmosphere creates strange transport pattern caused by multiple refractivity. It is believed that the multiple refractive concepts inhibit aerosol optical depth data retrieval. It was also discovered that the build-up of the purported strange transport pattern with time has enormous potential to influence higher degrees of climatic change in the long term. Even when the African Easterly Jet drives the aerosols layer at about 10 m/s, the interacting layers of aerosols are compelled to mitigate its speed to about 4.2 m/s (macro scale level) and boost its speed to 30 m/s on the micro scale level. Mean concentration diffusion of aerosols was higher in the micro scale than the macro scale level. The minimum aerosol content dynamics for non-decaying, logarithmic decay and exponential decay particulates dispersion is given as 4, 1.4 and 0 respectively.

적응 가중 미디언 필터를 이용한 영상 확산 알고리즘 (Nonlinear Anisotropic Diffusion Using Adaptive Weighted Median Filters)

  • 편미분 방정식을 도입하여 새로운 영상처리 기술을 개발하려는 연구가 활발히 진행 중이며, 특히 확산 방정식을 풀어 잡음 제거, 영상 복원, 에지 검출 및 영상 분할 등에 응용할 수 있는 이미지 확산 알고리즘에 관심이 높다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 비등방성 확산 방식이 결국은 커널 크기가 작은 적응 필터링 방식과 동일한 효과를 낸다는 것을 보이고, 확산 과정에서 선형 필터의 단점을 보완할 수 있도록 가중 미디언(WM, Weighted Median) 필터를 적용한 새로운 확산 기법을 제안하였다. 제안된 WM 필터가 비등방성 커널을 갖도록 필터계수에 대응하는 가중치들을 이미지의 국부적인 변화량에 따라 적응적으로 가변할 수 있는 기법을 제안하였다. 뿐만 아니라 반복 과정에서의 확산 속도를 증가할 수 있도록 커널의 크기를 증가시키기 위한 방안도 제시하였다. 실제 영상을 사용한 실험을 통하여 제안된 방식이 기존의 방식에 비해 잡음 제거 (특히 임펄스성 잡음) 특성이나 에지 보존 특성이 더 우수하다는 것을 보였다. 또한 기존의 방식에 비해 확장된 크기를 갖는 커널을 이용함으로써 확산 속도를 높일 수 있다는 것을 보였다.

LNG 화물창 방열재 균열에 따른 액화천연가스의 확산 및 온도 예측을 위한 수치 모델 (Numerical Model of Heat Diffusion and Evaporation by LNG Leakage at Membrane Insulation)

  • The leakage of cryogenic LNG through cracks in the insulation membrane of an LNG carrier causes the hull structure to experience a cold spot as a result of the heat transfer from the LNG. The hull structure will become brittle at this cold spot and the evaporated natural gas may potentially lead to a hazard because of its flammability. This paper presents a computational model for the LNG flow and heat diffusion in an LNG insulation panel subject to leakage. The temperature distribution in the insulation panel and the speed of gas diffusion through it are simulated to assess the safety level of an LNG carrier subject that experiences a leak. The behavior of the leaked LNG is modeled using a multiphase flow that considers the mixture of liquid and gas. The simulation model considers the phase change of the LNG, gas-liquid multiphase interactions in the porous media, and accompanying rates of heat transfer. It is assumed that the NO96-GW membrane storage is composed of glass wool and plywood for the numerical simulation. In the numerical simulation, the seepage, heat diffusion, and evaporation of the LNG are investigated. It is found that the diffusion speed of the leakage is very high to accelerate the evaporation of the LNG.

The fast image encryption algorithm based on substitution and diffusion

  • A fast image encryption system based on substitution and diffusion was proposed, which includes one covering process, one substitution process and two diffusion processes. At first, Chen's chaotic system together with an external 256-bit long secret key was used to generate the key streams for image encryption, in which the initial values of Chen's chaotic system were regarded as the public key. Then the plain image was masked by the covering process. After that the resulting image was substituted with the disturbed S-Box of AES. Finally, the substituted image was diffused twice with the add-modulo operations as the core to obtain the cipher image. Simulation analysis and comparison results with AES and some existing image cryptosystems show that the proposed image cryptosystem possesses the merits of fast encryption/decryption speed, good statistical characteristics, strong sensitivity and etc., and can be used as a candidate system of network security communication.

  • In this paper, an estimation methodology for stand-by energy savings of electric appliances is proposed and some case studies are carried out for televisions. The methodology is based on learning curves and diffusion models, which are able to explain the market characteristics such as market prices and the diffusion speed. Some models were developed to estimate power and energy savings for high-efficient appliances and these model have been used broadly. These models are also applied to this study and modified to estimate stand-by energy savings.

  • High-speed and low-speed flows are simulated numerically by flowfield-dependent mixed explicit-implicit (FDMEI) method. This algorithm depends on implicitness parameters of convection, diffusion, diffusion gradients, and source terms which are calculated from the changes of local Mach, Reynolds, Peclet, and Damkohler numbers between adjacent nodes. Convection phenomena or shock waves are resolved from Mach number-dependent implicitness parameters whereas diffusion or viscous actions are simulated by Reynolds number or Peclet number-dependent implicitness parameters. Fluctuation components of all variables are properly accommodated spatially and temporally in the FDMEI procedure. To illustrate, some benchmark example problems are presented for comparisons of the FDMEI results with other available data. These results appear to be encouraging and point toward the need for further investigations of the FDMEI theory.

  • Cds is possible to add excess donors and to compensate partially using other group metals as acceptors. The impurities can ble incorporated either during crysta growth or by diffusion into a bulkcrystal. The addition of rimpurities leads also to the production of vacancies in a manner depending on the atmosphere surrounding the crystal during growth, during the diffusion process or using bulk. Cds of the mentioned above affects spectral sensitivity, speed of response, the variation on photocurrent, electron life time, and decay of photoconductivity with temperature and with intensity of illumination. In the work to be deseribed, these properties have been studied between liquid nitrogen and room temperature. In addition, the electron trap distribution has been correlated with speed of response, variation of photocurrent with temperature in various atmosphere. Four major trapping levels have been observed, and their identification with impurity and vacancy levels is discussed. And also the effects of lattice imperfections on the photoconductive properties CdS were investigated in detail.
