Recently, as high resolution satellites data have been serviced, frequent DSM (Digital Surface Model) generation over urban areas has been possible. In addition, it is possible to detect changes using a high-resolution DSM at building level such that various methods of building change detection using DSM have been studied. In order to detect building changes using DSM, we need to generate a DSM using a stereo satellite image. The change detection method using D-DSM (Differential DSM) uses the elevation difference between two DSMs of different dates. The D-DSM method has difficulty in applying a precise vertical threshold, because between the two DSMs may have elevation errors. In this study, we focus on the urban structure change detection using D-nDSM (Differential nDSM) based on nDSM (Normalized DSM) that expresses only the height of the structures or buildings without terrain elevation. In addition, we attempted to reduce noise using a morphological filtering. Also, in order to improve the roadside buildings extraction precision, we exploited the urban road network extraction from nDSM. Experiments were conducted for high-resolution stereo satellite images of two periods. The experimental results were compared for D-DSM, D-nDSM, and D-nDSM with road extraction methods. The D-DSM method showed the accuracy of about 30% to 55% depending on the vertical threshold and the D-nDSM approaches achieved 59% and 77.9% without and with the morphological filtering, respectively. Finally, the D-nDSM with the road extraction method showed 87.2% of change detection accuracy.
In this study, the free vibration analysis of axially moving beams is investigated according to Reddy-Bickford beam theory (RBT) by using dynamic stiffness method (DSM) and differential transform method (DTM). First of all, the governing differential equations of motion in free vibration are derived by using Hamilton's principle. The nondimensionalised multiplication factors for axial speed and axial tensile force are used to investigate their effects on natural frequencies. The natural frequencies are calculated by solving differential equations using analytical method (ANM). After the ANM solution, the governing equations of motion of axially moving Reddy-Bickford beams are solved by using DTM which is based on Finite Taylor Series. Besides DTM, DSM is used to obtain natural frequencies of moving Reddy-Bickford beams. DSM solution is performed via Wittrick-Williams algorithm. For different boundary conditions, the first three natural frequencies that calculated by using DTM and DSM are tabulated in tables and are compared with the results of ANM where a very good proximity is observed. The first three mode shapes and normalised bending moment diagrams are presented in figures.

Unlike aerial images covering small region, satellite data show high potential to detect urban scale geospatial changes. The change detection using satellite images can be carried out using single image or stereo images. The single image approach is based on radiometric differences between two images of different times. It has limitations to detect building level changes when the significant occlusion and relief displacement appear in the images. In contrast, stereo satellite data can be used to generate DSM (Digital Surface Model) that contain information of relief-corrected objects. Therefore, they have high potential for the object change detection. Therefore, we carried out a study for the change detection over an urban area using stereo satellite data of two different times. First, the RPC correction was performed for two DSMs generation via stereo image matching. Then, D-DSM (Differential DSM) was generated by differentiating two DSMs. The D-DSM was used for the topographic change detection and the performance was checked by applying different height thresholds to D-DSM.
This paper is to study the development of three dimensional Digital Surface Model (DSM) using photogrammetry technique based on self-developed Drone (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)). To develop DSM, we selected a study area in Jeju island and took 24 pictures from the drone. The three dimensional coordinates of the photos were made by Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) surveying with 10 ground control points (GCP). From the calculated three dimensional coordinates, we produced orthographic image and DSM. The accuracy of DSM was calculated using three GCPs. The average accuracy of X and Y was from 8.8 to 14.7 cm, and the accuracy of Z was 0.8 to 12.4 cm. The accuracy was less than the reference accuracy of 1/1,000 digital map provided by National Geographic Information Institute (NGII). From the results, we found that the self-developed drone and the photogrammetry technique are a useful tool to make DSM and digital map of Jeju.

A low-power low-cost polar transmitter for EDGE is designed in $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS. A differential delta-sigma modulator (DSM) tunes a three-terminal voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) to perform RF phase modulation, where the VCO tuning curve is digitally pre-compensated for high linearity and the carrier frequency is calibrated by a dual-mode low-power frequency-locked loop (FLL). A digital intermediate-frequency (IF) pulse-width5 modulator (PWM) drives a complementary power-switch followed by an LC filter to achieve envelope modulation with high efficiency. The proposed transmitter with 9mW power dissipation relaxes the time alignment between the phase and envelope modulations, and achieves an error vector magnitude (EVM) of 4% and phase noise of -123dBc/Hz at 400kHz offset frequency.

In this paper, we propose a gray code order of antenna index permutations for differential spatial modulation (DSM). To facilitate the implementation, the well-known Trotter-Johnson ranking and unranking algorithms are adopted, which result in similar computational complexity to the existing DSM that uses the lexicographic order. The signal-to-noise ratio gain achieved by the proposed gray code order over the lexicographic order is also analyzed and verified via simulations. Based on the gray coding framework, we further propose a diversity-enhancing scheme named intersected gray (I-gray) code order, where the permutations of active antenna indices are selected directly from the odd (or even) positions of the full permutations in the gray code order. From analysis and simulations, it is shown that the I-gray code order can harvest an additional transmit diversity order with respect to the gray code order.

Differential spatial modulation uses the antenna index to transmit information, which improves the spectral efficiency, and completely bypasses any channel side information in the recommended setting. A generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation based on distributed multiple turbo code is put forward and its performances in Rayleigh fading channels is analyzed. The generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is a coded-cooperation communication scheme, in which we proposed a new joint parallel iterative decoding method. Moreover, the code matched interleaver is considered to be the best choice for the generalized multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation schemes, which is the key factor of turbo code. Monte Carlo simulated results show that the proposed cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is better than the corresponding non-cooperative scheme over Rayleigh fading channels in multiple input and output communication system under the same conditions. In addition, the simulation results show that the code matched interleaver scheme gets a better diversity gain as compared to the random interleaver.
In patients with a language developmental delay, it is necessary to make a differential diagnosis for autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), specific language impairment, and mental retardation. It is important that pediatricians recognize the signs and symptoms of ASDs, as many patients with language developmental delays are ultimately diagnosed with ASDs. Pediatricians play an important role in the early recognition of ASDs, because they are usually the first point of contact for children with ASDs. A revision of the diagnostic criteria of ASDs was proposed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition (DSM-5) that was released in May 2013. The autism spectrum describes a range of conditions classified as neurodevelopmental disorders in the fifth edition of the DSM. The new diagnostic criteria encompasses previous elements from the diagnosis of autistic disorder, Asperger disorder, childhood disintegrative disorder, and pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified. An additional change to the DSM includes synthesizing the section on social and communication deficits into one domain. In ASD patients, the appropriate behavioral therapies and rehabilitation treatments significantly affect the prognosis. Therefore, this makes early diagnosis and treatment very important. In conclusion, pediatricians need to be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of ASDs and be attentive to them in order to make an early diagnosis and provide treatment.
In this paper we propose a scheme to generate DTM and detect buildings on DSM generated from LIDAR data. Two stages are performed. The first stage is to perform object segmentation by using two morphology operations namely, flattening and H-Dome transformation. After filtering out the object points above the ground, we used the non-object points to generate DTM. The second stage is to detect buildings from the objects by analyzing differential slopes. The test data is in raster form with 1m spacing around Hsin-Chu Scientific Area in Taiwan. The mean error is -0.16m and the RMSE is 0.45m for DTM generation. The successful rate for building detection is 87.7%.
This paper analytically investigates the free vibration analysis of functionally graded-carbon nanotube reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) plates by dynamic stiffness method (DSM). The properties of CNTRC are determined with the extended rule of mixture. The governing differential equations of motion based on the first-order shear deformation theory of CNTRC plate are derived using Hamilton's principle. The FG-CNTRC plates are studied for a uniform and two different distributions of carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The accuracy and performance of the DSM are compared with the results obtained from closed closed-form and semi-analytical solution methods in previous studies. In this study, the effects of boundary condition, distribution type of CNTs, plate aspect ratio, plate length to thickness ratio, and different values of CNTs volume fraction on the natural frequencies of the FG-CNTRC plates are investigated. Finally, various natural frequencies of the plates in different conditions are provided as a benchmark for comparing the accuracy and precision of the other analytical and numerical methods.
