  • Paul Hocker has developed new attacks based on the electric consumption of cryptographic device such as smartcard that performs cryptographic computation. Among those attacks, the Differential Power Analysis(DPA) is one of the most impressive and most difficult to avoid. By analysing the power dissipation of encryption in a device, the secret information inside can be deduced. This paper presents that Advanced Encryption Standard(AES) is highly vulnerable to DPA and readily leaks away all secret keys through the experimental results for DPA. After all, it is required an implementation of the AES algorithm that is not vulnerable to DPA. We also propose countermeasures that employ asynchronous circuit.

  • In this paper, we provide numerical analysis of so-called Legendre Gauss-Radau and Legendre-Gauss collocation methods for ordinary differential equations. After recasting these collocation methods as Runge-Kutta methods, we prove that the Legendre-Gauss collocation method is equivalent to the well-known Gauss method, while the Legendre-Gauss-Radau collocation method does not belong to the classes of Radau IA or Radau IIA methods in the Runge-Kutta literature. Making use of the well-established theory of Runge-Kutta methods, we study stability and accuracy of the Legendre-Gauss-Radau collocation method. Numerical experiments are conducted to confirm our theoretical results on the accuracy and numerical stability of the Legendre-Gauss-Radau collocation method, and compare Legendre-Gauss collocation method with the Gauss method.

  • The present study gives an apprximate equation of circular cylindrical shell on the basis of Flugges's exact theory. The longitudinal bending moment .MU.$\_$x/ and circumferential strain .epsilon.$\_$.theta. are assumed to be small to be small and have been neglected. The governing equation of the cylindrical shell, which is generaly presented as 8th order partial differential equation, is reduced into a 4th order partial differential equation for axial coordinate. To verify the validity and accuracy of this approximate theory, the cantilever cylindrical shell subjected to a concentrated load is analyzed. The maximum errors of longitudinal stress and deflection are about 10 percent compared with the analysis by flugge's theory and are about 15 percent with experimental results.

  • This paper describes a rollover index (RI)-based rollover mitigation control (RMC) system. A rollover index which indicates an impending rollover has been developed by a roll dynamics phase plane analysis. The rollover index is calculated using the roll angle, the roll rate, the lateral acceleration and time to wheel lift (TTWL). A differential braking control law based on a 2-D bicycle model has been designed using the direct yaw control (DYC) method. An RMC threshold has been determined from the rollover index. The performance of the RMC scheme and the effectiveness of the proposed rollover index are illustrated using a vehicle simulator.

  • We designed the compound CVT (Continuously Variable Transmissions) by combining power circulation mode CVT and power split mode CVT, which have been proposed for connecting 2K-H I differential gear to the V- belt type CVU (Continuously Variable Unit), as an input coupled type. With the designed compound CVT, we carried out theoretical analysis and performance experiments. We proved that the compound CVT had a better performance than either of the power circulation mode or power split mode.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the coastal nightscape of Yeong-Do in Busan in order to make an effective management plan of coastal nightscape. Firstly the coastal area of Yeong-Do has been divided into 8 nightscape sections. And then the nightscape images of each section have been evaluated by volunteer subjects through SD(semantic differential) analysis method.

  • The concepts of graph theory are applied to model and analyze dynamics of computer networks, biochemical networks and, semantics of social networks. The analysis of dynamics of complex networks is important in order to determine the stability and performance of networked systems. The analysis of non-stationary and nonlinear complex networks requires the applications of ordinary differential equations (ODE). However, the process of resolving input excitation to the dynamic non-stationary networks is difficult without involving external functions. This paper proposes an analytical formulation for generating solutions of nonlinear network ODE systems with functional decomposition. Furthermore, the input excitations are analytically resolved in linearized dynamic networks. The stability condition of dynamic networks is determined. The proposed analytical framework is generalized in nature and does not require any domain or range constraints.

  • In this study, basic concepts of magnet were introduced, and dynamic characteristics of magnet coupling were explored. Based on these characteristics, it was proposed how to analyze transverse and torsional vibrations of a spindle system with magnet coupling. Proposed theoretical approaches were applied to a precision power transmission system machined for this study, and the transverse and torsional vibrations were simulated. The force on magnet coupling was shown as a form of nonlinear function of the gap and the eccentricity. Also, the form of torque transmitted by magnet coupling was considered as a sinusoidal function. Main spindle connected to a coupling of a follower part was assumed to be a rigid body. Nonlinear partial differential equation was derived to be as a function of angular displacement. By using the equation, torsional vibration analysis of a spindle system with magnet coupling was performed. Free and forced vibration analyses of a spindle system with magnetic coupling were explored by using FEM.

  • To obtain the solution to the time-dependent particle size distribution of an aerosol undergoing gravitational coagulation, the moment method was used which converts the non linear integro-differential equation to a set of ordinary differential equations. A semi-numerical solution was obtained using this method. Subsequently, an analytic solution was given by approximating the collision kernel into a form suitable for the analysis. The results show that during gravitational coagulation, the geometric standard deviation increases and the geometric mean radius decreases as time increases.
