Video Abstracting Using Scene Change Detection and Shot Clustering for Construction of Efficient Video Database (대용량 비디오 데이터베이스 구축을 위하여 장면전환 검출과 샷 클러스터링을 이용한 비디오 개요 추출)

  • Video viewers can not understand enough entire video contents because most video is long length data of large capacity. This paper propose efficient scene change detection and video abstracting using new shot clustering to solve this problem. Scene change detection is extracted by method that was merged color histogram with $\chi2$ histogram. Clustering is performed by similarity measure using difference of local histogram and new shot merge algorithm. Furthermore, experimental result is represented by using Real TV broadcast program.

  • In this study, about the fatigue life of welded structure material under fluctuation loading, the prediction life which is produced by using the Histogram Recorder System was compared with the experimental life which is produced by the RMC model which is imported by conception of equivalent stress. In this result, this is represented few difference by comparing prediction life which is produced by damage analysis depended on Miner's rule, by using the Histogram Recorder System, with experimental life which is produced by the RMC load model which is imported by conception of equivalent of stress, therefore fatigue life is easily predicted by using Histogram Recorder System, and result of prediction has equivalent accuracy with other method which is more complex than the Histogram Recorder System. Besides the damage which is produced by stress which is high thirty percentage rank in the stress range of damage inducing, is nearly equal to the damage which is induced the rest of seventy percentage, there fore we can see that damage accumulation which is induced few time overload which is effected welded structure material is great.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive thresholding for edge detection. first, we got histograms for background image and image with moving object, respectively. Then we make difference histogram between histograms of background and object image. A thresholding value is decided using gradient of peak to peak in the difference histogram. The experimentation is processed using a moving car in the road. The result is that edge is detected well regardless of the brightness.

  • First, this paper compute difference value between frames using the composed method of $X^2$ histogram and color histogram and the normalization. Next, cluster representative frame was decided by using the clustering for distance and the k-mean grouping. Finally, representative frame of group was decided by using the likelihood ratio. Proposed method can be known by experiment as outstanding of detection rather than other methods, due to computing of difference value, clustering and grouping, and detecting of representative frame.

  • In this paper, we propose a new reversible image authentication technique based on watermarking where if the image is authentic, the distortion due to embedding can be completely removed from the watermarked image after the hidden data has been extracted. This technique utilizes histogram characteristics of the difference image and modifies pixel values slightly to embed more data than other reversible data hiding algorithm. The proposed scheme is quite simple and the execution time is rather short. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can detect any modifications of the watermarked image.

  • In this paper, we proposed a Hangeul detection method using structural features of histogram, consonant, and vowel to solve the problem of Hangul which is separated and detected consonant and vowel The proposed method removes background by using DoG (Difference of Gaussian) to remove unnecessary noise in Hangul detection process. In the image with the background removed, we converted it to a binarized image using a cumulative histogram. Then, the horizontal position histogram was used to find the position of the character string, and character combination was performed using the vertical histogram in the found character image. However, words with a consonant vowel such as '가', '라' and '귀' are combined using a structural characteristic of characters because they are difficult to combine into one character. In this experiment, an image composed of alphabets with various backgrounds, an image composed of Korean characters, and an image mixed with alphabets and Hangul were tested. The detection rate of the proposed method is about 2% lower than that of the K-means and MSER character detection method, but it is about 5% higher than that of the character detection method including Hangul.

  • Reversible watermarking which can preserve the original quality of the digital contents and protect the copyright has been studied actively. Especially, in medical, military, and art fields, the need for reversible watermarking is increasing. This paper proposes a high-capacity reversible watermarking through predicted error expansion and error estimation compensation. Watermark is embedded by expanding the difference histogram between the original value and the predicted value. Differently from previous methods calculating the difference between adjacent pixels, the presented method calculates the difference between the original value and the predicted value, and that increases the number of the histogram value, where the watermark is embedded. As a result, the high capacity is achieved. The inserted watermark is extracted by restoring the histogram between the original value and the predicted value. To prove the performance, the presented algorithm is compared with other previous methods on various test images. The result supports that the presented algorithm has a perfect reversibility, a high image quality, and a high capacity.

  • Leak detection in a pipeline usually involves acoustic emission sensors such as contact type sensors. These contact type sensors pose difficulties for installation and cannot operate in areas having high temperature and radiation. Therefore, recently, many researchers have studied the leak detection phenomenon by using a camera. Leak detection by using a camera has the advantages of long distance monitoring and wide area surveillance. However, the conventional leak detection method by using difference images often mistakes the vibration of a structure for a leak. In this paper, we propose a method for steam leakage detection by using the moving average of difference images and histogram analysis. The proposed method can separate the leakage and the vibration of a structure. The working performance of the proposed method is verified by comparing with experimental results.

A Texture Classification Based on LBP by Using Intensity Differences between Pixels (화소간의 명암차를 이용한 LBP 기반 질감분류)

  • This paper presents a local binary pattern(LBP) for effectively classifying textures, which is based on the multidimensional intensity difference between the adjacent pixels in the block image. The intensity difference by considering the a extent of 4 directional changes(verticality, horizontality, diagonality, inverse diagonality) in brightness between the adjacent pixels is applied to reduce the computation load as a results of decreasing the levels of histogram for classifying textures of image. And the binary patterns that is represented by the relevant intensities within a block image, is also used to effectively classify the textures by accurately reflecting the local attributes. The proposed method has been applied to classify 24 block images from USC Texture Mosaic #2 of 128*128 pixels gray image. The block images are different in size and texture. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a speedy classification and makes a free size block images classify possible. In particular, the proposed method gives better results than the conventional LBP by increasing the range of histogram level reduction as the block size becomes larger.
