$Li_2CO_3$가 첨가된 BST후막의 열처리조건에 따른 유전특정 (Effect of the Addition of $Li_2CO_3$ on Dielectric Properties of Barium Strontium Titanate Thick Film with Annealing Condition)

  • The dielectric Properties of add $Li_2CO_3$ to ($Ba_{0.6}Sr_{0.4})TiO_3$ powder in this research, made thick film by tape casting method and annealing at $970^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours each from the $O_2$, Ar and O2-plasma atmosphere were investigated. The dielectric Properties of Ar atmosphere was to higher with tunability. The dielectric constant was increased and Curie temperature was shifted to higher temperature with increasing of annealing temperature.

  • $(Pb_{1-x}Sr_x)TiO_3$ $(0.6{\leq}x{\leq}0.8)$ thin films were prepared by the MOD method for tunable microwave device application and their characteristics were investigated as a function of Sr content(x) and applied field. Thin films showed a homogeneous microstructure and the tetragonality(c/a) was slightly decreased with increasing Sr content. With increasing Sr content, Curie temperature of the thin films showed a decreasing tendency. For the PST thin films, the dielectric constant at room temperature, Tc, and $tan{\delta}$ were 750~1900, $-70^{\circ}{\sim}-30^{\circ}C$ and 0.025~0.04, respectively.

  • [ $(Ba,Sr,Ca)TiO_3$ ] powders, prepared by the sol-gel method, were mixed with an organic vehicle and the BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen printing techniques on alumina substrates. The grain size decreased with increasing amounts of $MnO_2$, and the BSCT(50/40/10) thick film doped with 1wt% $MnO_2$ showed a value of 6.5mm. The thickness of thick films by four-cycle on printing/drying was approximately 100mm. The relative dielectric constant, dielectric loss and tunability of the BSCT(S0/40/10) thick films doped with 1.0wt% $MnO_2$ were 1296, 0.61% and 11.18%, respectively.

Dielectric properties of KTN(80/20) thin films with pzt buffer layer for tunable microwave devices

  • K(Ta0.80Nb0.20)O3 films with Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3PZT buffer layer on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate were fabricated by sol-gel and spin-coating method. Structural and electrical properties were measured with variation of the sintering temperature, and the applicability to microwave materials was investigated. All K(Ta0.80Nb0.20)O3 films showed a cubic crystal structure. Average grain size was about 123~193 nm and average thickness of the K(Ta0.80Nb0.20)O3 films was approximately 366 nm. Through the AFM results, root mean square roughness (Rrms) of all K(Ta0.80Nb0.20)O3 films was around 6 nm. All K(Ta0.80Nb0.20)O3 films showed a tendency to increase dielectric loss as frequency increased. As the sintering temperature increased, tunability with an applied DC voltage indicated a decreasing tendency. Tunability and temperature coefficient of the K(Ta0.80Nb0.20)O3 film sintered at 700 ℃ showed good values of 22.1% at 10 V, -0.594/℃.

가변형 박막 유전체에 전극을 임베디드 시킨 고가 변형 커패시터 (A High Tunable Capacitor Embedding Its Electrodes in Tunable Thin Film Dielectrics)

  • 본 논문에서는 가변형 $Bi_2O_3-ZnO-Nb_2O_5(BZN)$ Pyrochlore 박막을 이용한 고가변형 inter-digital capacitor를 제안하였다. 가장자리 전계 효과를 이용한 가변성의 향상과 DC 전압의 감소를 위해 inter-digital capacitor의 전극이 박막 내부에 삽입되었다. 2.5D simulator를 이용한 설계 결과, 제 안된 구조의 inter-digital capacitor(IDC)가 일반적인 구조의 IDC에 비해 가변성이 10 % 향상되었다. 제안된 IDC는 설계 결과를 바탕으로 실리콘 기판 위에 BZN 박막을 이용하여 제작되었다. BZN 박막은 reactive RF magnetron sputtering 방법을 이용하여 증착되었다. 제작된 inter-digital capacitor는 5.8 GHz와 18 V의 DC 인가 전압에서 최대 가변율이 50 %였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 BSTO 강유전체를 이용한 가변 대역통과필터들을 4가지 유형의 예를 들어 제안한다. 제안 기술에서 인가 전압이 증가할수록 강유전체의 유효 유전율은 비선형적으로 감소하고 따라서 중심 주파수가 높은 쪽으로 이동한다 이 때 사용하는 강유전체로는 STO와 BSTO가 있는데 STO는 100K 이하의 저온에서, BSTO는 실온에서 주로 사용한다. 본 제안 기술은 차세대 무선통신 기술 발전에 매우 유용하게 기여 할 것으로 보인다.

  • In recent years, the merging of nanomaterials and nano-technology into electro-optic (EO) device technology such as liquid crystal displays (LCDs) has attracted much attention because of their unique electro- and magneto-optic properties and novel display applications. One example of hybrid LC-inorganic systems is semiconductor nanorods added to LC for their strong reorientation effect and tunable refractive index. Doping of nanoparticles in LC or polymers can lead to changes in performance characteristics such as electro-optical, dielectric, memory effect, phase behavior, etc. Due to the tunability of LCDs with mixed inorganic materials, low voltage operation of a LC system can also be achieved using the significant electro-optical effect achieved through suspension of ferroelectric nanoparticles in NLC.

  • In-situ photopolymerization of alkyl acrylate monomers in the presence of a nematic fluid provides a cellular matrix of liquid crystalline droplets in which the chemical structure of the encapsulating polymer exerts control over the alignment (anchoring) of the liquid crystalline molecules. Control is obtained by variation of the alkyl side chains and through copolymerization of two dissimilar monofunctional acrylates. Two monofunctional acrylates with opposing tendencies on copolymerization provide control over the tunability of anchoring over a wide temperature range. Using various acrylates we show that a uniform vertical alignment can be achieved over a large area. Utilizing this technique and a nematic with negative dielectric anisotropy, we have fabricated highly flexible liquid crytal based devices, with high contrast and fast response time, without using any alignment layer.

CFD 구조의 마이크로스트립 라인 가변 대역통과필터 설계 (Design of CFD Structured Microstrip Line Bandpass Filter)

  • 본 논문에서는 CFB 구조에 기반한 마이크로스트립 라인을 이용하여 커플링 개수가 3개인 가변 대역통과 필터를 제안한다. 바이어스 전압을 증가시키면 강유전체의 실효 유전율($\varepsilon$eff)이 감소하고, 감소된 실효 유전율은 중심 주파수를 높은 값으로 이동시킨다 설계된 필터는 $\varepsilon$eff이 13~10에 걸쳐, 반사 손실이 10 dB 이상, 삽입손실이 3.5 dB 이하, 3-dB 대역폭이 1.18 GHz 이하, 중심 주파수는 25.4 GHz에서 28.8 GHz까지 이동하므로 가변성은 3.4 GHz에 달하는 특성을 보인다. 필터의 크기는 7.0 mm ${\times}$ 5.0 mm ${\times}$ 0.5 mm이다.

Characterization of BST films for high tunable thin film capacitor

  • This is for the electrical characterization by IDC pattern using BST$(Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}TiO_3)$ thin film. BST materials had been chosen for high frequency applications due to it's high permitivity and tunability. The BST thin films have been deposited on $Al_2O_3$ Substrates by Nd-YAG pulsed laser deposition with a 355nm wavelength at $700\;^{\circ}C$. The post deposition annealing at $750^{\circ}C$ in flowing $O_2$ atmosphere for 1 hours. The capacitance of IDC patterns have been measured from 1 to 10 GHz as a function of electric field ($\pm40$ KV/cm) at room temperature using inter-digital Au electrodes deposited on top of BST. The IDC patterns have three type of fingers number. For the 10 pairs finger was the best capacitance onto $Al_2O_3$ substrate. The capacitance was 0.9pF. Also Dielectric constant was been 351 at 100 mTorr and annealing temperature $750^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The loss tangent was been 0.00531.
