Objective: This study is conducted on the differences between flat and curved displays with respect to location of focused points, posture and satisfaction as well as preferred tilt angles. Background: In order to avoid physical and eye fatigue caused by misplayed sitting posture, many studies have asserted that the display requires appropriate location, size and tilt angle as well as curvature. However, most studies have focused on the work environment and the results are varied in the extent. Method: Eye height data in sitting posture were collected from 30 participants. Participants selected the most comfortable viewing angle within the range from $0^{\circ}$ to $12^{\circ}$ while watching videos for both curved and flat display. Then, physical and eye fatigue and overall satisfaction were subjectively evaluated. Lateral diagram describing viewing display condition was set and used to develop linear models for expecting the preferred tilt angle. Results: Due to sitting in the natural viewing posture rather than upright, the eye height is lowered to about 4.6 centimeters, on average, for both displays showing no significant differences. In contrast, preferred angles for the two displays are significantly different and this can be interpreted that curvature vary the points focused. Two linear models as functions of sitting eye height are developed to expect preferred tilt angle for each display. Based on the result of overall satisfaction evaluation, curved display is statistically better than flat display. Conclusion: The results show that flat and curved displays are significantly different expect for the viewing posture. However, reasons for preferring curved display are not accurately factorized and the linear models are limited in the experiment condition such as size of display, distance between display and viewer and other physical environmental factors. Further studies on curved displays under more various conditions are required. Application: This study can contribute to use of the curved display in various way.

A rotordynamic analysis was performed with a decant-type centrifuge, which is a kind of industrial centrifuge. The system is composed of screw rotor, bowl rotor, driving motors, gear box, and support rolling element bearings. These rotors have a rated speed of 4300 rpm, and were modeled utilizing a rotordynamic FE method for analysis, which was verified through 3-D FE analysis. Design goals are to achieve wide separation margins of lateral critical speeds, and favorable unbalance responses of the rotor in the operating range. Then, a complex analysis rotordynamic analysis of the system was carried out to evaluate its forward synchronous critical speeds and mode shapes, whirl natural frequencies, and unbalance responses under various balance grade. As a result of analysis, the rotordynamic analysis performed by separating a screw rotor and bowl rotor may cause an error in predicting critical speed of entire system. Therefore, the rotordynamic analysis of a coupled rotor combining a screw and bowl rotor must be performed in order to more accurately estimate dynamic characteristics of the decanter-type centrifuge as presented in this paper. Also, rolling element bearings with suitable stiffness should be selected to keep enough separation margin. In addition, in establishing balance grade of a screw and bowl rotor, ISO G2.5 balance grade is more recommended than ISO G6.3, in particular balancing correction of a screw rotor based on ISO G2.5 grade is strongly recommended.

HgCdTe Is the most versatile material for the developing infrared devices. Not like III-V compound semiconductors or silicon-based photo-detecting materials, HgCdTe has unique characteristics such as adjustable bandgap, very high electron mobility, and large difference between electron and hole mobilities. Many research groups have been interested in this material since early 70's, but mainly due to its thermodynamic difficulties for preparing materials, no single growth technique is appreciated as a standard growth technique in this research field. Solid state recrystallization(SSR), travelling heater method(THM), and Bridgman growth are major techniques used to grow bulk HgCdTe material. Materials with high quality and purity can be grown using these bulk growth techniques, however, due to the large separation between solidus and liquidus line on the phase diagram, it is very difficult to grow large materials with minimun defects. Various epitaxial growth techniques were adopted to get large area HgCdTe and among them liquid phase epitaxy(LPE), metal organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD), and molecular beam epitaxy(MBE) are most frequently used techniques. There are also various types of photo-detectors utilizing HgCdTe materials, and photovoltaic and photoconductive devices are most interested types of detectors up to these days. For the larger may detectors, photovoltaic devices have some advantages over power-requiring photoconductive devices. In this paper we reported the main results on the HgCdTe growing and characterization including LPE and MOCVD, device fabrication and its characteristics such as single element and linear array($8{\times}1$ PC, $128{\times}1$ PV and 4120{\times}1$ PC). Also we included the results of the dewar manufacturing, assembling, and optical and environmental test of the detectors.
Recently, it is more important to do part of software designers for developing user-centered software. They produce visual document for helping communication between developers and visual diagram for analyzing user need factors based on user scenario. Case study of architecture real dispatch service can show developing samples. It is important to produce visual document for one combined opinion between developers in process of defining of development boundary, main concept development, selecting of development system. And visual document process with visual language by software designer is step for recognizing of user need factors before developing interface design in process of collecting design factors of user and environment and analyzing design factor by user scenario. Also, in process of interface and prototype development, it need visual document for peaceful and concord process between developers. Those visual documents with visual language could help to define developers role and duty, user-centered concept development and various interface development proposal during software developing.

This study was performed to propose the site selection plan for the restoration of the target Narrow-mouth Frog(Kaloula borealis) habitat, and has developed the AHP model to select the optimal site for narrow-mouth frog habitat restoration on the basis of the narrow-mouth frog Habitat Suitability Index (HSI) items (factors and variables). The assessment areas were established by the narrow-mouth frog HSI factors such as space, feed, cover, water(breeding), threatening factors and others, and the sub-assessment items by each assessment area were established based on the narrow-mouth frog HSI variables. The weighting values of the assessment areas and items were calculated by the developed AHP method. The weighting values of the 5 assessment areas were arranged in order as cover(0.283), water(breeding)(0.276), feed(0.230), space(0.147), and threatening factor(0.064). The final weighting values of the 14 assessment items were arranged in order of height as low-rise grassland(0.190), soil quality(0.178), and stones and between the stones(0.105). The scoring criteria according to the assessment items and factors were marked and applied by equal intervals considering the criteria by HSI items of the narrow-mouth frog and finally the scoring criteria diagram has been proposed for the optimal site selection of the narrow-mouth frog habitat restoration.

Logistics systems provide their service to customers by coordinating the resources with limited capacity throughout the underlying processes involved to each other. To maintain the high level of service under such complicated condition, it is essential to carry out the real-time monitoring and continuous management of logistics processes. In this study, we propose a method of estimating the service completion time of key processes based on process-state information collected in real time. We first identify the factors that influence the process completion time by modeling and analyzing an influence diagram, and then suggest algorithms for quantifying the factors. We suppose the container terminal logistics and the process of discharging and loading containers to a vessel. The remaining service time of a vessel is estimated using a decision tree which is the result of machine-learning using historical data. We validated the estimation model using container terminal simulation. The proposed model is expected to improve competitiveness of logistics systems by forecasting service completion in real time, as well as to prevent the waste of resources.

Conformance testing for embedded software is to check whether software was correctly implemented according to software specification or not. In conformance testing, test scenarios must be extracted to cover every test cases of software. In a general way, test scenarios simply focus on testing all functions at least one time. But, test scenarios are necessary to consider efficiency of test execution. In this paper, we propose a test scenario extraction method by considering function's execution time and waiting time for user interaction. A test model is a graph model which is generated from state machine diagram and test cases in software specification. The test model is augmented by describing test execution time and user interaction information. Based on the test model, test scenarios are extracted by a modified Dijkstra's algorithm. Our test scenario approach can reduce testing time and improve test automation.
In this paper, the non-linear time-dependent closed-form, discrete and combined solutions for the post-elastic response of a geometrically and physically non-linear suspended cable to a uniformly distributed load considering the creep effects, are presented. The time-dependent closed-form method for the particularly straightforward determination of a vertical uniformly distributed load applied over the entire span of a cable and the accompanying deflection at time t corresponding to the elastic limit and/or to the elastic region, post-elastic and failure range of a suspended cable is described. The actual stress-strain properties of steel cables as well as creep of cables and their rheological characteristics are considered. In this solution, applying the Irvine's theory, the direct use of experimental data, such as the actual stress-strain and strain-time properties of high-strength steel cables, is implemented. The results obtained by the closed-form solution, i.e., a load corresponding to the elastic limit, post-elastic and failure range at time t, enable the direct use in the discrete non-linear time-dependent post-elastic analysis of a suspended cable. This initial value of load is necessary for the non-linear time-dependent elastic and post-elastic discrete analysis, concerning incremental and iterative solution strategies with tangent modulus concept. At each time step, the suspended cable is analyzed under the applied load and imposed deformations originated due to creep. This combined time-dependent approach, based on the closed-form solution and on the FEM, allows a prediction of the required load that occurs in the post-elastic region. The application of the described methods and derived equations is illustrated by numerical examples.

In order to overcome the problems with first generation expert systems at the symbol level, recently various knowledge level development techniques of second generation expert systems have been proposed. But, these techniques are conceptual modelling techniques. This paper modifies and complements these conceptual modelling techniques and proposes a Task Object Modelling (TOM) technique as a practical knowledge level expert system development technique. This paper defines a Task Object(TO) as a knowledge unit consisted of a goal, execution conditions, behaviour knowledge, and so on. And, we define a Task Object Diagram(TOD) to depict structual, dynamic, and functional aspects of TO easily. We also define Inference Types as basic units to describe behaviour knowledge of TOs. In order to utilize the proposed TOM technique as not a simple conceptual modelling technique but a practical second generalion expert system development technique, we implement a TOD editor, a TO editor, and TO processing algorithm based on the state of TOs. Also we implement a Inference Types Library, in which each inference type is corresponded to an IRE(Jntelligent Rules Element) method, to transform the defined inference types into IRE methods automatically.
