The purpose of this study is to provide basic data that mother's smart phone overdependence prevention education are needed by confirming the relationship between mother' s smartphone overdependence and parent role intelligence. The research subjects were 220 mothers of 0-2 years old who are attending 15 day care centers in Cheong-ju, Chung-buk. The research tool used smartphone overdependence scale, and parent role intelligence scale. For the analysis of the study, frequency analysis, Pearson's Ratio correlation and regression analysis were performed. The results showed that mother's smartphone overdependence was negatively correlated with parental role intelligence and negatively correlated with developmental stimulation, parenting, support, and management. The multiple regression analysis showed that there was a significant negative effect on the smartphone overdependency, parent role intelligence, and sub factors. This suggests that smartphone overdependence prevention education for mother should be needed for nurturing of desirable infants.

PURPOSE: High-intensity physical therapy may help improve some gross motor developmental delays through an increased treatment frequency. This study describes an increase in physical therapy frequency and intensity over an eight-week time frame for a child with a rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorder. METHODS: A single-subject research was performed. The subject was a nine-year-old boy with MECP2 Duplication Syndrome. The outcome measure consisted of one time before and after the intervention. An intensive physical therapy program was applied to this subject. The treatments included reciprocal crawling, high kneeling, tailor sitting, weight-bearing and shifting training to facilitate ankle balance strategies and training to walk without assistance. RESULTS: After the eight-week follow-up, the child achieved a gradual improvement in the gross motor function measures, and the mother reported that the child frequently engaged in tailor sitting and independently walking. CONCLUSION: This case study highlights that intensive physical therapy improved the overall motor function of a child with MECP2 duplication syndrome.
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether group play therapy is effective in reducing problem behaviors of children with developmental disabilities. The subjects of study were in special schools and 5 children with disabilities using short-term care centers for the disabled, The research period was 12 sessions of 40 minutes twice a week using winter vacation from January 2, 2018 to January 28, The measuring tool, K-CBCL, was used to observe behavioral changes qualitatively. The summary of this study is as follows. First, children with disabilities significantly reduced their aggressiveness, atrophy, depression, and anxiety, and increased their activity during each session. Second, problem behaviors decreased after the intervention of group play therapy, and there were more decreases in internalization problems than externalization problems. The results of this study suggest that group play therapy is meaningful in reducing problem behavior according to the individual characteristics of children with disabilities.
This study The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of online lifelong education in a home using contents of university-affiliated lifelong education center on the acquisition and generalization of cooking task skills for persons with developmental disabilities. The subjects of this study were three persons with developmental disabilities who lived with their parents in the home without employment after graduation from school. The research design and method used the technique of multiple probe design across subjects during the single subject research. As a result of the study, the three persons with developmental disabilities who participated in the study effectively acquired cooking task skills through online lifelong education in the home using contents of university-affiliated lifelong education center, and generalized the performance of cooking task skills in the actual restaurant environment, not at home.
Purpose : Early identification of developmental disabilities allows intervention at the earliest possible point to improve the developmental potential. The Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), a parent- completed questionnaire, can be used as a substitute for formal screening tests. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity of the Korean version of the ASQ (K-ASQ) as a screening tool for detecting developmental delay of young Korean children in the setting of a busy pediatric outpatient clinic. Methods : Parents completed the K-ASQ in the waiting room of the pediatric outpatient clinic of St. Mary's Hospital, Catholic University Medical College. Out of 150 completed the ASQ, 67 who were born term and had no previous diagnosis of developmental delay, congenital anomalies, or neurological abnormalities were enrolled. The cut-off values of less than 2 standard deviations (SD) below the mean for the ASQ were used to define a "fail", and children who failed in one or more domains tested were classified as "screen-positive". Diagnosis of developmental delay was made when the developmental indices fell below -1 SD of the Bayley Scales of Infant Development-II. Results : (1) The mean age of children was $16.4{\pm}7.4$ months. Ten children (14.9%) were small-for- gestational age infants. The mean birth weight and gestational age were $3.1{\pm}0.6kg$ and $38.8{\pm}1.4$ weeks. Nine children (13.4%) were twins and 33 (49.0%) were male. The mean maternal education in years was $13.6{\pm}2.4$, and 31.3% had full-time jobs. The time for completing the ASQ was $10.2{\pm}3.0$ minutes. (2) Seventeen children (25.4%) were classified as screen-positive, four of them were delayed in development. Among eight children diagnosed with developmental delay, four were screen-positive and the other four were screen-negative by the ASQ. (3) The test characteristics of the ASQ were as follows: sensitivity (50.0%); specificity (78.0%); positive predictive value (23.5%); negative predictive value (92.0%). Conclusion : The high negative predictive value of the K-ASQ supports its use as a screening tool for developmental delay in the setting of a pediatric outpatient clinic.

The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the vocabulary and problem-solving ability characteristics of adolescents with developmental disabilities related to leisure and recreation and use them as basic data in education and support of recreation activities for adolescents with developmental disabilities. The study participants were comprised of adolescents with developmental disabilities, divided into two groups based on their receptive language age: those under 10 years old and those 10 years and older. The results obtained through this study are as follows. First, there was a significant difference in leisure and recreation vocabulary between the two groups according to receptive language age. Second, there was a significant difference in problem-solving ability between the two groups based on their receptive language age. Third, the analysis of the correlation between leisure and recreation vocabulary and problem-solving abilities within each group revealed that the under 10 years old group showed the highest correlation in basic vocabulary and basic problem-solving abilities, while the 10 years and older group exhibited the highest correlation in intermediate and advanced levels of problem-solving abilities. Fourth, the analysis of incorrect responses to leisure and recreation vocabulary showed a high rate of selecting vocabulary related to similar topics as incorrect answers. Additionally, the analysis of overreactions to problem-solving abilities indicated an increasing tendency of incorrect responses in items requiring context comprehension. Additionally, the analysis of incorrect responses to problem-solving abilities indicated a tendency of higher error rates in items requiring context comprehension. The results of this study provide insights for discussing directions in communication-related skills education for the smooth recreation life of adolescents with developmental disabilities. Accordingly, it is expected to be utilized as foundational information for educational and support programs aimed at the successful recreation activities of adolescents with developmental disabilities.
