Wind Field Change Simulation before and after the Regional Development of the Eunpyeong Area at Seoul Using a CFD_NIMR_SNU Model (CFD_NIMR_SNU 모형을 활용한 은평구 건설 전후의 바람환경 변화 모사 연구)

  • Newly constructed, high-rise dense building areas by urban development can cause changes in local wind fields. Wind fields were analyzed to assess the impact on the local meteorology due to the land use changes during the urban redevelopment called "Eunpyeong new town" in north-western Seoul using CFD_NIMR_SNU (Computational Fluid Dynamics, National Institute of Meteorological Research, Seoul National University) model. Initial value of wind speed and direction use analysis value of AWS (Automatic Weather Station) data during 5 years. In the case of the pre-construction with low rise built-up area, it was simulated that the spatial distribution of horizontal wind fields depends on the topography and wind direction of initial inflow. But, in the case of the post-construction with high rise built-up area, it was analyzed that the wind field was affected by high rise buildings as well as terrain. High-rise buildings can generate new circulations among buildings. In addition, small size vortexes were newly generated by terrain and high rise buildings after the construction. As high-rise buildings act as a barrier, we found that the horizontal wind flow was separated and wind speed was reduced behind the buildings. CFD_NIMR_SNU was able to analyze the impact of high-rise buildings during the urban development. With the support of high power computing, it will be more common to utilize sophisticated numerical analysis models such as CFD_NIMR_SNU in evaluating the impact of urban development on wind flow or channel.

  • This study attempted to proposed the strategies for development of peach packinghouses. The overview of the conditions of existing peach packinghouses located Chongdo county was provided. Then, the grading system of packinghouse was newly suggested. In empirical analysis, the optimal size, location, and equipments were taken into account for the case of establishing new packinghouse. The main finding of this study was that the planning and construction of peach packinghouse should be executed in accordance with the regional peculiarities. Specifically, First, the packinghouse could make higher profit by high-quality goods using realistic grading/standardization. It would be preferred by customers that the effective itemization of fruits like peach. Second, it would be necessary that the scale of packinghouse was examinated in the county or town level. Third, in order to make an effective management of the packinghouse, several alternatives for operation were suggested. Also the software of packinghouse should be arranged to satisfy the packinghouse, producers, and customers.

  • This paper reviews the one of problems that may occure for the tram operating in Korea, it's a free-riding problem, I analyzed the feasibility of combining the introduction of world-class technology solution "IT". It is under review the introduction of tram in Su-won city, Chang-won city, Wi-Rye new town. Free-riding is one of the biggest issues of any agency that operates the public transportation system. It has been acting as the main factors threatening the financial integrity of the operating agency, and the ratio of free-riding is further increased. In this paper, I want to build a foundation for the development of the system by analyzing the economic feasibility for the introduction of free-riding prevention system.

Father-son Communication Across the Developmental Stages (발달단계에 따른 아버지와 아들의 의사소통)

  • This study examined the relationships between father and son through son's developmental stages focusing on the father-son communication. The researcher conducted the survey among 600 male students including the 5th grade elementary students, the 2nd grade middle school students and the 2nd grade high school students residing new areas of town Pusan. The results of this study are as follows. It showed that there are some differences in function and content of father-son communication. Also it develomental stages was revealed that there is the quality differences in father-son communication through son's develomental stages. Elementary students was higher levels of father-son communication quality than those of middle and high schools. In conclusion, the results of this study showed that the relationship between father and son is changing through son's developmental stages. If father can recognize the characteristics of the developmental stages of their son's, they would be more effectively cope their sons' development demand.

An Alternative Model on Hierachial Settlement System in Rural Areas (농어촌지역 하위정주체계 모형의 대안설정)

  • In rural settlement planning, its spatial development framework should be constructed on the basis of the hierachial settlement system. However, up to now, there does not exist widely - accepted model on rural settlement hierachy. In this study the basic planning principles and directions on the modelling of the settlement hireachy in rural areas have been consolidated through theoretical study and situational analysis on planning environments. And also, a new yardstick on the grading of the middle - level centers between villages and rural towns has been tried to find out. The research resulted that the existance of periodical rural market might be used as a simple and innovative yardstick on the hierachial ordering of rural settlement system. Based on the above results, an alternative 4 - step model of rural settlement hierachy was proposed ; Rural Town(county hall sitted) -Market Center(having standard periodical market) - Village Center(having no market) - Village. Finally, because the conclusion has been made by very limited case studies and several previous works, there should need continuous studies and checks in future for full reasoning of the proposed model.

  • Comparison between photocatalysis and sonophotocatalysis were performed in lab-scale experiments for the treatment of benomyl. The effect of operational parameters, i.e., initial benomyl concentration, $TiO_2$ concentration, $H_2O_2$ concentration on the degradation rate of aqueous solution of benomyl has been examined. The optimal conditions for photocatalysis and sonophotocatalysis processes were determined: initial Benomyl concentration was 3 mg/L, the concentration of $TiO_2$ was 2 g/L and $H_2O_2$concentration was 1.5 mM. Under the optimal conditions, sonophotocatalysis was effective for inducing faster degradation of the benomyl.

  • There should be a need for measures to build up environmentally friendly transport system with new town for residence being built near metropolitan area. In order to promote the development of station influence area, convenience for public transport users and LRT(Light Rail Transit) construction, request for the speed improvement of urban transit is on the rise for easy access to the metropolitan area. This paper delves into the efficient operation of high speed train suitable for passenger demand estimates, and seeks to ensure integrated transportation system with subway Line 9 following the construction of Gimpo urban railway.

Comparison of Water Resources by Kajiyama and SWAT models for an Ungauged Small Watershed (미계측 소유역의 수자원량 산정을 위한 가지야마 공식과 SWAT모형의 비교 분석)

  • This study was focused on estimated Stream Maintenance Flow and performed for simulate securing Stream Maintenance Flow in New town development area. Tributary streams were made of 6 small streams, joined Gong-ji Stream and Eu-am lake finally. For estimate Stream Maintenance Flow used Kajiyama and SWAT models for calculate available flow in study area. As a result the annual average stream flow dry years were $2,300{\sim}136,000\;m^/day3$, the annual average stream flow wet years were $4,800{\sim}136,031\;m^3/day$. The coefficient of determination($R^2$) and Nash-sutcliffe coefficient(EI) for comparison between Kajiyama and SWAT models were 0.88, 0.78 respectively.

  • 본 연구에서는 도시화로 인하여 대규모 토지이용 변화가 예상되는 신도시 개발예정지구인 판교 운중천유역을 시험유역으로 선정하고, 2004년 8월부터 수문관측망을 구성하여 장기적인 수문모니터링을 수행하고 있으며, 2007년 현재 시험유역내 4개의 하천수위관측소 (판교교, 삼평교, 매송2교, 내동교), 3개의 우량관측소(매송2교, 내동교, 운중저수지), 그리고 저수지 및 용수로 수위관측소 (운중저수지) 등 총 8개 지점에 대하여 초음파 수위계 5개, 압력식 수위계 5개, 전도형 강우계 3개가 설치되어 운영중이다. 모든 자료는 10분 단위로 관측되고 있으며, 무선인터넷시스템을 통하여 모니터링 서버에 주기적으로 전송되어, 현장의 계측상황 및 장비에 대한 제어, 자료 분석 및 저장이 가능하도록 되어 있다. 관측된 모든 자료는 홈페이지(http://218.148.68.59/kict)를 통해 실시간으로 제공되고 있다.

The Psychological Reaction of Landscape Design Elements on the District Unit Plan(DUP) (지구단위계획상의 경관계획요소에 대한 심리적 반응)

  • The purpose of this study is to extract landscape design elements regulation of the District Unit Plan(DUP) in new town areas, and to find out characteristics in terms of urban design elements in comparison with the psychological and physical aspects. For this purpose, we reviewed urban design elements and design elements in terms of the landscape by DUP and analyzed the activation of landscape on the selected case-area by interviewing experts such as planners, public officials, and professors in the department of urban planning and landscape, as well as the university students. The analysis framework for the case-study consists of 4 components: the section of region, street, building, open space, etc. The new development areas in Daejeon Metropolitan City was chosen as the case study area, because they have been developed by DUP regulations. As a result of this study, we can extract characteristics of landscape. The results indicate that `skyline design',`view corridor design',`landscape design',`street furniture design' and `building design(form, height, color, and elevation)' are the key planning and design factors influencing differences in the landscape preference. This research identifies that there are no detailed planning and design guidelines adopted within the four case study areas in Daejeon for regulating the characteristics of skyline, planting and street furniture while detailed guidelines established for density, building height and site layout. Considering their significant correlation with the level of landscape preference, this study suggests that detailed planning and design guidelines for the characteristics of skyline, rooftop and streetscape should be established in future DUP.
