To acquire radar target signature, various kinds of target are necessary. Measurement is one of the data acquiring method, but much time and high cost is required to get the target data from the real targets. Even if we can afford that, the targets we can access are very limited. To obtain target signatures avoiding these problems, we build the target CAD (Computer Aided Design) model for the calculation of target signatures. To speed up RCS calculation, we applied adaptive super-sampling and tested quite complex tank CAD model which is 1.4 hundred of thousands facet. We use calculated RCS data for ID range profile and 2D ISAR (Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) image formation. We adopted IFFT (Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) algorithm combined with polar formatting algorithm for the ISAR imaging. We could confirm the possibility of the construction of database from the images of CAD models for target classification applications.

By use of the real recorded data obtained from a power plant, nonlinear low-order state space models are developed for an once-through type power plant boiler. In order to understand the boiler dynamics and to use for the back-up controller design, the unknown model parameters have been estimated using the nonlinear estimation technique, i.e. Extended Kalman Filter method. It is shown that the simulation results coincide with the measurement data within 5% relative error range, which are acceptable from a back-up controller design point of view.
This literature review was undertaken to explore theoretical models of depression for their potential usefulness in nursing research and practice. Depression has bean accounted for by numerous theories or models of causation ; 11 theories selected from psychology, medicine and psychoanalysis and supported by empirical or experimental research were reviewed. These theories identify a variety of precipitating and predisposing factors that may affect the individual's depression. Aggression - turned - inward theory, object loss theory, ego functioning theory, personality organization theory, behavioral theory, learned helplessness theory, cognitive theory, genetic factors, and biological theories conceptualize predisposing factors. Only life stressors theory identifies precipitating facotrs. Each of these theories contributes to an understanding of depression, but many of them use overlapping and interrelated factors. It is also evident from recent. research that there are multiple causes for depression involving an interactive effect among predisposing and precipitating factors that are both biological and psychological in origin. That is, a single theory is not useful, but perhaps a unified theory could be developed that would be helpful to nursing. This review points to the need for continuing development and testing of theories that would integrate the multiple conceptualizations of depression.

Todays computer communication technology let people to do many unrealistic things possible and the use of those technologies is becoming increasingly prevalent throughout the military operation. Both DIS and ADS are welled defined computer aided military simulations. This study discusses a simulation of stochastic combat network modeling through Internet. We have developed two separate simulation models, one for clients and another for server, and validated for conducting studies with these two models. The object-oriented design was necessary to define the system entities and their relationship, to partition functionality into system entities, and to transform functional metrics into realizations derived from system component behaviors. Heterogeneous forces for each side are assumed at any battle node. The time trajectories for mean number of survivors at each node, some important combat measures, and relative difference computations between models were made. We observe and may conclude that the differences exist and some fo these are significant based on a limited number of experiments.
This study intends to select the planning techniques and develop the layouts of environmentally friendly rural villages. As the results of this study, the planning techniques of rural villages are as follows: (1) Development of agricultural technology(organic farming), (2) Environmentally friendly layout considering natural energy, conservation of natural landscape and ecosystem, and sewage and rainwater, (3) Community restoration considering joint work, economic interchange between urban people and rural residents, and unity of rural resident's opinion, and (4) Activation of rural tourism considering satisfaction of tourists, conservation of ecological and cultural resources, and resident's income increasement. According to these 4 techniques, this study also developed 4 general models: (1) land-use and flow, (2) green and blue networks, (3) networks of ecological and cultural resources, and (4) finally residential model, divided rural villages into 2 types. Therefore when we develop a countryside, we can apply to these models, considering the current ecological and cultural resources conditions.

While genomics (the set of experimental and computational tools that allows the blueprints of life to be read) opens the doors to a more rational approach to the design and use of living cells to bring about desirable chemical transformations, genomics is, by itself, insufficient. We need tools that allow us to relate genomic and molecular information to cellular physiology and then to the response of a population of cells. We propose the development of hybrid computer cellular models. In such models genomics and chemical detail for a cellular subsystem (e.g. pathogenesis) is embedded in a coarse-grain cell model. Such a construct allows the quantitative and explicit linkage of genomic detail to cell physiology to the extracellular environment. To illustrate the principles involved we are constructing a model for a minimal cell. A minimal cell is a bacterial cell with the fewest number of genes necessary to sustain life as a free living microbe.
The major concern of component users who develop applications using the existing components is to confirm whether a component is collaborating with the different components in accordance with the requirements. Therefore, interoperability testing whose role is to check whether components collaborate with each other within the new operating environment not within the component development content of each component is considered as an importance research topic. In this paper, we propose a test case generation technique for interoperability test of component based software. The proposed technique defines a test model for generating test cases. The proposed technique generates test models from the use case specification and thereafter from these models, test cases for Interoperability testing are derived. In addition, we describe a tool which Implements the procedures for generating test sequences from test models.

In order to prevent water pollution caused by organic matter, Total Organic Carbon(TOC) has been adopted indicator and monitored. TOC can be divided into Dissolved Organic Carbon(DOC) and Particulate Organic Carbon(POC). POC is largely precipitated and removed during stream flow, which making DOC environmentally significant. However, there are lack of studies to define spatio-temporal distributions of DOC in stream affected by various land use. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the past DOC concentration using other water quality indicators to evaluate status of watershed management. In this study, DOC was estimated by correlation and regression analysis using three different organic matter indicators monitored in mixed land-use watersheds. The results of correlation analysis showed that DOC has the highest correlation with TOC. Based on the results of the correlation analysis, the single- and multiple-regression models were developed using Biochemical Oxygen Demand(BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD), and TOC. The results of the prediction accuracy for three different regression models showed that the single-regression model with TOC was better than those of the other multiple-regression models. The trend analysis using extended average concentration DOC data shows that DOC tends to decrease reflecting watershed management. This study could contribute to assessment and management of organic water pollution in mixed land-use watershed by suggesting methods for assessment of unmeasured DOC concentration.

In this paper, the properties and the design procedures of the internal model control (IMC) structures are discussed and a new nonlinear IMC(NIMC) strategy is proposed. The IMC controllers are simply inverse controller in principle but the development of a NIMC poses difficulties due to the inherent complexity of nonlinear systems. Existing design mehtods are a few and not easy to implement. The proposed approach is using multiple linear models, linear IMC controllers, and swiching scheme instead of using nonlinear model/controller. The advantages of the new approach are that we can use linear IMC mehtod which are now well estabilished and need not global nonlinear models.

Due to the expensiveness of IKONOS Pro and Precision Products, it is attractive to use the low-cost IKONOS Geo Product with vendor-provided RPCs to produce highly accurate mapping products. The imaging geometry of IKONOS high-resolution imagery is described by RFs instead of rigorous sensor models. This paper presents four different models defined respectively in object space and image space to improve the accuracies of the RF-derived ground coordinates. The four models include the offset model, the scale & offset model, the affine model and the 2nd-order polynomial model. Different configurations of ground control points (GCPs) are carefully examined to evaluate the effect of the GCPs arrangement on the accuracy of ground coordinates. The experiment also evaluates the effect of different cartographic parameters such as the number location, and accuracy of GCPs on the accuracy of geopositioning.
