요구도 기반 항공우주 시스템 강건최적설계 기법 연구 (A New Process for the Requirements Based Aerospace System Design and Optimization)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존 설계요구도 정립과정에서 고려할 수 없었던 설계자의 주관적인 판단의 배제 및 사용자 요구도의 변화, 시스템의 생산 및 운용환경에서 발생하는 오차 등을 개념 설계과정에서 고려하는 설계 프로세스를 개발하였다. 사용자 요구도를 의사결정 모델 및 시스템 엔지니어링 기법을 사용하여 구체화하여 대안형상들을 도출하고 그 가운데에서 우수한 대안형상을 선정한다. 선정된 대안형상들에 대해 최적설계 기법을 적용한 개념설계 결과를 도출하고 여기에 강건최적설계 기법을 적용하여 사용자의 요구를 만족하면서 오차에 영향을 적게 받는 결과를 도출하도록 하였다. 본 논문에서는 최근 각광받고 있는 Very Light Jet 항공기에 대하여 개발된 프로세스를 적용해 보았다.

시뮬레이티드 어닐링을 활용한 조선 소조립 라인 소일정계획 최적화 (Short-term Scheduling Optimization for Subassembly Line in Ship Production Using Simulated Annealing)

  • 전 세계 조선 산업에서 생산성의 향상이 크게 이슈화되면서, 생산 라인의 생산성 향상을 위해 새로운 방법론, 생산 자동화, 향상된 생산계획 및 일정계획 등의 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 본 연구는 조선 생산의 일정계획과 관련하여 소조립 라인의 소일정계획의 최적화를 통한 생산성 향상에 관한 것이다. 소조립 라인의 소일정계획 최적화를 위하여 공정 별 작업자 배치와 운용에 관한 시나리오와 스키드 패턴의 투입 순서를 미정 다항식 문제로 정식화하고 문제 해결하기 위해 메타휴리스틱 방법 중 하나이며 확률변수를 사용하는 시뮬레이티드 어닐링을 적용하여 지역 최소값에 빠지는 것을 막고 전역 최소값을 찾도록 하였다. 실제 조선소의 소조립 라인의 작업 시간 데이터와 스키드 투입 순서 데이터를 사용하여 최적화를 수행하고 최적화 결과의 효과를 검증하였다.

저수지군으로부터 기대편익 산정을 위한 Monte Carlo 기법의 간략화 (Simplification of Monte Carlo Techniques for the Estimation of Expected Benefits in Stochastic Ananlysis of Multiple Reservoir Systems)

  • Monte Carlo 기법을 이용하여 저수지군으로부터 위험도나 신뢰도를 고려한 시스템 편익을 최적화하기 위해서는 수많은 모의발생 유입량 자료군을 이용하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 저수지군 연계운영을 위한 모의 발생 유입량 자료를 시스템 목적함수나 운영기간들을 고려하여 전처리함으로써 수많은 모의 발생 자료군으로부터 이산화된 확율값과 운영기간을 갖는 극히 제한된 대표 유입량을 선택한다. 선택된 대표 유입량 자료를 사용하여 확정론적 최적화 기법에 의거 이산화된 위험도나 신뢰도 수준을 갖는 기대편익을 산정하게 된다. 이와 같은 기법을 5개 저수지를 고려한 한강수계 저수지 시스템으로부터 전처리 된 평가함수별 신뢰도 수준을 갖는 발전편익 산정에 적용하였으며, 적용결과 신뢰도를 고려한 기대편익은 전형적인 Monte Carlo 기법에 의한 결과와 비슷한 수중이었으나 훨씬 적은 계산만을 요구하였다.

Effect of structure configurations and wind characteristics on the design of solar concentrator support structure under dynamic wind action

  • Concentrated Solar Photovoltaic (CPV) is a promising alternative to conventional solar structures. These solar tracking structures need to be optimized to be competitive against other types of energy production. In particular, the selection of the structural parameters needs to be optimized with regards to the dynamic wind response. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the main structural parameters, as selected in the preliminary design phase, on the wind response and then on the weight of the steel support structure. A parametric study has been performed where parameters influencing dynamic wind response are varied. The study is performed using a semi-deterministic time-domain wind analysis method. Unsteady aerodynamic model is applied for the shape of the CPV structure collector at different configurations in conjunction with a consistent mass-spring-damper model with the corresponding degrees of freedom to describe the dynamic response of the system. It is shown that, unlike the static response analysis, the variation of the peak wind response with many structural parameters is highly nonlinear because of the dynamic wind action. A steel structural optimization process reveals that close attention to structural and site wind parameters could lead to optimal design of CPV steel support structure.

A New Switched Flux Machine Employing Alternate Circumferential and Radial Flux (AlCiRaF) Permanent Magnet for Light Weight EV

  • Currently, an interest in electric vehicles (EVs) exhibited by automakers, government agencies and customers make it as more attractive research. This is due to carbon dioxide emitted by conventional combustion engine that worsens the greenhouse effect nowadays. Since electric motors are the core of EVs, it is a pressing need for researchers to develop advanced electric motors. As one of the candidates, switched flux machine (SFM) is initiated in order to cope with the requirement. This paper proposes a new alternate circumferential and radial flux (AlCiRaF) of permanent magnet switched flux machines (PMSFM) for light weight electric vehicles. Firstly, AlCiRaF PMSFM is compared with the conventional PMSFM based on some design restrictions and specifications. Then the design refinements techniques are conducted by using deterministic optimization method in order to improve preliminary performance of machine. Finally the optimized machine design has achieved maximum torque and power of 47.43 Nm and 12.85 kW, respectively, slightly better than that of conventional PMSFM.

  • This paper proposes an opportunistic age replacement policy. The system has two types of failures. Type I failures (minor failures) are removed by minimal repairs, whereas type II failures are removed by replacements. Type I and type II failures are age-dependent. A system is replaced at type II failure (catastrophic failure) or at the opportunity after age T, whichever occurs first. The cost of the minimal repair of the system at age z depends on the random part C(z) and the deterministic part c(z). The opportunity arises according to a Poisson process, independent of failures of the component. The expected cost rate is obtained. The optimal $T^{\ast}$ which would minimize the cost rate is discussed. Various special cases are considered. Finally, a numerical example is given.

  • This paper presents the optimum design of the slit type linear induction motor(LIM). For the analysis of the slit type LIM, as the boundary problem, the equivalent circuit is composed from the analysis method given the slit pitch boundary condition. Using the deterministic method and the stochastic method among the optimization methods, each of the optimum design variables is derived. The analysis result by the proposed method is compared with the experimental result.

  • In this study, we consider characteristics of waiting times in single-server 3-node tandem queues with a Poisson arrival process, finite buffers and deterministic or non-overlapping service times at each queue. There are three buffers: one at the first node is infinite and the others are finite. The explicit expressions of waiting times in all areas of the systems, which are driven as functions of finite buffer capacities, show that the sojourn time does not depend on the finite buffer capacities and also allow one to compute and compare characteristics of waiting times at all areas of the system under two blocking policies: communication and manufacturing blocking. As an application of these results, moreover, an optimization problem which determines the smallest buffer capacities satisfying predetermined probabilistic constraints on waiting times is considered. Some numerical examples are also provided.

Reevaluation of Operational Policies for a Reservoir System

  • Abstract The need for integrated reservoir system operation become more intense as the demands from the system increase. A deterministic, three-dimensional discrete incremental dynamic programming approach is presented to derive reservoirs system operational planning strategies. The developed H3DP model optimizes the monthly operation of the Hwachon and Soyang Projects on the North Han river and Chungju Main Project on the South Han river. By using the H3DP model, Hwachon project was reevaluated as a component of the upstream multipurpose storage reservoirs in the basin based on 1993 hydrology. This case study demonstrates the practical use of the developed model for the basin multi-reservoir system operation in an integrated, multipurpose fashion.

모델의 타당성 평가에 기초한 로바스트 동정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Robust Identification Based on the Validation Evaluation of Model)

  • In order to design a stable robust controller, nominal model, and the upper bound about the uncertainty which is the error of the model are needed. The problem to estimate the nominal model of controlled system and the upper bound of uncertainty at the same time is called robust identification. When the nominal model of controlled system and the upper bound of uncertainty in relation to robust identification are given, the evaluation of the validity of the model and the upper bound makes it possible to distinguish whether there is a model which explains observation data including disturbance among the model set. This paper suggests a method to identity the uncertainty which removes disturbance and expounds observation data by giving a probable postulation and plural data set to disturbance. It also examines the suggested method through a numerical computation simulation and validates its effectiveness.
