유니버설 디자인의 최근 성향 분석 연구 (A Study of Current Tendency of Universal Design)

  • The purpose of this study was to scrutinize the current tendency of Universal Design. The analysis unit was presentation in the proceeding of "The first International Universal Design Conference" which was held at New York in June, 1998. Sixty the presentations in the conference were analyzed using Content Analysis technique. The analysis criteria were academic vs. practical, themes, subjects, levels of UD concepts, design principles applied, and type of disability. The results were as follows. Compared with its early characteristics such as practical approach, architectural living environment, barrier free for the disabled, especially for person with mobile disability using wheelchair, and the emphasis of accessibility, UD characteristics shown in the conference evidenced a dramatic shift from them toward the new century : Its subjects became a wide range of people including the disabled departing from 'the disabled' only; The range of disability was expanded to include visual and audial disability departing from mobility only; Themes appeared very diverse such as both small and large scale environments, products, dissemination, and theory from the 'architectural environment'; Various design principles were added to early accessibility ; Commercialism was added to early Welfarism. Therefore, this conference provided empirical evidence that UD changed considerably from its early development in many aspects. It indicated the potential of UD as a big wave in the 21st century design.

의복구성학의 연구주제 및 경항분석 (Study Theme and Tendency Analysis of Clothing Construction)

  • The purpose of this study is to recognize the real situation of clothing construction to present the desirable direction to establish more scientific and reasonable themes of the study by analysis of the tendency of the clothing construction study. For this purpose, 402 papers on the theme of clothing construction study were excepted from the first issues to the issues of December in 1999 of Journal of Korea Society of Clothing and Textile, Journal of Korea Home Economics, Journal of the Korean Society of Costume, Research Journal of the Costume Culture, Journal of the Korean Fiber Society, and Journal of the Human Engineering Society of Korea. I analyzed and classified the theme into eight issues of design related clothing construction, study of body types, study of patterns, size of apparel, fitting of clothing, protective clothing and functional clothing, sewing, and the clothes. The result of the study is follows. 1. The distribution tendency of the clothing construction study by the journal of each society showed that journal of Korean Home Economic is 22.9%, Journal of Korea Society of Clothing and Textiles 17.3%, Research Journal of the Costume Culture 12.2%, and Journal of the Korean Society of Costume 6.2%. 2. The distribution tendency of the studying issues showed hat study of body types of 29.4%, study of patterns21.9%, fitting of clothing 11.7%, sewing 10.2%, size of apparel 8.5%, and others 7%, protective clothing and functional clothing 6.7%, and design related clothing construction 4.7%. Considering the above result. we can understand that study of body types and patterns are being studied most actively. 3. Regarding the study tendency by academic issues showed that study of construction elements and design application is chiefly centered of the study of design related clothing construction (35.5%), analysis of body types is centered of the study of body, type(46/6%), CAD is centered of the study of patterns (31.1%), and size spec for the ready made patterns is centered of the study of size of apparel(32.4%). As for fitting of clothing, the study was performed in two ways on the changes of he surfaces of human bodies in motion and the functional features of experimental dressing. Regarding the study of sewing study of fusible interlining was mainly performed (36.6%) and regarding the study of protective clothing and functional clothing, study of brassieres and underwear was chiefly performed.

쇼핑성향과 인구통계적 변인에 따른 초저가 화장품의 구매행동 (Purchasing Behaviors of Budget-priced Cosmetics According to the Shopping Orientation and Demographics)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the consumers' purchasing behavior of budget-priced cosmetics according to the shopping orientation. Questionnaires used for this study were composed of 57 questions including 21 questions about cosmetic shopping orientation, 32 questions about budget-priced cosmetic purchasing behavior and four questions about demographic variables. Questionnaires were administrated to 20 to 49 aged 317 women who have shopping experience on budget-priced cosmetics. Data were analyzed by using factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, ${\chi}^2$-test, correlation, crosstabulation analysis, and scheffe test utilizing SPSS/WIN. The results were as follows. First, shopping orientation of cosmetics were classified into 5 factors: 'interest and impulsive purchasing tendency', 'price-oriented purchasing tendency', 'ration-oriented purchasing tendency', 'famous brand-oriented purchasing tendency' and 'brand royalty- oriented purchasing tendency'. According to the shopping orientation of cosmetics, the respondents were classified into 4 groups: 'passive shopping group', 'rational shopping group', 'active shopping group', 'neutral shopping group'. Second, when comparing each group's purchasing behavior of budget-priced cosmetics with shopping orientation of cosmetics, there was not significant difference in one time purchasing cost and the number of shop visits. In case of demographic variables concerning purchasing behavior of budget-priced cosmetics, there was significant differences in one time purchasing cost according to age, level of education and employment status. The number of shop visits had also difference according to age, level of education and monthly family income. Based on these results, marketing strategies for demographic characteristics of target market rather than the shopping orientation are needed.

건축 표피디자인의 인터렉티브 아트적 표현연구 (A Study on Interactive Artistic Characteristics of Architecture Surface Design)

  • Current architecture can receive support of and command various ways of expression by more advanced technology of the present time, this means the formation of changeable external design of building, and has the tendency to be interactive non-rheological shape. Accordingly surface of building is decorated not only by the basic function and the expression of information, but also by complex narrative image structure or text, so far as recognizes human as the subject of communication, and is trying the artistic expression interacting with the general public. In various expressive tendency of current architecture surface design, such an approach from a view of an interactive art trying the communication between architecture, art, and human has the meaning of suggesting the direction of directing emotional architecture giving a present to the morderners who are growing more and more an earnest desire for experiencing culture and art in their daily life.

미니멀리즘 건축공간에 나타난 동양적 사유 방식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationships between Eastern Ideas and Minimal Thinking in Architectural Space)

  • This study is on relations between minimalism, which is one of important theme in the contemporary design, and East-oriented speculatiov. Minimalism, one inclination of neo-modernism is characterized by Essentialism. That is connected with East-oriented thinking, especially Taoism. The paradigm of contradiction and paradox replaces the paradigm of rationality and the law of cause and effect. Minimal tendency is appeared at Modernism in 60's and Neo-modernism in 90's. The differences are originated with their manner on simplicity. Minimal tendency in Modernism is characterized by 'less is more' and that in Meo-modernism is by 'more with less'. The minimizing strategy is not considered as means as in modern age but as purpose in neo-modern age. This paper explains minimal architectural space as spatial problem and recognitions on that, not as the figurative problem. Conclusively the relationships between minimalism and eastern ideas are represented through the boundary and extensity of space, void and solid, de-formalization and Essentialism.

동시대(同時代) 학교건축(學校建築)의 디자인 경향(傾向)에 관한 연구(硏究) -1980년대 후반이후 학교건물을 중심으로- (A Study on Design Trends of the Contemporary School Architecture -Focused on School Buildings since the Second Half of the 1980's-)

  • An architectural practice cannot help involving a social art as its own concept. Especially school buildings are subjected to the influence of not only the educational philosophy and the national curriculum, but also the sociocultural context with the change of the times. This study aims to explore the contemporary trends of school architecture and give new inspiration to the school design practice. After it establishes the 'contemporary' school architecture as school buildings built from the second half of the 1980's to the present time, this paper classifies them into 4 categories : popularist trend, traditional and regional tendency, revival of classicism and the pursuit of art for art's sake.

호텔건축의 화재안전과 피난계획에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fire-Safety and Escape plan of Hotel Design)

  • Due to its commercial, ceremonial function, the hotel design has a tendency to be higher and larger, and its form being varied. But this tendency is not desirable in respect of architectural fire-safety. The higher its height and the larger its mass becomes, relatively the damage expectation becomes. Moreover, in case of fire, it is expected that many serious problems break out, because the users of a hotel, unlike those of office building or housing, are majority of unspecified people and they have no information about that building. Therefore, this study dealt with fire-safety problem in hotel design and tried to find out countermeasures of fire-safety and successful escafe against fire.

전문대 여대생의 인터넷쇼핑몰 이용과 구매성향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Usage of Internet Shopping Mall and Purchasing Tendency of Female College Students)

  • This paper aimed to provide the basic data on consumers' purchasing tendency required to start and operate online shopping malls on internet. The survey selected the female college students from 19 to 24 years old majoring fabric and fashion design in colleges in Gyeonggi-do. Total 283 questionnaires were selected for statistical analysis. The analysis results are presented below. The first online shopping was during the middle school times showing the highest responses as 63.54%, followed by high school times, college times and elementary school times in that sequence. Most female college students(97.88%) purchased goods from online shopping malls. The purposes of search in online shopping malls were 'need to purchase goods(47.18%)', 'habit/hobbies(27.57%)', 'need to collect data on goods(20.27%)' and 'to relieve stresses(4.98%)'. About 50% of respondents selected 'I visit mainly several online shopping malls. If there is no goods that I try to find, I search other sites and purchase what I want to buy(46.57%).' For the goods purchased from online shopping malls, everyday wears showed the highest ratio, 85.92%. About the time to purchase goods related to trends, most respondents selected 'purchase whenever it is necessary without respect to trends(87%).' Main considerations when the respondents purchased the goods from online shopping malls were 'design(64.98%)', 'price(18.41%)', 'quality(11.20%)', 'company recognition(2.53%)', 'color(1.44%)', and 'materials (1.44%)' in that sequence. 64.62% of respondents had the experience of returning goods after purchasing from online shopping malls. The reason why the respondents returned goods after purchasing from online shopping malls was mainly 'because of size(52.17%)', the response with the highest ratio. 42.24% responded that they experienced damage by washing the goods purchased from online shopping malls. It was found that the respondents didn't think about the country of manufacturing when purchasing goods from online shopping malls.
