A computer vision-based approach for behavior recognition of gestating sows fed different fiber levels during high ambient temperature

  • The objectives of this study were to evaluate convolutional neural network models and computer vision techniques for the classification of swine posture with high accuracy and to use the derived result in the investigation of the effect of dietary fiber level on the behavioral characteristics of the pregnant sow under low and high ambient temperatures during the last stage of gestation. A total of 27 crossbred sows (Yorkshire × Landrace; average body weight, 192.2 ± 4.8 kg) were assigned to three treatments in a randomized complete block design during the last stage of gestation (days 90 to 114). The sows in group 1 were fed a 3% fiber diet under neutral ambient temperature; the sows in group 2 were fed a diet with 3% fiber under high ambient temperature (HT); the sows in group 3 were fed a 6% fiber diet under HT. Eight popular deep learning-based feature extraction frameworks (DenseNet121, DenseNet201, InceptionResNetV2, InceptionV3, MobileNet, VGG16, VGG19, and Xception) used for automatic swine posture classification were selected and compared using the swine posture image dataset that was constructed under real swine farm conditions. The neural network models showed excellent performance on previously unseen data (ability to generalize). The DenseNet121 feature extractor achieved the best performance with 99.83% accuracy, and both DenseNet201 and MobileNet showed an accuracy of 99.77% for the classification of the image dataset. The behavior of sows classified by the DenseNet121 feature extractor showed that the HT in our study reduced (p < 0.05) the standing behavior of sows and also has a tendency to increase (p = 0.082) lying behavior. High dietary fiber treatment tended to increase (p = 0.064) lying and decrease (p < 0.05) the standing behavior of sows, but there was no change in sitting under HT conditions.

혼성방파제 케이슨에 작용하는 파압과 선단 주변에서 파랑특성에 관한 수치모의(일방향불규칙파에 대해) (Numerical Simulation of Wave Pressure Acting on Caisson and Wave Characteristics near Tip of Composite Breakwater (for One Directional Irregular Waves))

  • 선행연구에서는 3차원규칙파에 대해 olaFlow 수치모델을 적용하여 혼성방파제의 선단 주변에서 파랑특성 및 케이슨에 작용하는 파압특성을 검토하였다. 본 연구에서는 동일한 수치모델과 혼성방파제의 배치 및 형상을 적용하여 일방향불규칙파의 작용 하에 고천단의 마운드 상에 놓인 케이슨의 선단 주변에서 회절파의 발생과 배후역으로의 영향 및 케이슨에 작용하는 충격쇄파압을 포함한 파압의 공간적인 변동 등을 2차원 및 3차원적으로 검토한다. 또한, 수치해석으로부터 혼성방파제 주변에서 주파수스펙트럼, 평균유의파고, 평균수평유속 및 평균난류운동에너지의 변동특성도 면밀히 분석·검토한다. 이로부터 2차원수치해석에서는 발생되지 않았던 충격쇄파압이 3차원수치해석에서는 발생되는 경우가 나타나고, 충격쇄파압의 발생 시 경우에 따라 기존의 설계조건보다 매우 큰 파압이 정수면 근방의 케이슨의 전면 벽체에 작용되는 등의 중요한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한, 동일한 입사유의파랑에 대해 케이슨에 작용하는 파압분포가 방파제의 길이에 따라 변동하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이러한 변동은 크기에서 차이를 나타내지만, 3차원규칙파에 대한 선행연구의 경우와 유사한 특성을 갖는다.

이, 미용사 국가기술 자격증 취득 선호도 및 동향 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Preference and Trend Analysis of Barber and Hairdresser Acquisition of National Technology Certificate)

  • 현대사회의 미용은 예술과 과학이 융합적으로 접목된 전문 직종으로서 이, 미용인으로 입문하기 위하여 국가기술 자격증 취득은 일상적 통관 절차이다. 또한 예비 미용인이 선호하는 이, 미용 국가기술 자격증과 취업 분야에 대한 객관적 자료 제시가 필요한 시점이기 때문에 미래 미용산업에서 성공을 설계하는 뷰티아카데미 수강생들이 선호하는 이, 미용 국가기술 자격증에 대한 인식과 동향을 다각도 분석하였다. 분석 결과 선호하는 국가기술 자격증과 희망하는 취업 분야는 매우 높은 상관성을 보였으며 남성, 젊은 연령층, 미혼자, 학생층에서는 개인의 적성과 흥미를 우선순위로 선택한 반면 30대 이상, 기혼자나 이혼자, 자영업자, 회사원, 주부에서는 취업 전망의 선택 비율이 월등히 높았다. 본 연구를 통해 미용 인재의 본질적 성향과 발전 방향에 대한 모색을 도모할 수 있으며, 향후 국가기술 자격증 교육에 대한 바람직한 연구개발의 방향을 설정하고 뷰티아카데미 시장의 활성화에도 크게 기여하리라 사료한다.

의료서비스경험조사의 신뢰도 및 타당도 검토: 의료기관 특성별 차이를 중심으로 (Review of Reliability and Validity of Medical Service Experience Survey: Focused on the Differences by Type of Medical Institutions)

  • Background: The efforts to build more "people centered," "patient centered" health system has been emerging all over the world. Aligning with it, the Korean government is conducing the survey called "Medical Service Experience Survey (MSES)." There are critics, however, that MSES is not scrutinizing the medical experiences of patients in various healthcare settings. For this reason, this study aims to perform an empirical analysis of the differences in answers of patients responding to various healthcare settings. Methods: There are two steps in this study. First, explanatory analysis is conducted to compare the tendency of statistical concentration on questionnaires by divided healthcare settings. Second, confirmative analysis is carried out to evaluate the construct validity, reliability, and discriminant validity of the questionnaire in each healthcare setting. The raw data of MSES, which was conducted in 2020 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Korea and the Korean Institute for Health and Social Affairs is used. Results: As a result of exploratory factor analysis for all outpatients, the items were classified into four factors statistically: "doctor experience," "nurse experience," "outpatient service experience," and "patient satisfaction." It was confirmed that the reliability of all factors extracted was secured. However, for patients who visited hospitals, questionnaires related to personal privacy, such as "experiences on medical staffs considering physical exposure" or "experiences related to personal information exposure," were answered in conjunction with items of "nurse experience." Besides, patients responded that administrative elements of medical services, such as "experiences of comfort in medical institutions" and "experiences of satisfactory administrative services," were related to the items of "nurse experience." The answers of patients who visited traditional medical hospitals and clinics about "doctor experience" and "nurse experience" were not discerned statistically, and the answers to "doctor experience," "nurse experience," and "medical institution experience" were entangled with the responses of patients who visited dental hospitals and clinics. On the other hand, as a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, it was found that the inquiries of MSES generally had intensive validity. Conclusion: The collection of objective and scientific data is the prominent component to enlighten the patient-centered healthcare system alongside with change of the worldwide paradigm of measuring the healthcare system performance as follows the transition of perspective of health care from provider-centered to patient-centered. This study empirically shows that the patient experience can vary as the healthcare settings. Furthermore, to make an advance in measuring the experience of patients with medical services, this article proposes the deliberate consideration of the different kinds of healthcare settings and articulate design of the survey.

진피(陳皮)의 항산화 활성 및 L6 근육세포에서 당대사에 미치는 영향 (Antioxidant Activity of Citrus Peel and Effect on its Glucose Metabolism in L6 Rat Skeletal Muscle Cells)

  • Objectives : This study aimed to effects antioxidant activity of citrus peel extract (CPE) and effect on its glucose metabolism in L6 rat skeletal muscle cells. Methods : Antioxidative activities were evaluated by using 10 kinds of natural materials, and total polyphenol and flavonoid contents were examined. The L6 muscle cells toxicity of CPE was examined by MTT assay. Expression of glucose-related genes in L6 muscle cells by CPE treatment was analyzed by real-time PCR and western blotting. Results : The $IC_{50}$ values of DPPH and ABTS free radical scavenging activity of CPE were ($15.47{\pm}0.26{\mu}g/m{\ell}$ and $12.07{\pm}1.23{\mu}g/m{\ell}$, respectively), effectively clearing DPPH and ABTS. CPE showed total polyphenol and flavonoid contents ($20.30{\pm}0.38$ and $64.20{\pm}0.52$, respectively). The selected CPE were used in experiments using an effective concentration that is not toxic in L6 muscle cells. We investigated insulin receptor substrate-1 (IRS-1), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase regulatory (PI3KR), Akt, and glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4). mRNA analysis by realtime PCR showed no significant difference, but CPE-treated cells showed a tendency to increase in concentration-dependent manner. However, analysis of protein expression of Akt and GLUT4 by western blotting showed that CPE treatment significantly increased concentration dependent (p<0.001). Conclusions : As a result, citrus peel extract with high antioxidant activity regulates glucose metabolism in L6 muscle cells. Therefore, CPE can be a potential treatment for the treatment of diabetes.

인턴상담자의 꿈 통찰 과정에 관한 현상학적 연구 -꿈통합예술치료를 기반으로- (A phenomenological study on the dream insight process of intern counselor -Based on Dream Integrated Art Therapy-)

  • 본 연구는 인턴상담자의 꿈 통찰 과정에 관한 현상학적 연구이다. 연구의 목적은 인턴상담자가 무의식에 대한 통찰을 통해 자신의 경험에 의미를 부여하고 인식하는 과정을 바탕으로 전문상담자로서의 성장을 도모하는 것이다. 이에 자신과 타인, 세계에 대한 기대를 명백하게 나타내는 무의식적 꿈을 인식하는 과정을 갖도록 하며, 이러한 과정을 보다 유연하게 탐색할 수 있도록 하는 꿈통합예술치료를 활용하였다. 연구참여자는 홍보를 통해 지원한 참여 희망자 중 석·박사과정에 재학 중인 3명을 선발하였으며, 자료 수집 및 분석은 연구참여자를 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 통하여 진행하는 현상학적 Giorgi 연구방법을 채택하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인턴상담자들은 꿈통합예술치료를 통해 자신의 무의식적 통찰을 원하는 동기를 가지고 있었고 자신의 무의식 속에서 드러나는 문제들을 꿈, 음악, 미술 매체들을 통해 스스로 통찰할 수 있었다. 둘째, 인턴상담자들은 공통적으로 최근 꿈, 음악, 미술 매체들을 통하여 집중력이 깊어짐과 편안함을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 꿈통합예술치료의 병행없이 드러났던 방어기제로는 자신을 드러내고 싶지 않아하는 회피적 성향이 공통적으로 나타났으나, 이는 점진적으로 줄어드는 양상을 보였다. 넷째, 인턴상담자들은 앞으로의 성장방향에 대해 스스로를 위한 유연함이 생겼고 자신을 받아들이게 된 기회였으며 전문상담자가 되기 위한 미래방향에 대한 계획을 갖게 되었다고 보고되었다. 따라서, 다양한 매체들을 활용한 후속 연구와 꿈통합프로그램 효과 검증 연구 및 다양한 사례연구가 필요함을 제언한다.

디저트카페 품질과 친환경 행동이 고객 신뢰와 충성도에 미치는 영향 : MZ 세대를 중심으로 (Effects of Dessert Cafes' Quality and Eco-Friendly Behavior on Customer Trust and Loyalty - Focused on Generation MZ)

  • Purpose: Recently, it is common to see cases where an amount similar to the cost of a meal is spent on dessert, or an amount greater than the cost of a meal is spent on dessert. The generation MZ is showing a tendency of 'value consumption' by consuming values and beliefs in consideration of the recent impact on society and the environment. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of dessert cafe quality and eco-friendly behavior on customer trust and loyalty targeting the generation MZ who have visited desert cafés. This study examined the mediating role of customer trust in the relationships between desert café quality, eco-friendly behavior and customer loyalty, and also the moderating effect of and eco-friendly behavior on customer trust and customer loyalty. Research design, data, and methodology: To achieve purposes of this study, 229 data were collected from respondents who visited desert café and analyzed using measurement model (reliability test and correlation analysis), Fornell-Larcker Criterion and Heterotrait-Monotrait Ratio (HTMT) assessment, and structural equation model (PLS-SEM) with SPSS 22.0 and SmartPLS 3.3.7. Results: The research results are as follows. First, desert cafes' quality positively influenced customer trust but did not customer loyalty. Second, desert cafes' eco-friendly behavior positively influenced customer trust and customer loyalty. Fourth, the interaction term of dessert cafe quality and eco-friendly behavior did not influence customer trust and customer loyalty. Conclusions: This study emphasized the necessity of service quality and eco-friendly behavior of dessert cafes by examining the relationship between the quality of dessert cafes and eco-friendly behaviors, customer trust and loyalty. It also found the importance of the role of trust in securing loyal customers. In order to secure and retain loyal customers, the owners of dessert cafes should make effortsto improve the quality of the cafes' products and services so that customers can feel a sense of trust, and actively publicize that they are practicing eco-friendly management. As a result of this study, it is intended to provide practical implications for the management of dessert cafes by understand ing the effects of product and service quality and eco-friendly behaviors of companies to bakery industry workers and start-ups.

섬광 픽셀과 동일한 물질로 광가이드를 적용한 매우 작은 섬광 픽셀 검출기 설계 (Design of Small-sized Scintillation Pixel Detector with a Light Guide made of the Same Material as the Scintillation Pixel)

  • 우수한 공간분해능을 달성하기 위해 소동물용 양전자방출단층촬영기기의 검출기에는 매우 작은 섬광 픽셀을 사용한다. 그러나 이러한 매우 작은 섬광 픽셀을 사용함으로써 배열의 가장자리 부분의 섬광 픽셀들이 평면 영상에서 중첩되는 현상이 발생할 수 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 빛의 분포를 변화시킬 수 있는 광가이드를 사용하였다. 광가이드의 물질에 따라 빛이 퍼지는 경향이 달라지며, 이에 따라 어떠한 물질의 광가이드를 사용하느냐에 따라 겹침의 발생 유무가 달라진다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 유리 광가이드를 대신하여 섬광 픽셀과 동일한 물질의 광가이드를 적용한 검출기를 설계하였다. 섬광체 광가이드는 유리 광가이드에 비해 더 높은 굴절률을 지녀, 빛의 퍼지는 정도가 달라진다. 두 광가이드를 사용한 검출기의 가장자리 부분의 섬광 픽셀들의 분리 정도를 평가하기 위해 평면 영상을 획득하였다. 획득한 평면 영상의 가장자리 두 섬광 픽셀 영상의 공간분해능과 중심 간의 거리를 산출하여, 분리 정도를 평가하였다. 그 결과 섬광체 광가이드를 사용하였을 경우, 더 우수한 공간분해능을 보였으며, 섬광 픽셀들의 중심 간의 거리가 더 넓게 나타났다. 기존에 사용하는 유리 광가이드 대신에 섬광체 광가이드를 사용하여 검출기를 구성할 경우 더 작은 섬광 픽셀을 사용할 수 있으므로, 더 우수한 공간분해능을 확보할 수 있을 것이다.

Effects of β-glucan with vitamin E supplementation on the growth performance, blood profiles, immune response, fecal microbiota, fecal score, and nutrient digestibility in weaning pigs

  • Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate effects of β-glucan with vitamin E supplementation on the growth performance, blood profiles, immune response, fecal microbiota, fecal score, and nutrient digestibility in weaning pigs. Methods: A total of 200 weaning pigs with an average body weight (BW) of 7.64±0.741 kg were allotted to five treatment groups and were divided based on sex and initial BW in four replicates with ten pigs per pen in a randomized complete block design. The experimental diets included a corn-soybean meal-based basal diet with or without 0.1% or 0.2% β-glucan and 0.02% vitamin E. The pigs were fed the diets for 6 weeks. A total of 15 barrows were used to evaluate the nutrient digestibility by the total collection method. The BW and feed intake were measured at the end of each phase. Blood samples were collected at the end of each phase, and fecal samples were collected at the end of the experiment. Results: The addition of β-glucan with vitamin E to weaning pig feed increased BW, average daily gain, and average daily feed intake. A significant decrease in yeast and mold and Proteobacteria and a tendency for Lactobacillus to increase compared to the control was shown when 0.1% β-glucan and 0.02% vitamin E were added. The fecal score in weaning pigs was lower in the treatments supplemented with 0.1% or 0.2% β-glucan and 0.02% vitamin E compared to the control. In addition, vitamin E was better supplied to weaning pigs by increasing the concentration of α-tocopherol in the blood of weaning pigs when 0.02% vitamin E was supplemented. However, there was no significant difference in either the immune response or nutrient digestibility. Conclusion: Inclusion of 0.1% β-Glucan with 0.02% vitamin E in a weaning pig's diet were beneficial to the growth performance of weaning pigs by improving intestinal microbiota and reducing the incidence of diarrhea.

Short-term effects of dietary selenium on lactating sows to improve litter performance, milk composition and tissue selenium retention in piglets

  • Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the short-term effects of dietary selenium supplementation on lactating sows on the physiological response, litter performance, milk composition, and tissue selenium retention in piglets when selenium was provided by different sources and at different levels in a lactation diet. Methods: A total of 48 multiparous sows (Yorkshire×Landrace) with average body weight, backfat thickness, and parity were assigned to one of the four treatments with 12 sows per treatment using a 2×2 factorial arrangement in a completely randomized design. Inorganic or organic Se sources were added to the diet at 0.30 ppm and 0.50 ppm Se. Treatments were as follows: i) IS30, basal diet + inorganic Se 0.30 ppm; ii) IS50, basal diet + inorganic Se 0.50 ppm; iii) OS30, basal diet + organic Se 0.30 ppm; and iv) OS50: basal diet + organic Se 0.50 ppm. Results: At Day 21 of lactation, a high tendency of litter weight (p = 0.08) and litter weight gain (p = 0.09) were observed when sows were fed an organic Se source. The milk Se concentration in the organic Se treatment was higher than that in the inorganic Se treatment at Day 21 of lactation (p<0.05). The serum Se concentrations of sows and piglets at Day 21 of lactation were significantly higher when lactating sows were fed organic Se instead of inorganic Se (p<0.01). During the suckling period, the kidney and muscle Se concentrations of piglets at Day 21 of lactation were significantly higher when the sow dietary Se source was organic (p<0.05). Liver Se concentrations were affected by Se source and level (p<0.05). This also resulted in an interaction response at 21 days of lactation (p<0.05). Conclusion: The supplementation of dietary organic Se in a lactating diet could improve sow feed consumption, piglet performance, milk Se level, and the Se status of sows and piglets.
