디자인 전략의 모방자에서 선구자로 -한국 디자인 진흥 전략의 발전 과정에 관한 고찰- (From An Imitator to a Pioneer in Design Strategy -A Study on Progresses of the Design Promotion on Strategy in Korea since 1950s-)

  • 1950년대부터 시작된 한국의 디자인 진흥은 국가 경제의 발전과 맥락을 같이하며 발전되어왔다. 초창기에는 주로 외국의 디자인 진흥 전략을 베끼는 모방자 수준이었으나, 점차 수정자와 개선자를 거쳐 선구자로서의 위상을 점하고 있다. 이 연구는 이처럼 빠른 기간동안에 후발국의 불리함을 극복하고 디자인선진국을 지향하고 있는 한국의 디자인 진흥 전략을 고찰하였다. 디지털시대를 맞아 나타나고 있는 환경의 변화, 디자인 진흥 본질, 세계디자인 진흥의 발전과정 및 현황 등이 다각적으로 다루어졌다. 이를 토대로 디자인산업기본법(가칭)제정, 한국디자인진흥원(KIDP)의 자생력 강화, 한국디자인진흥재단(가칭)의 설립, 한국디자인단체총연합회(KFDA)의 위상 강화 등 새로운 도약을 위한 과제가 도출되었다.

베스트셀러와 한정판 상품의 판매촉진 기간 일치성 효과에 대한 탐색적 연구 (Exploring Promotion Duration Congruence for Best-Seller vs. Limited Edition Products)

  • Purpose: Despite the popularity of sales promotion as one of the key marketing tactics employed by many companies today, relatively little effort has been devoted to examining an interaction effect between promotion cues and promotion duration. Therefore, this study aims to examine how promotion cues and promotion duration will jointly affect consumers' attitudes toward promotions and purchase intentions. Research design, data, and methodology: The present study conducted an online experiment through the Qualtrics program in which a total of 141 participants were recruited from the Cloud panel members in the U.S. The experiment employed a 2(promotion cue: best-seller vs. limited edition) × 2(promotion duration: long vs. short) full factorial between-subjects design. Result: In the condition of best-selling sales promotion cue, a long promotion duration induced more positive promotion attitude and higher purchase intention, while in the condition of limited-edition sales promotion cue, the use of a short promotion duration contributed more positive promotion attitude and greater purchase intention. Conclusions: Marketers need to take the congruence between promotion cues and promotion duration into full consideration when designing effective sales promotion strategy.

온라인 패션 SOHO 쇼핑몰의 판매촉진특성 및 판매촉진전략 (Characteristics and Strategy of Sales Promotion for On-line Fashion SOHO Shopping Mall)

  • The purpose of this study is to search the characteristics and strategy of sales promotion in on-line fashion SOHO (Small Office Home Office) shopping malls. 87 of these shopping malls have been selected through a ranking service called 100HOT (http://www.100hot.co.kr), and 906 cases of sales promotion activities have been executed on web-sites of these shopping malls. The cases have been analyzed by descriptive statistics and chi-square analysis. The results are as follows: First, on-line fashion SOHO shopping malls have frequently used sales promotion tactics such as demonstration, display, viral marketing, sale, event, customer compensation, community marketing, experimental marketing, coupon, premium, reserve fund and delivery service. Second, there are significant differences between shopping malls for men and women in sales promotion tactics such as demonstration, viral marketing, sale, and community marketing, but there is no significant difference in tactics such as demonstration, event, and customer compensation. Third, the shopping malls have used various sales promotion strategies such as maximizing the sales, characterizing product features, procuring new customers, preserving existing customers, enhancing customer loyalty, improving customer relationship and controlling returns.

The Efficacy of a Promotional Strategy of Shopping Malls

  • This study examined the efficacy of shopping malls�v isual experience and convenience (i.e., exterior and interior changes) and general promotions (i.e., price and non-price promotions) by investigating their level of accomplishing promotion objectives that include consumers�a wareness, interest, trial endorsement, willingness to purchase, and visits/spending. Results showed that in general, shopping malls�p romotions did not effectively accomplish any of the five promotion objectives. However, some promotion activities are more effective in achieving a specific objective than other promotion activities. Shopping malls should take advantages of the functions of different types of promotions to form a comprehensive promotion strategy.

  • Objectives: This paper aims to explain principles of gist-based health message design and discuss their implications for health promotion and public health education. Methods: After reviewing Reyna and Brainerd's Fuzzy Trace Theory(FTT), the authors explicate how to transform FTT into a practical guidance of health message design. Our explication is based upon FTT's reasoning that human intuition, rather than analysis, takes a primary role in message recall and comprehension, followed by judgment and decision making. We expect gist-based message design to be appropriate to serve such intuition. Results: Four principles of gist-based message design are offered: (1) provision of qualitative, as well as quantitative, information of gist, (2) inclusion of visual images corresponding to gist, (3) use of effective message formats to emphasize the gist (4) inclusion of relevant reasons and contextutal information. Conclusions: Gist-based message design has theoretical and practical implications for health promotion, specifically in the field of public health education, the press and governmental communication toward the public, and provider-patient communication in medical settings.

  • Objectives: By analysing the recent trends of published papers in the Korean Journal of Health Education and Promotion, this study aims to identify and discuss some challenging issues, and to provide recommendations for quality improvement of the research papers. Methods: One hundred and sixty five papers published between 2009 and 2011 were examined and categorized according to selected standards. Results are displayed in frequencies and percentages. Results: The volume of articles published has increased by two-folds in three decades since the publication of the first issue. More than 90% of the papers were original articles. Cross-sectional research design was most frequently applied, while only 11.5 % of the articles were intervention studies. For cross-sectional research articles, limitation in generalizability of the study findings was mentioned as one of the major issues, in relation with the frequent use of convenient sampling methods and lack of theoretical evidence in inclusion of variables. Consideration of internal and external validity of the study, utilization of scientific evaluation design and mixed evaluation methods were recommended for intervention research to improve the quality of the research results. Conclusion: To serve as a key resource for evidence-based practices in health promotion, more strict scientific research criteria should be applied to the articles published in the Korean Journal of Health Education and Promotion.

인터넷 패션 소호 쇼핑몰 활성화를 위한 촉진전략 연구 (A Study on the Promotion Strategy for Internet Fashion Soho Shopping Mall)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the promotion methods for successful management of 'the fashion saho internet shopping mall' with a small capital. This study analyze the research reports, the news items, the documents on the internet shopping mall and data on promotion method which are offered by the hosting companies of the internet shopping mall like 'Cafe 24', 'Make shop', 'Whoismall' and the promotion consulting companies like 'Whoisad', 'Naver keyword shop'. And also analyze the data that interviewed the administrator of internet shopping mall and directly observed the famous internet shopping mall sites. Generally speaking, the promotion mix, marketing communication program can classify 'advertisement', 'publicity', 'personal selling', and 'sales promotion'. This study analyze the research materials on the basis of advertisement, publicity, personal selling, and sales promotion. The result are as follows. 1. The promotion methods at the stage of information the shopping mall site to the consumer are advertisement, and publicity. ${\bigcirc}$ The methods of advertisement are 'searching engine registration', 'advertisement of key word', 'advertisement of overture', 'advertisement of banner', 'advertisement cooperation marketing', 'advertisement of e-mail'. ${\bigcirc}$ The methods of publicity are using 'cafe', 'blog', 'Naver information site', 'community bulletin board', 'the fashion magazine or a press report' and 'cosponsorship'. 2. The main promotion methods at the stage of inducing the purchase are 'personal selling', and various 'sales promotion'. ${\bigcirc}$ 'Personal selling' at the shopping mall have an effect on the communication at bulletin board over the internet and the telephone. ${\bigcirc}$ 'Sales promotion' are attempted by 'VMD', 'deposit system', 'sale', etc.

디자인문화 확산을 위한 국내 디자인진흥정책의 유형과 변화에 관한 연구 (Changes and Developments of Design Culture Diffusion Policies shown in Domestic Design Promotion Comprehensive Plans)

  • Since 1993, Korea Institute of Design Promotion has carried out Design Promotion Comprehensive Plan every 4 years and due to the institutes founding purpose the plans are mainly focused on enhancing quality of merchandise goods. However due to social and economic changes now enhancing quality of cultural living through design is becoming important as ever. The purpose of this paper is to find our characteristics and changes in design policies and programs to diffuse design culture in the plans. The researchers have inquired proceeding studies on cultural and design policies and also looked into cases that were carried out in Europe to diffuse design culture. By analyzing EU's Cultural Policies four means were found: Education, Exchange, Participation, and Sharing. The results are as follows. First, in the beginning main focus was to educate people about the importance of design and what good design is, in bureaucratic ways. In the Secondary plan, reaching out to local regions begin to show in order to diffuse design culture that was and still is mainly centered around Seoul. Thirdly plan shows more exchanges but not only limited to domestic regions but international wide. In the Forth plan, participation programs and those engaging design to solve social problems are shown but still not much attention is payed to sharing.
