  • Recently automated construction system is attended in construction domains because of the increase of aged workers and the shortage of the experienced. So, the proportion of automated construction in Korea is expected to be getting higher from partially automated robots to full automation systems. However, it is difficult for the automated system to operate flexibly like the human based on various work condition. In the result, the higher the level of automation in the system is, the less efficient the automated system work in the site. So, it's necessary the development component design to compensate for the flexibility shortage of the system. Therefore, this study proposes the development process to component design suitable for automated construction system using QFD technique.

  • It is difficult to design a component to satisfy several domain requirements and almost impossible to support a specific business logic completely. To satisfy this requirement, there need white box components rather than black box components. So, in this paper, we propose the variability design technique and the customization technique that can support the various requirements of domains. The initial variability of the component is designed at the CD (component development) phase and the customization technique is used for further application of the variability. In the paper, the behavior variability design and customization techniques are used for altering component behavior. As the components that have been developed using the variability technique can easily be re designed during the development of the applications, the variability of the components can be generalized further.

  • Code reuse in software reuse has several limitations such as difficulties of understanding and retrieval of the reuse code written by other developers. To overcome these problems, it should be possible to reuse the analysis/design information than source code itself. In this paper, we present analogical matching techniques for the reuse of object models and patterns. We have suggested the design patterns as reusable components and the representation techniques to store them. The contents of the paper is as follows.1. analogical matching functions to retrieve analogous components from reusable libraries. 2. the representation of reusable components to be stored in the library in order to support the analogical matching. 3. the design library with more semantic informations about domains. 4. the analogical matching agent with a user-friendly interface that can retrieve the analogous components from the library based on analogical matching techniques.

  • Devices of home network system have different control data formats according to each product company. Therefore, types or protocols of digital devices are various. Also, interaction operating environments are different among various devices. These characteristics of home network system don't support sufficiently functionalities such as data comparability, concurrent control, dynamic plug-in, and so on. That is, the degree of reusability of home network system is very poor. This paper proposes a framework which can be coverable to the scope of reusability widely and a design technique based on framework in order to improve reusability. That is, we extract various parts of home network systems as variation points, classify and define these as variation types, propose a framework which can be reusable those, and proposes a design technique of variability to improve reusability. Finally, proposed technique can be reusable to various domains by applying proposed reusability framework into real home network system's design.

  • The demands of computer science education for non-majors in higher education is increasing but relevant evaluation tools for the students' computational artifacts are lack. This research aims to develop a scoring rubric to assess student's computational artifacts in non-major programming course at Computational Thinking point of view. The rubric was developed based on 'CT Practice Design Pattern' as a framework. The rubric consists of 'domain, skills, evaluation, evaluating resources, and scales'. Domains are 'Design of abstract model', 'Design and application of creative artifacts', and 'Analysis of the artifacts'. Experts reviewed the rubric to ensure contents validity. The rubric is resulted in reliable for consistency. This rubric can be revised and applied to application environment accordingly.

  • Recently, the requirements of the embedded software are getting diverse as the diversity of embedded software application fields increases. The systematic development methods are issued to deal with the dependency between hardware and software. However, the existing development methods have not considered the software's close connection to hardware and the high-level reusability for common requirements of several similar domains. In this paper, we propose a design method of development process model of product lines to support an efficient development method for embedded software. For this, we firstly suggest a domain scoping method and an IDEF0(Integration DEFinition)-based business model for extracting the efficient requirements. Next, we present a component deriving method based on the service architecture and an architecture design method after considering the hardware dependency. And we explain the artifacts of MSDFS(Multi Sensor Data Fusion System) at each design step in order to show how the proposed model can be applied to the embedded software development.

  • An Internet of Things(IoT) technology which provides intelligent services by combining context-awareness based intelligences, inter-communication is made of between things and things or between things and person through the network connected with intelligent things is spreading rapidly. Especially as this technology is converged into smart device, mobile, cloud, big data technologies, it is applied into various domains. Therefore, this is different from existing Web or Mobile Application. New types of IoT applications are emerging by adapting IoT into Web or mobile. Because IoT application is not only focused on software but also considering hardware or things aspect, there are limitations existing development process. Existing development processes don't consider analysis and design techniques considering both hardware and things. We propose not only a meta-model for development process which can support IoT application's development but also meta-models for main activities in this paper. Especially we define modeling elements by using UML's extension mechanisms, provide development process, and suggest design techniques how to apply those elements into IoT application's modeling phase. Because there are many types of IoT application's type, we propose an Android and Arduino-based on IoT application as a case study. We expect that proposed technique can be applied into many of various IoT application development and design with a form of flexible and extensible as well as main functionalities or elements are more concretely described. As a result, it brings IoT application's flexibility and the effect of quality improvement.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the difference in the priority level of recognition for universal design application in public spaces by gender. Method: ANOVA(analysis of variance) and post-hoc test were conducted to determine the priority level of recognition and pattern for the disabled, non-disabled, and experts classified into males and females. Results: There was no gender difference in the comparison by sector for all males and females. However, in comparing of domains and facilities, women showed a higher level of recognition than men in the building sector and cross domain. When comparing space consumers and producers by dividing them into male and female groups, women showed a higher level of recognition than men in producers, but there was no gender difference between consumers. In comparison by sector, domain and facility, women producers also showed a higher level of recognition in the road sector, park and recreation sector, sidewalk domain, four-spaces in the park and recreation sector, and six-spaces in the building sector than men producers. Also, in the building sector, women producers and consumers showed a higher recognition level than men. Comparing the disabled, non-disabled people and experts by dividing them into male and female groups, in the case of non-disabled people and experts, women showed a higher level of recognition than men, while men showed a higher level of recognition than women in the disabled. In addition, there were differences in recognition patterns in many spaces and facilities by gender. Implications: This study is meaningful in comparing the differences in the priority level of recognition and patterns between men and women to apply universal design for people of all ages and both sexes.
