A Study on the Development of Fabric Electronics' Customized Smart Bag Using Computer Embroidery (컴퓨터 자수기를 활용한 일렉트로닉스 커스터마이즈 스마트 가방 개발 연구)

  • This paper presents an investigation into the development of a fabric electronics based smart bag for festival users of the 2029 generation with customizable tech flaps (music media control/ LED animated graphic functions) based on the application of traditional Korean patterns and goblin patterns in an electric circuit. The investigator took into consideration functional and design strategies to enable custom service according to users' tastes and situations. Based on these considerations, a customizable smart bag platform was proposed in a detachable module based on a computer embroidery machine. The study is significant in that it developed a product that is different from the old PCB smart products in hard form and proposed a new business model.

Development of Skin Type Airbag Helmet through Consumer Oriented Concept Design and the Cushion Part's Impact Analysis (소비자 맞춤형 개념설계 및 쿠션부 충격해석을 통한 외피형 에어백 헬멧 개발)

  • This study was initiated to minimize head injuries, which is the largest cause of increased external activity, traffic accident injuries, and death. We developed a low cost airbag that can be covered by a safety helmet based on consumer needs. The results of the survey showed that safety is the most important aspect of consumers' safety helmets. It also predicted that increasing the weight would present the biggest problem. Curved airbag cushion parts that can be attached to a helmet and the sensor part of a block type were designed. Impact analysis was performed by specifying the pressure inside the airbag and the volume of the airbag as variables.

Optical Illumination System Design for LED Masthead Navigation Light (LED 광원을 이용한 마스트 항해등 조명광학계 개발)

  • This paper dealt with the LED optical illumination system design for the Masthead navigation light to replace halogen lamps. We made Fresnel lens satisfy luminous intensity distribution of "Convention on the International Regulation for Preventing Collisions at Sea(COLREG)". The optical system is designed by classifying three parts: light source, lens, and cut off plate. The source of light has been made to have the uniform horizontal and vertical light distribution by placing 6 LEDs at intervals of $54^{\circ}$, and as the cylindrical Fresnel lens, the lens has been designed to achieve the uniform horizontal and vertical light distribution in the range of plain light. Finally, the cover has been designed to block the light from the outside of plain light and ultimately met the standards for light distribution of navigation lights. In addition, the validity of design has been verified with manufacturing a trial product.

Digital Audio Effect System-on-a-Chip Based on Embedded DSP Core

  • This paper describes the implementation of a digital audio effect system-on-a-chip (SoC), which integrates an embedded digital signal processor (DSP) core, audio codec intellectual property, a number of peripheral blocks, and various audio effect algorithms. The audio effect SoC is developed using a software and hardware co-design method. In the design of the SoC, the embedded DSP and some dedicated hardware blocks are developed as a hardware design, while the audio effect algorithms are realized using a software centric method. Most of the audio effect algorithms are implemented using a C code with primitive functions that run on the embedded DSP, while the equalization effect, which requires a large amount of computation, is implemented using a dedicated hardware block with high flexibility. For the optimized implementation of audio effects, we exploit the primitive functions of the embedded DSP compiler, which is a very efficient way to reduce the code size and computation. The audio effect SoC was fabricated using a 0.18 ${\mu}m$ CMOS process and evaluated successfully on a real-time test board.

  • Lately, the development of the semiconductor industry has led to the miniaturization of electronic devices. Therefore, semiconductor wafers of very thin thickness that can be used in Multi-Chip Packages are required. There is active research on the backgrinding process to reduce the thickness of the wafer. The backgrinding process polishes the backside of the wafer, reducing the thickness of the wafer to tens of ㎛. The equipment that performs the backgrinding process requires ultra-precision. Currently, there is no full auto backgrinding equipment in Korea. Therefore, in this study, ultra-precision backgrinding equipment was designed. In addition, finite element analysis was conducted to verify the equipment design validity. The deflection and structural stability of the backgrinding equipment were analyzed using finite element analysis.

Development of Optical Illusion Design Pattern for Furniture Using a UV Curing Resin (UV 경화성 수지를 이용한 가구용 옵티컬 일루젼 디자인 패턴 개발)

  • The design trend is changed with the times. The design trend of recent 21 century is eco-friendly design. The optical illusion design is a new trend of digital convergence era. In this study, optical illusion patterns were designed for furniture with eco-friendly UV-curable resin. The micro-patterns of optical illusion design were fabricated with the micro-mold which was mastered using a semiconductor micro-fabrication process by photolithography technique. The micro-patterns of optical illusion design were manufactured on PET film with a roll-to-roll process using a UV-curable resin. The manufactured PET film of optical illusion micro-pattern exhibits hologram effect, optical illusion effect, and texture of metal with the backside digital printing of metal tone. The furniture of new design concept so-called emotional furniture was manufactured with the various optical illusion design patterns. The optical illusion design patterns by UV mold prospect a new trend of interior design materials.

Old building green remodeling design cases study analysis using solar cell (태양전지를 활용한 노후 건축물 그린 리모델링 디자인 사례분석 연구)

  • Based on the analysis of domestic and international cases of green remodeling design for old buildings using solar cells, which have been in the spotlight around the world since the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, this study wanted to confirm the positive aspects and implications of the future green remodeling design proposal using solar cells. As a method of research, theoretical consideration was conducted based on literature research, and cases of green remodeling design using solar cells at home and abroad were investigated and analyzed. As a result, the ease of construction through flexible features, aesthetic effect through transparency and color adjustment of thin film cells, economic effect of less waste of materials through free size production, and harmonious aspect with the building through direct attachment of exterior were identified. Based on this, it is expected to present the expected effects of using thin-film solar cells for green remodeling designs, and to be used as a reference for the future design proposal for green remodeling of old buildings using solar cells.

A Comparative Study on the Interior Design of Korean-Chinese Coffee Shop - Focusing on the Starbucks (한·중 커피전문점의 실내 공간 환경 디자인 비교 연구 - 스타벅스를 중심으로)

  • As the rapid pace of modern society, people's daily life is becoming tenser and busier. We need a place to relax and to release our pressure. Coffee shops therefor become one of our best choice. With the strengthening of the expansion of the localized Starbucks coffee shop, it becomes extremely urgent for other coffee shops to enhance the space environment design to become outstanding in the coffee shop market. This paper researches and compares the indoor environment design of Starbucks coffee shops in four cities in China, namely Shanghai, Suzhou, Shenzhen and Beijing and four cities in Korea, namely Busan, Seoul, Seoul and Jeju. By comparing the design characteristics and the style of the interior environment of Korea-China coffee shops, we analyze the various elements of space design and summarize the differences in the environmental design of Korea-China Starbucks coffee shops. Moreover, we propose the strategic direction for the future design and the future development of coffee shops. The survey results show that the indoor environment design of Starbucks coffee brand mainly highlights the regional cultural characteristics. Starbucks shops utilize the fashion culture elements based on the local economic and cultural characteristics, aiming at creating a characteristic coffee brand culture and promoting the vigorous development of the coffee market.

  • In the case of an energy base device (EBD), which is used for treatment in dermatology, it is difficult to access it as a design, and because the range of users is narrow, there is a lack of research data considering the user's convenience. This study is a research paper that analyzes the problems and needs felt by doctors and nurses from the user's point of view of dermatology EBD, and seeks directions for improvement. After identifying the types and components of EBD through literature and observational research. Problems of each component of EBD were identified through a questionnaire on the use status and satisfaction level targeting users. After that, through a group discussion of experts, the principle of evaluating the usability of PUI design of Energy Base Devices was derived. The EBD's PUI design usability evaluation principle derived in this paper can be used as basic data to supplement the problems of EBD design, and is expected to improve the usability of EBD to be designed in the future.

A study on the service design using 360° VR prototype -Focusing on the Case of Public Service Design by Citizen Autonomy (360° VR 프로토타입을 활용한 서비스디자인에 관한 연구 -주민자치형 공공서비스디자인 사례를 중심으로-)

  • The Ministry of the Interior and Safety amends the enforcement ordinance of the public service design method and applies it to the project tasks of each institution and cases of social problem solving and public service innovation are increasing according to service design methodology. This study is to develop the $360^{\circ}$ VR content element in order to deliver the understanding and effective improvement of the service to the consumers in the process of problem discovery and the prototype that visualize the key solution according to the service design methodology. By applying it to the actual public service design project, it was possible to predict the result with high satisfaction after improvement. This paper is meaningful in that it proposes new approach and empirical value to consumers and contribute to the improvement of the service design process as a convergence study on the future service design using the $360^{\circ}$ VR prototype.
