  • The purpose of this study was to investigate explanations of science textbooks and science teachers' conceptions related to freezing point depression phenomenon. Seven kinds of middle school science textbooks and five kinds of high school chemistryII textbooks were analyzed for the purpose. The teachers' conceptions were searched by a questionnaire developed in this study. The subjects were 146 science teachers. The explanation types of science textbooks were divided into two; 'Description of the phenomenon' and 'Vapor pressure lowering'. The explanations in most of middle school science textbooks and high school chemistryII textbooks belong to 'Description of the phenomenon' and there was no explanation of the reason. The graphs related to depression of freezing point were diverse, too. Most of the science teachers also did not have scientific conception. The percentage of the teachers who thought that the cause of freezing point depression was blocking of solute in solution was high. But the teacher could not find meaningful relation the 'Blocking of solute' explanation represented for elevation of boiling point with depression of freezing point. It is insisted that entropy concept is need to explain depression of freezing point phenomenon in this study.

Third, there was a negative correlation between school life adjustment and some stress factors, all depression factors. Also relationship between school life adjustment and social support showed a positive correlation. Fourth, Taking a look at the impact on school life adjustment, family factors and practical environmental factors in the stress factors and the feeling of worthlessness in the depression factors appeared to influence negatively. Also teachers' support in the social support factors showed positive effects. Explanatory power of the final regression model was 25.6%. Conclusions: The first step in order to improve the school life adjustment of athletes in middle and high school is the teachers' support. Athletes in middle and high school can have capability, responsibility, initiatives through teachers' attention and affection. • This study aimed to investigate how child neglect abuse by parents, children's intimacy with teachers and peer attachment influenced boys' and girls' psycho-social maladjustment(aggression, social withdrawal and depression). The subjects were 2,264 elementary school students(boys: 1,180, girls: 1,084) in upper grades participating in the Korea Child Youth Panel Surveys. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, correlations and hierarchical regressions. The main results of this study were as follows. Firstly, regardless of children's sex, as child abuse levels by parents are higher, so children's aggression levels are higher. Also, children's intimacy with teachers and peer attachment moderated the effects of child neglect abuse by parents on both boys' and girls' aggression. But the patters of moderating effects were differed in children's sex. Secondly, child neglect abuse by parents didn't influence boys' and girls' social withdrawal and boys' peer attachment moderated the effects of child neglect by parents on boys' social withdrawal. Finally, child abuse by parents strongly influenced boys' depression, but child neglect by parents strongly influenced girls' depression. Also, there were no moderating effects of children's intimacy with teachers and peer attachment on the relation between child abuse neglect by parents, and boys' and girls' depression.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify variables dichotomizing adolescents into online game addiction-latency group and non-addiction group. Based on ecologic theory, individual system(self-esteem, self-control, depression, stress-coping strategy), family system(parental support), and social system(teachers' support and peer-group support) were suggest for variables affecting online game addiction of adolescents. 612 adolescents were tested for game addiction, self-esteem, self-control, depression, stress-coping strategy, and social supports from parents, teachers, and peer group. Independent t-tests showed between-group differences in self-esteem, self-control, depression, aggressive, and negative-avoiding stress-coping strategies, parental support, and peer-group support. Binary logistic regression analyses revealed that aggressive stress-coping strategy of social system and peer-group support of social system had significant influences on the division of the groups.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the elementary pre-service teachers' conceptions on 'the freezing point depression' focusing on the survey from a National University of Education. Eighteen pre-service teachers who had completed high school Chemistry II coursework were selected to participate in the study. Participants answered a four question survey to measure their scientific knowledge and conceptions of this phenomenon. Each answer was qualitatively analyzed to determine whether they have 'scientific conceptions' or 'quasi-scientific conceptions' or 'misconceptions'. The results from the study are as follows: First, it was showed that none of the eighteen participants had 'scientific conceptions', six had 'quasi-scientific conceptions' and eight had 'misconceptions' about the caused effect when $CaCl_2$ is scattered on the ice. Second, it was found that three participants had 'scientific conceptions', eight had 'quasi-scientific conceptions' and two had 'misconceptions' for the second survey question. Third, ten out of eighteen participants demonstrated 'scientific conceptions' about the phenomenon of salt water freezing. Fourth, only three of eighteen participants illustrated appropriate 'scientific conceptions' for the fourth survey question. Fifth, of all participants, none answered more than three questions correctly, and only three participants answered any combination of two questions correctly. Based on the findings of this study, five explanatory models were developed. And the models were proposed for pre-service teachers to enhance their understanding of the freezing point depression phenomenon.

For this study self-reporting Kovacs's children's depression inventory(C.D.I) was administered for primary school children. and 8 children were selected in experimental and control group each. The experimental group acted the psychodrama for 15 session. The first follow-up test was executed at 8 weeks after pre-test and second follow-up test at 10 weeks after first follow- up. Every time children acted the psychodrama all behaviors had been recorded. Also in order to find out any changes in daily life after the psychodrama their parents class teachers and children themselves were interviewed. Basal depression level was 23.38 for experimental group and 23.63 for control group. Depression level of experimental group was reduced to 12.38(p<0.01) There was significant difference in depression level between experimental and control group (p<0.01) Reducing effect of experi ental group by the psychodrama was maintained as well. As a result group psychotherapy oriented psychodrama was effective to reduce depression level of childern. Group psychotherapy oriented psychodrama program for children need to be developed for more effectiveness.
