In this paper, we investigate the optimal packet scheduling problem in a two-user multiple access communication system, where the transmitters are able to harvest energy from the nature. Under a deterministic system setting, we assume that the energy harvesting times and harvested energy amounts are known before the transmission starts. For the packet arrivals, we assume that packets have already arrived and are ready to be transmitted at the transmitter before the transmission starts. Our goal is to minimize the time by which all packets from both users are delivered to the destination through controlling the transmission powers and transmission rates of both users. We first develop a generalized iterative backward waterfilling algorithm to characterize the maximum departure region of the transmitters for any given deadline T. Then, based on the sequence of maximum departure regions at energy arrival instants, we decompose the transmission completion time minimization problem into convex optimization problems and solve the overall problem efficiently.
It is anticipated that, in cases in which different train operators share railway network, conflicts may occur among train operators with regard to train operation rate, train priorities, and arrival and departure time; besides this, during times when there is high demand for trains, operators will request train operations intensively, steadily increasing train conflict phenomena. In the present study, train operation sequence, minimum headway, arrival and departure time, train priorities, etc., were analyzed, and while using train departure times as decision variables in variably given train schedules, by adjusting train time requested by train operators, and finally rejecting the train times in cases in which conflict resolution is impossible, so that various constraints can be satisfied, a train slot allocation model was suggested to find the objective function, that is, the maximum number of train slots that can be practically applicable to railway operation.

The change of traffic by the CDV is entered in a condensed form in UUC/NPC, overflowing the buffer of the net and possibly causing its congestion. For this reason this paper proposes the Cell Spacing Scheme. As the Cell Shaping Scheme, two method is proposed ; RAT based on the time in which cells enter the spacer and RDT based on the time in which cells come out from the spacer. This paper proposes the improved spacing sheme in which the departure time of the present cell determines the departure time of the next one, by combining with Leaky Bucket and on the traffic characteristics of ATM network.
A formulation of dynamic traffic assignment between multiple origins and single destination was first introduced in 1987 by Merchant and Nemhauser, and then expanded for multiple destination in the late 1980's (Carey, 1987). Based on behavioral choice theory which provides proper demand elasticities with respect to changes in policy variables, traffic phenomena can be analysed more realistically, especially in peak periods. However, algorithms for these models are not well developed so far(working with only small toy network) and solutions of these models are not unique. In this paper, a new model is developed which keeps the simplicity of static models, but provides the sensitivity of dynamic models with changes of O-D flows over time. It can be viewed as a joint departure time and route choice model, in the given time periods(6-7, 7-8, 8-9 and 9-10 am). Standard multinomial logit model has been used for simulating the choice behavior of destination, mode, route and departure time within a framework of the incremental network assignment model. The model developed is workable in a PC 386 with 175 traffic zones and 3581 links of Seoul and tested for evaluating the exclusive use of Namsan tunnel for HOV and the left-turn prohibition. Model's performance results and their statistical significance are also presented.
The baking quality of flours produced from Dark Northern Spring(DNS). Hard Red Winter(HRW) and Australian Standard White(ASW) were examined. To improve the baking quality of HRW and ASW, oxidants such as dehydroascorbic acid(DHA) and potassium bromate$(KBrO_3)$ were added. The protein content of HRW was about 3% higher than that of ASW but the specific volume of the baked gluten extracted from HRW and ASW were nearly same. By addition of DHA 100ppm and $KBrO_3$ 50ppm as oxidants to HRW and ASW, the farinogram's stability was strengthened and departure time, time to breakdown were extended. The specific volume of the bread based on HRW was very small but it was improved significantly by addition of oxidants. According to the quality scoring of bread, the breads based on DNS, HRW and ASW were 93, 72 and 75, respectively. The baking quality of HRW was improved by DHA and $KBrO_3$ but not much in ASW.

Airport operations are well-known as a bottleneck in the air traffic system, putting growing pressure on the world's busiest airports to schedule arrivals and departures as efficiently as possible. Effective planning and control are essential for increasing airport efficiency and reducing aircraft delays. Many algorithms for controlling the arrival/departure queuing area are handled, considering it as first in first out queues, where any available aircraft can take off regardless of its relative sequence with other aircraft. In the suggested system, this problem was compared to the problem of scheduling n tasks (plane takeoffs and landings) on a multiple machine (runways). The proposed technique decreases delays (via efficient runway allocation or allowing aircraft to be expedited to reach a scheduled time) to enhance runway capacity and decrease delays. The aircraft scheduling problem entails arranging aircraft on available runways and scheduling their landings and departures while considering any operational constraints. The topic of this work is the scheduling of aircraft landings and takeoffs on multiple runways. Each aircraft's takeoff and landing schedules have time windows, as well as minimum separation intervals between landings and takeoffs. We present and evaluate a variety of comprehensive concepts and solutions for scheduling aircraft arrival and departure times, intending to reduce delays relative to scheduled times. When compared to First Come First Serve scheduling algorithm, the suggested strategy is usually successful in reducing the average waiting time and average tardiness while optimizing runway use.
This paper proposed a dynamic transit vehicle simulation model and a dynamic transit passengers simulation model, which can simultaneously simulate the transit vehicles and passengers traveling on a transit network, and also developed an algorithm of dynamic departure time choice model based on individual passenger. The proposed model assumes that each passenger's behavior is heterogeneous based on stochastic process by relaxing the assumption of homogeneity among passengers and travelers have imperfect information and bounded rationality to more actually represent and to simulate each passenger's behavior. The proposed model integrated a inference and preference reforming procedure into the learning and decision making process in order to describe and to analyze the departure time choices of transit passengers. To analyze and evaluate the model an example transit line heading for work place was used. Numerical results indicated that in the model based on heterogeneous passengers the travelers' preference influenced more seriously on the departure time choice behavior, while in the model based on homogeneous passengers it does not. The results based on homogeneous passengers seemed to be unrealistic in the view of rational behavior. These results imply that the aggregated travel demand models such as the traditional network assignment models based on user equilibrium, assuming perfect information on the network, homogeneity and rationality, might be different from the real dynamic travel demand patterns occurred on actual network.
The purpose of this paper is to develop a method for estimation of reliable path-travel time using data obtained from the toll collection system on freeways. The toll collection system records departure and arrival time stamps as well as the identification numbers of arrival and destination tollgates for all the individual vehicles traveling between tollgates on freeways. Two major issues reduce accuracy when estimating path-travel time between an origin and destination tollgate using transaction data collected by the toll collection system. First, travel time calculated by subtracting departure time from arrival time does not explain path-travel time from origin tollgate to destination tollgate when a variety of available paths exist between tollgates. Second, travel time may include extra time spent in service and/or rest areas. Moreover. ramp driving time is included because tollgates are installed before on-ramps and after off-ramps. This paper describes an algorithm that searches for arrival time when departure time is given between tollgates by a Progressive Iterative Forward and Backward (PIFAB) search method. The algorithm eventually produces actual path-travel times that exclude any time spent in service and/or rest areas as well as ramp driving time based on a link-based procedure.
