치열 교정환자의 치과 의료서비스 만족도에 관한 연구 (Satisfaction with Dental Care in Orthodontic Patients)

  • 사회, 경제적으로 발전하면서 환자들이 치과를 내원하는 동기가 다양해졌다. 부정교합으로 인한 안모의 개선과 저작 기능을 개선하고자 치과를 찾는 인구가 점차 늘어나고 있으며, 교정치료에 대한 관심의 증가와 더불어 수요도 증가하고 있어서 교정환자들의 치과 의료서비스의 만족도를 측정하여 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 파악하여 의료 환경변화에 대한 치과경영대책 차원에서 치과 의료기관의 수익성과 의료의 질적 수준을 높이기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 2005년 3월 7일부터 3월 26일까지 20일간 편의 표본을 추출하여 설문조사를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 치과 의료서비스 만족도를 구성요인별로 비교한 결과 교정환자에서 치위생사요인 (4.21)에 대한 만족도가 높았고, 진료절차 및 대기시간요인(3.73)이 가장 낮았다. 2. 성별에 따른 교정환자와 비교정환자의 치과 의료서비스에 대한 만족도는 교정환자에서 남자가 여자보다 만족도가 높았다. 재이용의사에서는 교정환자의 남녀 모두가 비교정 환자보다 만족도가 높았다. 3. 연령에 따른 교정환자와 비교정환자의 치과 의료서비스에 대한 만족도는 재이용의사에서 교정환자의 모든 연령층이 만족도가 높았다. 4. 월수입에 따른 교정환자와 비교정환자의 치과 의료서비스에 대한 만족도는 교정환자가 치위생사요인과 재이용의사에서 고소득일수록 만족도가 높았다. 5. 학력에 따른 교정환자와 비교정환자의 치과 의료서비스 만족도를 살펴보면 치과의사 요인, 치위생사요인, 내부 환경요인, 외부환경요인에서 초등학교졸업환자의 만족도가 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 연구결과로 교정환자에서 비교정환자보다 치과 의료서비스 만족도가 높은 것을 알 수 있었다.

일부지역 장애인구강진료센터 이용 만족도에 미치는 요인 (Factors affecting the satisfaction of persons with disabilities at community oral care centers)

  • Background: To identify the factors that affect the current status and satisfaction of people with disabilities at community oral care centers. Methods: A structured self-administered survey, including five questions on facility environment, five on usage procedure, four on medical skill, four on care cost, three on friendliness, and three on satisfaction, was administered to 218 residents of the G-disabled community care center. It comprised a Likert 5-point scale (strongly agree, 5 points; agree, 4 points; moderate, 3 points; disagree, 2 points; not at all, 1 point). The reliability of the measurement tool was 0.932 for Cronbach's α. Results: The evaluation of community oral care centers for the disabled showed that the environment was hygienic (4.42±0.73), reservation system was well maintained (4.18±0.95), and the dentist-in-charge was satisfied with the treatment (4.37±0.62). The participants agreed that the details were sufficiently explained (4.29±0.71). However, in terms of medical expenses, the score of "have fully heard the explanation of medical expenses and reductions" was 3.88±0.92. The factors affecting satisfaction were sex, final educational background in the facility environment, usage procedure, and medical skill. Conclusion: To increase the satisfaction of people with disabilities at community oral care centers, it is necessary to establish a facility environment and service according to the patients' need and increase the reduction or exemption benefits between different treatment cost categories. Oral health management policies for the disabled should be developed based on these factors, so that the oral care of vulnerable groups in blind spots can be maintained.

교정환자의 교정치료 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors that Affect Orthodontic Patients Satisfaction about Orthodontic Treatment)

  • Purpose: The study has been undertaken on several factors that may influence on the orthodontic treatment satisfaction with the subject of male and female university students who have experience in receiving the orthodontic treatment by visiting orthodontic clinic. Methods: This study has implemented questionnaire survey for 350 male and female university students who have experience in receiving the orthodontic treatment by visiting orthodontic clinic due to the mall occlusion, From the 350 questionnaires collected, a total of 291 copies (83.1%) excluding the questionnaires that have inconclusive response or erroneous response is used as the research analysis data Results: The orthodontic treatment satisfaction is significantly higher for students in large cities and mid- to small sized cities than students in rural area, and it was higher for students with mid-economic class that students of upper class and lower class. It is shown for a student that began the orthodontic treatment from the elementary school, a student that had 5 times or more of brushing teeth for each day had significantly higher level of satisfaction that students that are not. In addition, a student that knows well of the oral hygiene management method, a student that had the fluoride application treatment during the orthodontic treatment period and a student that used the toothbrush for orthodontic service had significantly higher level of satisfaction that students that are not. Conclusion: Factors influencing on the orthodontic treatment satisfaction are very diverse and it is considered that it requires effort to improve the quality of medical service and sufficient understanding on several factors to improve the orthodontic treatment satisfaction for patients as well as the encouragement for orthodontic treatment patients of the relevant people in orthodontic clinics that provide the orthodontic clinic service.

치과위생사의 자기결정성동기가 직무열의에 미치는 영향 및 보상 만족도의 조절효과 (Effect of Self-determination Motivation on Job Engagement and the Moderating Effect of Compensation Satisfaction in Dental Hygienists)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was two-fold: to identify the effect of dental hygienist's self-determination motivation on their job engagement and to analyze the moderating effect of compensation satisfaction that affect the relevance. Methods : Data were collected using a structured self-report questionnaire administered to 260 dental hygienists working in dental hospitals and clinics in Busan, South Korea. These were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 26.0 and SPSS Process Macro 3.5. A frequency analysis, including the respondents' general characteristics, frequency, percentages, and standard deviations, was performed. A regression analysis was also performed using SPSS Process Macro to verify the moderating effect of compensation satisfaction in the effect of self-determination motivation on job engagement. Results : The self-determination motivation of the dental hygienists had a statistically significant positive effect on their job engagement, which was the dependent variable. Higher intangible compensation satisfaction levels led to a stronger effect of intrinsic motivation but a weaker effect of extrinsic motivation on job engagement. Moreover, higher tangible compensation satisfaction levels strengthened the effect of intrinsic motivation on job engagement. Conclusion : Recently, the demand for oral health care has been increasing, Competition in the dental medical service market warrants, high-quality dental services based on accurate diagnosis and treatment. In this context, dental hygienists' job engagement must be improved. For this purpose, increasing the satisfaction of dental hygienists with self-determination motivation and appropriate compensation is effective. In addition, attention must be paid to the moderating effect of compensation satisfaction on the relationship between intrinsic motivation and job engagement. On the basis of the implications of this study, the results can be used as basic data for improving dental hygienists' welfare system and manpower management.

치과 교정치료환자와 일반치료환자의 의료서비스 만족도 관련요인 (Comparison of Related Influencing Factors on Medical Services Satisfaction between General Dental Patients and Orthodontic Patients)

  • 최근 치과치료를 위해 병원을 방문하는 것뿐만 아니라, 교정치료를 위한 방문이 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 교정치료환자와 일반치료환자의 의료서비스 만족도에 미치는 관련 요인을 비교 고찰하기 위하여 2015년 9월 1일부터 9월 30일에 걸쳐 대구 경북지역 소재의 치과 의료기관에 치료 중인 환자 421명을 임의표본 추출하여 비교 분석하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 다변량 분석결과, 교정치료환자와 일반치료환자의 공통된 유의한 관련성이 있는 독립변수는 의료진과 진료비인 것으로 나타났으며, 일반치료환자의 경우 추가로 치과치료 시 공포감이 의료서비스 만족도에 유의한 변수로 나타났다. 따라서 환자에 대한 의료서비스 만족도를 제고하기 위해서는 양질의 의료서비스와 적절한 진료비 제공이 공통적으로 필요하고, 특히 일반치료환자의 경우에는 통증감소를 위한 상담관리와 치과치료 공포감 완화를 포함한 종합적인 맞춤식 서비스 제고 방안이 요구된다.

일개대학 National Competency Standard (NCS) 교과목 운영에 관한 연구: 예방치학 및 실습 교과목 중심으로 (Development and implementation of national competency standard: based on preventive dentistry and practice)

  • Objective: The purpose of the study is to investigate the curriculum development and operation based on national competency standard (NCS). Methods: The duty of the dental hygienist was analyzed based on DACUM by ten experts in January, 2011. The duty model of the dental hygienist was inspected after duty analysis. The subjects of choice were preventive dentistry and practice. The satisfaction with the subjects were carried out from March to June, 2015. Results: The duty analysis of dental hygienist by DACUM produced preventive dental treatment(11 tasks), oral health education(3 tasks), comprehensive dental hygiene treatment(6 tasks) and 12 categories(156 tasks). Preventive dental treatment was divided into preventive dentistry and practice, oral health education was changed into oral health education and practice, and comprehensive dental hygiene treatment was replace by comprehensive dental hygiene and practice. The contents of preventive dentistry and practice included outline, learning objective, related knowledge and self evaluation. Professional evaluation required mutual experience and evaluation of the students. The mutual evaluation of the students was $4.61{\pm}0.506$(dental plaque control) and $1.80{\pm}0.316$(tooth brushing). The professional evaluation was $1.73{\pm}0.274$(dental plaque control) and $1.60{\pm}0.322$(tooth brushing)(p<0.01). The satisfaction with preventive dentistry and practice was $4.61{\pm}0.506$(improvement in practical work ability), $4.58{\pm}0.511$(knowledge improvement) and $4.55{\pm}0.572$(NCS educational environment) in order. Conclusions: The operation of NCS curriculum is considered to improve practical work ability and to solve skill mismatch between dental industries and educational training institutions.

고등학생의 치과병원 결정요인과 의료서비스 만족도 관련 연구 (A Study on Determinants of Dental Clinic and Satisfaction of Dental Service in High School Students)

  • 의료시장 개방 등으로 의료시장이 확대되면서 일반 병원 뿐만 아니라 치과 병·의원에서도 고객 서비스 제공을 위한 다양한 시도를 하고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 고등학생을 대상으로 치과병원 결정요인과 의료서비스 만족도에 관해 조사하고자 2019년 9월부터 10월 사이 편의표본추출 방법으로 일부지역 고등학교 재학생을 대상으로 조사하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 일반적인 특성에 따르면, 스케일링 경험, 교정 치료, 학교 생활에 대한 만족도, 주관적인 구강 건강 상태가 치과 병원의 만족도와 관련성이 있었다. 직원 서비스 만족도가 가장 중요한 병원결정요인이었고, 병원 결정 요인 중 시설, 타인의 추천, 사용 절차, 서비스 적절성, 직원 서비스 만족도가 의료 서비스 만족도와 유의 한 양의 상관 관계가 있었다. 치과 병원 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로, 주관적인 구강 건강이 음의 관련성, 이용 절차와 직원 서비스 만족도는 양의 관련성을 나타냈다. 이 연구는 일부 지역 고등학생을 대상으로 도출된 결과이기에 일반화 할 수는 없겠지만 서비스 경쟁력을 높여 환자의 만족도를 높이는 것이 병원선택에 중요한 요인이라고 할 수 있겠다.

부산지역 치과위생사의 근무경력에 따른 직무만족도에 관한 연구 (A study on job satisfaction according to clinical dental hygienists' career in Busan)

  • This study purposed to analyze dental hygienists' job satisfaction according to their clinical career as an effort to enhance their job satisfaction and quality and to provide basic materials for dental hygienists' effective job performance. For this purpose, we surveyed 120 dental hygienists working at dental hospitals and clinics in Busan during the period from the $1^{st}$ February to $31^{st}$ March 2009 by using a self administered questionnaire. Job satisfaction was measured using a 5 point Likert scale ranging from 'Absolutely yes' (5 points) to 'Yes' (4), 'So so' (3), 'No' (2), and 'Not at all' (1), and a high score indicates high degree of satisfaction. When it testd the reliability of the job satisfaction scale was tested, Cronbach's Alpha (${\alpha}$) was 0.85 which indicates the instrument is sufficiently reliable. Data collected were analyzed with SPSS. We performed frequency analysis in order to examine the subjects' demographical characteristics, and Chi square and one way ANOVA to examine their perception of their job, job satisfaction, and their aptitude and status as a dental hygienists' according to clinical career. The results of this study were as follows. 1. The longer clinical career the dental hygienists had, the more they thought that they had aptitude as a dental hygienist (p<0.05). 2. The dental hygienists' turnover intention was different according to clinical career (p<0.01). 3. The longer clinical career the dental hygienists had, the more satisfied they were when they were working at a dental hospital or clinic equipped with convenience facilities (change room, lounge, etc.) (p<0.01). 4. The longer clinical career the dental hygienists had, the more power to make decisions they had and the more acknowledgement and trust they received from dentists (p<0.01). 5. Satisfaction with duty coordination was low in general, but it grew higher with increase in clinical career (p<0.01). 6. The longer clinical career the dental hygienists had, the more satisfied they were with patients' appreciation of their treatment (p<0.01). In addition, their time and opportunities to discuss with dentists were different according to clinical career, and their satisfaction with the items was higher when their clinical career was long (p<0.01). 7. As to their perception of dental hygienists' potential for development, they generally believed that they had potential for future growth with the expansion of their work scope (M=3.73). The longer clinical career the dental hygienists had, the more satisfied the more power to make decisions they had and the more acknowledgement and trust they received from dentists and their time and opportunities to discuss with dentists when they were working at a dental hospital or clinic equipped with convenience facilities (change room, lounge, etc.). The longer clinical career the dental hygienists had, the more they thought that they had aptitude as a dental hygienist. In conclusion, the longer clinical dental hygienists' Career had, satisfaction was able to take a highness to a dental hygienist occupation.

Evaluation of subjective satisfaction of dental implant patients

  • Objectives: The goal of this study was to estimate the overall satisfaction level of dental implant patients and further evaluate factors influencing satisfaction. Materials and Methods: Self-administered questionnaires were mailed to patients who received dental implant therapy at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (Seongnam, Korea) from October 2003 to April 2005. The main portion of the questionnaire was shared to evaluate the level of satisfaction with implant therapy. The questionnaires contained evaluations of influencing factors, which were classified as pain-related, service-related, and complication-related. Results: The responses from 93 patients (41 males, 52 females) with a total of 325 implants were included in the analysis, and the mean score for overall satisfaction level with implant therapy was 8.26. Female patients showed higher visual analogue scale (VAS) scores for both pain during (P=0.000) and after implant surgery (P=0.016). Male patients showed more 'negative' values for the reasonability of treatment cost (P=0.008) and the adequacy of the treatment period (P=0.022). Conclusion: The subjective satisfaction of patients was influenced by various factors, especially complication-related factors.

Education satisfaction and self-assessment of competency among new general dentists in Korea

  • Dental education is gradually transitioning to competency-based education system, which aims to help dentists achieve certain core competencies by means of various systems, such as curriculum accreditation. This study examined satisfaction with dental school education and the differences in the perceived importance and self-assessment of competencies among general dentists, in an attempt to propose a desirable direction for dental education. A questionnaire was administered to new general dentists who graduated from a dental school within the past 10 years. The results of the survey were analyzed using the Importance-Performance Analysis to understand differences in dentists' perceptions. Overall satisfaction with education was low in terms of the curriculum's relevance to actual practice and its capacity for cultivating required competencies. Furthermore, many of the respondents strongly perceived the need to improve dental education. Additional investigations into the satisfaction with education showed no difference. Among the seven key competency domains, dentists perceived Health Promotion to be important and also assessed themselves as having high competence. However, regarding the perceived importance of the remaining domains, self-assessment of competence was low for Professionalism, Communication & Interpersonal Skills, Knowledge Base, Information Handling & Critical Thinking, Clinical Information Gathering, Diagnosis & Treatment Planning, and Establishment & Maintenance of Oral Health. The results of this study suggest that a competency-based education model should be developed and incorporated into dental education to set performance standards and to promote systematic self-assessment in order to foster the development of competence in dental students.
