  • There are frequent cases of retreatment due to lack of communication between dentists and dental technicians during general prosthetic treatment. The success of large-scale therapy begins with small treatments. This report reminds you of the importance of communication through a simple example. To reproduce better colors and shapes, the dentist must provide specific and accurate information and feedback to the dental technician, and the dental technician must have the skills to accurately analyze and express it. In this process, we need to create an environment where we can exchange mutual opinion and produce better prostheses.

  • This case study is aimed at introducing a full-mouth rehabilitation of a patient with severe tooth wear using fixed prosthesis. This is a case report of a patient with severe wear dentition with changing vertical dimension. In line with using prosthetic treatment, patient adaptation was verified with provisional restorations followed by diagnostic wax-up. Function, esthetics, and occlusal stability were verified during a 4-week follow up period. Prosthodontic reconstruction based on systemic analysis, diagnosis, and treatment plan led to satisfactory results after delivery of definitive prosthesis. Prosthetic treatment of severe wear dentition was functionally and esthetically successful. Dentists and dental technicians would be able to develop better treatment approaches using fixed dental prosthesis.

  • This study aims to describe the clinical experience of single and bridge crowns fabricated using a cementless screw-retained implant prosthesis system. In the case of single crown (#37), regular link (HDL) was used, and bridge crowns (#15~#24), (#26~#27), (#17~#14) (#24~#26) were fabricated by selecting regular link and short link considering the vertical height. One abutment was hex shaped to ensure that it could be mounted while preventing insertion and prosthesis rotation. The advantages of cementless implant prosthesis include shorter chair time and periodic care, strong retention with LINK abutment, safety from inflammation, bacterial infection, and complications due to peri-implant cement, and high patient satisfaction. Dentists should double-check the position of the implant fixture and dental technicians should continuously manage the fit of the link and prosthesis with digital equipment to reduce screw loosening and fractures.

  • This study is to seek a method to alleviate fear of dental treatment among college students. Research objects are students in public health department and those in other departments on. B University located in area A from April 5, 2017 to April 12, 2017. They were provided with education, and given two surveys before and after the education. The survey data were analyzed with the SPSS 19.0 program using T-test. The findings of the analysis are as follows. After the education, fear of dental treatment was reduced more among students in the public Health Department than among those in other departments. After education on dental treatment, there were greater changes in oral health among students in non-public health departments than those in the Public Health Department. There were grater changes in oral health among students in the Public Health Department than those in other departments. It is necessary to cultivate dental technicians through efficient and professional education, and those dental technicians should serve to reduce fear of dental care among the people, and change consciousness on such treatments. Accordingly, it is necessary to develop efficient education programs to reduce fear and increase the consciousness of dental health among people, and make people not afraid of coming to dental clinic.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to enhance curriculum satisfaction of dental laboratory technology and curriculum demands. Methods: From March 5 to March 31, 2019, a self-written questionnaire was conducted for 195 students from the department of dental laboratory technology at a university in Gangwon-do. The analytical methods used were descriptive statistical analysis, frequency analysis, cross analysis, correlation analysis and reliability analysis. The collected data was used for SPSS 18.0 for Windows statistics program. Results: The demand of the school education includes systematic experiments and demand of practical training, acquisition of professional knowledge, introduction of advanced technology curriculum, reduction of national examination-oriented curriculum, and increased professionalism and professionalism as professional professionals. Investigated by the ethics. In addition, they were strongly aware of the necessity of digital education related to CAD / CAM, and there was a high demand for how to operate programs, scanning and design. Conclusion: The curriculum needs to be reorganized to cultivate dental technicians in a changing era, and in-depth centralized curriculum in fields with high practical needs, as well as vocational and ethical views as professionals.

  • This study is for the purpose of studying the validity of the construction of items and grading of the evaluation table at clinical practice used as the method of evaluation when clinical practice of Dept. of Dental Technology. 205 dental technicians in 4 cities were questioned to analyze the relation between items of the evaluation table at clinical practice and its grading. The collected materials were inspected by SAS V8 for Windows. The results are as follows: 1. Making up all the items and grading seem to be appropriate because they had the marks more than midium(more than 3.28). 2. Making up detailed items and grading seem to be trusted because they had the marks more than 3.30. 3.The significance level of the relation between items of the evaluation at clinical practice and its grading by t-inspection is p<0.0001 and so it appears to be meaningful. 4. It proved to be meaningful in result of regression analysis of the influence on the construction of the evaluation at clinical practice and its grading. With this result, further study is needed for the better methods of the evaluation in its adjustment and graduated grading among the items.

  • Traditionally, tooth restoration has been carried out by replicating teeth using plaster-based materials. However, recent technological advances have simplified the production process through the introduction of computer-aided design(CAD) systems. Nevertheless, dental restoration varies among individuals, and the skill level of dental technicians significantly influences the accuracy of the manufacturing process. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an approach to designing personalized tooth restorations using Generative Adversarial Network(GAN), a widely adopted technique in computer vision. The primary objective of this model is to create customized dental prosthesis for each patient by utilizing 3D data of the specific teeth to be treated and their corresponding opposite tooth. To achieve this, the 3D dental data is converted into a depth map format and used as input data for the GAN model. The proposed model leverages the network architecture of Pixel2Style2Pixel, which has demonstrated superior performance compared to existing models for image conversion and dental prosthesis generation. Furthermore, this approach holds promising potential for future advancements in dental and implant production.
