  • This paper is about wine quality classification with multilayer perceptron using the deep neural network. Wine complexity is an issue when predicting the quality. And the deep neural network is considered when using complex dataset. Wine Producers always aim high to get the highest possible quality. They are working on how to achieve the best results with minimum cost and efforts. Deep learning is the possible solution for them. It can help them to understand the pattern and predictions. Although there have been past researchers, which shows how artificial neural network or data mining can be used with different techniques, in this paper, rather not focusing on various techniques, we evaluate how a deep learning model predicts for the quality using two different activation functions. It will help wine producers to decide, how to lead their business with deep learning. Prediction performance could change tremendously with different models and techniques used. There are many factors, which, impact the quality of the wine. Therefore, it is a good idea to use best features for prediction. However, it could also be a good idea to test this dataset without separating these features. It means we use all features so that the system can consider all the feature. In the experiment, due to the limited data set and limited features provided, it was not possible for a system to choose the effective features.

  • Detecting fraudulent insurance claims is difficult due to small and unbalanced data. Some research has been carried out to better cope with various types of fraudulent claims. Nowadays, technology for detecting fraudulent insurance claims has been increasingly utilized in insurance and technology fields, thanks to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) methods in addition to traditional statistical detection and rule-based methods. This study obtained meaningful results for a fraudulent insurance claim detection model based on machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) technologies, using fraudulent insurance claim data from previous research. In our search for a method to enhance the detection of fraudulent insurance claims, we investigated the reinforcement learning (RL) method. We examined how we could apply the RL method to the detection of fraudulent insurance claims. There are limited previous cases of applying the RL method. Thus, we first had to define the RL essential elements based on previous research on detecting anomalies. We applied the deep Q-network (DQN) and double deep Q-network (DDQN) in the learning fraudulent insurance claim detection model. By doing so, we confirmed that our model demonstrated better performance than previous machine learning models.

  • With the development of transportation and mobiles demand for tourism travel is increasing and related industries are also developing significantly. The combination of augmented reality and tourism contents one of the areas of digital media technology, is also actively being studied, and artificial intelligence is already combined with the tourism industry in various directions, enriching tourists' travel experiences. In this paper, we propose a system that scans miniature models produced by reducing tourist areas, finds the relevant tourist sites based on models learned using deep learning in advance, and provides relevant information and 3D models as AR services. Because model learning and object detection are carried out using YOLOv3 neural networks, one of various deep learning neural networks, object detection can be performed at a fast rate to provide real-time service.

  • Numerical weather prediction (NWP) models play an essential role in predicting weather factors, but using them is challenging due to various factors. To overcome the difficulties of NWP models, deep learning models have been deployed in weather forecasting by several recent studies. This study adapts long short-term memory (LSTM), which demonstrates remarkable performance in time-series prediction. The combination of LSTM model input of meteorological features and activation functions have a significant impact on the performance therefore, the results from 5 combinations of input features and 4 activation functions are analyzed in 9 Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) stations corresponding to cities/islands/mountains. The optimized LSTM model produces better performance within eight forecast hours than Local Data Assimilation and Prediction System (LDAPS) operated by Korean meteorological administration. Therefore, this study illustrates that this LSTM model can be usefully applied to very short-term weather forecasting, and further studies about CNN-LSTM model with 2-D spatial convolution neural network (CNN) coupled in LSTM are required for improvement.

  • We evaluated the applicability of machine learning techniques and the Kuz-Ram model for predicting the mean fragmentation size in open-pit mines. The characteristics of the in-situ rock considered here were uniaxial compressive strength, tensile strength, rock factor, and mean in-situ block size. Seventy field datasets that included these characteristics were collected to predict the mean fragmentation size. Deep neural network, support vector machine, and extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) models were trained using the data. The performance was evaluated using the root mean squared error (RMSE) and the coefficient of determination (r2). The XGBoost model had the smallest RMSE and the highest r2 value compared with the other models. Additionally, when analyzing the error rate between the measured and predicted values, XGBoost had the lowest error rate. When the Kuz-Ram model was applied, low accuracy was observed owing to the differences in the characteristics of data used for model development. Consequently, the proposed XGBoost model predicted the mean fragmentation size more accurately than other models. If its performance is improved by securing sufficient data in the future, it will be useful for improving the blasting efficiency at the target site.

  • Recently, research to classify human activity using imagery has been actively conducted for the purpose of crime prevention and facility safety in public places and facilities. In order to improve the performance of human activity classification, most studies have applied deep learning based-transfer learning. However, despite the increase in the number of backbone network models that are the basis of deep learning as well as the diversification of architectures, research on finding a backbone network model suitable for the purpose of operation is insufficient due to the atmosphere of using a certain model. Thus, this study applies the transfer learning into recently developed deep learning backborn network models to build an intelligent system that classifies human activity using imagery. For this, 12 types of active and high-contact human activities based on sports, not basic human behaviors, were determined and 7,200 images were collected. After 20 epochs of transfer learning were equally applied to five backbone network models, we quantitatively analyzed them to find the best backbone network model for human activity classification in terms of learning process and resultant performance. As a result, XceptionNet model demonstrated 0.99 and 0.91 in training and validation accuracy, 0.96 and 0.91 in Top 2 accuracy and average precision, 1,566 sec in train process time and 260.4MB in model memory size. It was confirmed that the performance of XceptionNet was higher than that of other models.

  • AI technology has developed in the form of decision support technology in law, patent, finance and national defense and is applied to disease diagnosis and legal judgment. To search real-time information with Deep Learning, Big data Analysis and Deep Learning Algorithm are required. In this paper, we try to predict the entrance rate to high-ranking universities using a Deep Learning model, RNN(Recurrent Neural Network). First, we analyzed the current status of private academies in administrative districts and the number of students by age in administrative districts, and established a socially accepted hypothesis that students residing in areas with a high educational fever have a high rate of enrollment in high-ranking universities. This is to verify based on the data analyzed using the predicted hypothesis and the government's public data. The predictive model uses data from 2015 to 2017 to learn to predict the top enrollment rate, and the trained model predicts the top enrollment rate in 2018. A prediction experiment was performed using RNN, a Deep Learning model, for the high-ranking enrollment rate in the special education zone. In this paper, we define the correlation between the high-ranking enrollment rate by analyzing the household income and the participation rate of private education about the current status of private institutes in regions with high education fever and the effect on the number of students by age.

  • This study proposes the classification model of Minhwa genre based on object detection of deep learning. To detect unique Korean traditional objects in Minhwa, we construct custom datasets by labeling images using object keywords in Minhwa DB. We train YOLOv5 models with custom datasets, and classify images using predicted object labels result, the output of model training. The algorithm consists of two classification steps: 1) according to the painting technique and 2) genre of Minhwa. Through classifying paintings using this algorithm on the Internet, it is expected that the correct information of Minhwa can be built and provided to users forward.
