RFID systems large volume of data, it can lead to slower queries. To achieve better query performance, we can partition into active and some nonactive data. In this paper, we propose two approaches of partitioning for efficient query support. The one is average period plus delta partition and the other is adaptive average period partition. We also present the system architecture to manage active data and non-active data and logical database schema. The data manager check the active partition and move all objects from the active store to an archive store associated with an average period plus data and an adaptive average period. Our experiments show the performance of our partitioning methods.

Information Systems (IS) auditing has been know to be helpful in developing optimal IS and managing information resources successfully. The public sector of Korea has witnessed the rapidly growing demand for IS auditing. However, there is a dearth of research that evaluate the effects of IS auditing. This study assesses the impacts of IS auditing based on a process perspective. In order to evaluate the effects objectively and properly, the current study collected empirical data from 58 firms. This stuuy confirmed that IS auditing was a very effective tool for successful IS implementation. The results show that IS auditing improves “project management”, “support”, and “engineering” practices while it does not make any impact on “contract” practice. In general, IS auditing has a tremendous impact on facilitating organization’quality improvement efforts.

This paper considers the nature of a digital library in terms of definitions and its technical environment It also explores some of the problems and issues involved in demanding and supplying information So current publishing systems and the library resources were investigated. The relative advantages of both electronic and paper journals are also briefly considered and it is suggested that research relating to build the full text database is required. Finally it considers the innovative management technology such as TQM, Business Process Reengineering to innovative library itself.

기존의 가상현실(Virtual Reality) 시스템들은 가상세계 (Virtual World)에 관한 데이타를 대부분 파일의 형태로 관리하고 있다. 가상현실에 대한 연구가 진전되어 공유가상세계(Shared Virtual World)를 기반으로 하는 대규모 응용분야가 나타나면서, 데이타의 효율적 관리와 공유를 위한 상위 레벨의 데이타 관리층이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 가상세계 데이타의 관리를 위한 객체지향 DBMS(Database Management System)[1]의 사용을 제안한다. 그리고 데이터베이스에 저장된 지속객체 (Persistent Object)[2]를 공유하는 가상현실 응용시 스템의 구조를 연구한다.

Reports have a significant meaning in time-constrained large transaction environments, such as airplane control systems or wargame simulations. This is due to the necessity of generating reports within a limited scope of time without restraining the operation performance of large transaction environments. In order to generate reports in large transaction environments while satisfying time - constrained requirements, this paper propose a model which combines the incremental operation mechanism and materialized view mechanism using triggers and stored procedures. Further, the implementation and evaluation of the preposed model provides analysis for model characteristics.

Traditional syntax-oriented serializability notions are considered to be not enough to handle in particular various types of transaction in terms of duration of execution. To deal with this situation, altruistic locking has attempted to reduce delay effect associated with lock release moment by use of the idea of donation. An improved form of altruism has also been deployed in extended altruistic locking in a way that scope of data to be early released is enlarged to include even data initially not intended to be donated. In this paper, we first of all investigated limitations inherent in both altruistic schemes from the perspective of alleviating starvation occasions for transactions in particular of short-lived nature. The idea of two-way donation locking(2DL) has then been experimented to see the effect of more than single donation in distributed database systems. Simulation experiments shows that 2DL outperforms the conventional two-phase locking in terms of the degree of oncurrency and average transaction waiting time.

In general, FORTRAN is used for numerical analysis and OPS5 or LISP is used for expert systems, This causes problems at the interface because the various applications require different computing languages or environments. This paper describes the approach used to take AutoCAD as a user-interface for an existing finite element structural analysis package. Some principles concerning database management related to data-exchange interface of pre- and post-processing system for FORTRAN structural analysis program are discussed, and numerical examples demonstrate the power of the combination of these programs.

Engineered barrier test facility is specially designed to demonstrate the performance of engineered barrier system for the near-surface disposal facility under the domestic environmental conditions. Comprehensive measurement systems for the water content, temperature, matric potential are installed within each test cell. In this study, short-term monitoring of the behavior of multi-layered cover system is implemented with artificial rainfall system. The periodic measurement data are collected and analyzed by a dedicated database management system, and provide a basis for performance verification of the disposal cover design.

In this work, we have developed the off-line diagnostic system for power cable insulation using DC voltage decay method to diagnose the insulation degradation of underground power cables. Measurement errors of diagnostic system are less than 1% for $1T{\Omega}$ internal resistor. We have also developed measurement and diagnostic programs for win95 which is suitable for the database construction and the management of data. We could conclude that it is possible to apply this system to the multi-grounded underground cable systems.

Much attention has been paid recently to environmental destruction by golf course constructions in Koera. An efficiency and up-to-date technology on the planning and design practices has been requested to minimize the environmental impacts. Computerized systems for golf course design in the point of physical conservation of environment were discussed here. Geograpic Information System were applied on the process of geograpical data input and analysis through the final outputs, Simulation works by the total database management make enable to pre-investigate of the design in view of an assessment of environment impacts. It is also possible to evaluate plans easily and propose the alternatives properly. Precise quantity caculation of en-gineering works by computer system should be guarantee scientific, economic, and environme-ntally sound golf course design.
