  • As a method of obtaining pulse transfer function. transfer function of discrete-time from input-output data, there are method of obtaining unknown parameter of pulse transfer function from estimated impulse response before(1-3). There is no need to approximate to several meanings because of not being established algebraical relations between impulse response for estimation error and parameter of transfer function exactly. In this paper, I inquire the method[4] of obtaining the optimal pulse transfer function as a meaning of Hankel norm approximation from impulse response data and examine estimated property as computer simulation from this method.

  • In this paper, we have presented a real-time transfer mechanism for the delay-sensitive data in WSNs (Wireless Sensor Networks). The existing methods for real-time data transfer select a path whose latency is shortest or the number of hops is least. Although the approaches of these methods are acceptable, they do not always work as efficiently as they can because they had no consideration for the link error rates. In the case of transmission failures on links, they can not guarantee the end-to-end real-time transfer due to retransmissions. Therefore, we have proposed an algorithm to select a real-time transfer path in consideration of the link error rates. Our mechanism estimates the 1-hop delay based on the link error rate between two neighboring nodes, which in turn enables the calculation of the expected end-to-end delay. A source node comes to choose a path with the shortest end-to-end delay as a real-time route, and sends data along the path chosen. We performed various experiments changing the link error rates and discovered that this proposed mechanism improves the speed of event-to-sink data transfer and reduces delay jitter. We also found that this mechanism prevents additional energy consumption and prolongs network lifetime, resulting from the elative reduction of transmission failures and retransmissions.

  • When the PCI 2.2 bus master requests data using Memory Read command, the target device my hold PCI bus without data transfer for a long time because the target device requires time to prefetch data internally. Because the PCI bus usage efficiency and the data transfer efficiency are decreased due to this situation, the PCI specification recommends to use the Delayed Transaction mechanism to improve the performance. But the mechanism doesn't fully improve performance because the target device doesn't blow prefetch data size exactly. In this paper, we propose a new method to transfer data efficiently when the bus master reads data from the target device. The bus master informs the target device the exact read data size using prefetch request using Memory Write command. The simulation result shows that the proposed method has the higher data transfer efficiency than the Delayed Transaction about 10%.

  • Most studies on regional economic impact have utilized employment or employment income data. Recently, a few scholars have noticed the importance of nonemployment income sources in urban economies. Using decennial census data on Arizona towns from 1970 to 1990, this paper first examines the increasing importance of nonempolyment income sources in urban economies and the associations of nonemployment income sources with elderly population and metropolitan location. Then, this paper investigates the impact of nonemployment income on urban growth in the framework of economic base model. The regression results show that the impact of nonemployment income is significant in the increase of nonbasic income and becomes greater over time, and that the impact of transfer over time, and that the impact of transfer income on nonbasic income of transfer income on nonbasic income is stronger in smaller towns and the impact of investment income is stronger in larger towns.

  • A single blow, transient testing method for determining the heat transfer characteristics of heat exchanger surfaces are presented. The exponential inlet temperature variations were made using screen mesh with small time constant and frontal velocities of the test section. The system is used to investigate the usefulness of a model with exponential inlet temperature variations. A data reduction program is developed to calculate the temporally and spatially averaged heat transfer coefficient using the measured disturbance and response of the fluid temperature. The results are compared with the existing theoretical and experimental data for parallel plate stacks. It was recommended to take an average for the time greater than the 99% of the final temperature had reached in order to obtain fairly good results.

  • An improved transfer alignment method for a strap-down inertial navigation system (SDINS) is presented here. The alignment accuracy in conventional method is vulnerable to the data latency of a Master INS (MINS) in high maneuverable platforms. We propose a time delay compensation equation considering higher-order terms in the attitude measurement equation of the Kalman filter. The equation incorporates additional information including angular rate, angular acceleration and linear acceleration from the MINS. Simulation results show that the transfer alignment accuracy is significantly improved in the high dynamic environment by incorporating the latency compensation technique.

  • The oxygen transfer rate is a parameter that characterizes the gas-liquid mass transfer in surface aerators. Gas-liquid transfer mechanisms in surface aeration tanks depend on two different extreme lengths of time; namely, macromixing and micromixing. Small scale mixing close to the molecular level is referred to as micromixing; whereas, macromixing refers to mixing on a large scale. Using experimental data and numerical simulations, macro- and micro-scale parameters describing the two extreme time scales were investigated. A scale up equation to simulate the oxygen transfer rate with micromixing times was developed in geometrically similar baffled surface aerators.

  • Energy transfer dynamics of excited vibrational energy of OH stretching bonds in liquid water is theoretically studied. With time-dependent vibrational Hamiltonian obtained from a mixed quantum/classical calculation, we construct a master equation describing the energy transfer dynamics. Survival probability predicted by the master equation is compared with numerically exact one and we found that incoherent picture of energy transfer is reasonably valid for long-time population dynamics. Within the incoherent picture, we assess the validity of independent pair approximation (IPA) often introduced in the theoretical models utilized in the analysis of experimental data. Our results support that the IPA is almost perfectly valid as applied for the vibrational energy transfer in liquid water. However, proper incorporation of radial and orientational correlations between two OH bonds is found to be critical for a theory to be quantitatively valid. Consequently, it is suggested that the Forster model should be generalized by including the effects of the pair correlations in order to be applied for vibrational energy transfer in liquid water.

  • As a result of the transfer function analysis on the casual relationship between Andong Dam water level and fog time in Andong City from March of 1981 to December of 1992, it should be referring to monthly increases in the water level having an effect on 0.89 hour per m increases in the fog time with 4 months delay. It is evident, hence, the artificial lake of the dam is one of the direct causes of fog. Based upon this objective evidence, water resources development policy and dam managment policy must be formulated.

  • There are many kinds of predominant modes to transfer Multimedia information on internet in the world. Various methods are applied to get real time multimedia data as possible as we need. At the moment it is very difficult to use acceptable technologies for performe those methods effectively on the Networks. This paper gives the alternative directions and trends for research and development of multimedia transmission on the internet. ATM is one of the best mode to transfer mass-multimedia data at the high speed on the Broad-Band ISDN until now. And xDSL (xDigital Subscriber Line) is an excellent typical method on the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) using old type telephone line. But they are not yet applied into the phase of practical use together this time. So this paper analyzes what we need and how to develop the multimedia transmission modes which we can send on the internet without a problem or any difficulty for our various multimedia information all the time under low cost and high speed.
