계수(計數) 추적작업시(追跡作業時) 표시장치(表示裝置)가 수행도(遂行度)에 미치는 영향(影響)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Effect of Displays for the Performance in Digital Tracking Task)

  • An experimental study was made to compare digital display with analogue-digital display during a digital pursuit tracking task under the preview information. The effect of preview on performance during the tracking task was analyzed for the different preview spans and the different characteristics of the information input. The data from ten subjects revealed that the RMS error performance was improved substantially in the case of one preview point than in that of no preview. It was obtained from the result of the experiments that the improvement ratio of analogue digital to digital display increased to 48%.

능동 카메라 기반의 물체 추적 제어기 설계 (Controller Design for Object Tracking with an Active Camera)

  • In the case of the tracking system with an active camera, it is very difficult to guarantee real-time processing due to the attribute of vision system which handles large amounts of data at once and has time delay to process. The reliability of the processed result is also badly influenced by the slow sampling time and uncertainty caused by the image processing. In this paper, we figure out dynamic characteristics of pixels reflected on the image plane and derive the mathematical model of the vision tracking system which includes the actuating part and the image processing part. Based on this model, we find a controller that stabilizes the system and enhances the tracking performance to track a target rapidly. The centroid is used as the position index of moving object and the DC motor in the actuating part is controlled to keep the identified centroid at the center point of the image plane.

  • In this letter, we propose a dual autostereoscopic display platform employing a natural interaction method, which will be useful for sharing visual data with users. To provide 3D visualization of a model to users who collaborate with each other, a beamsplitter is used with a pair of autostereoscopic displays, providing a visual illusion of a floating 3D image. To interact with the virtual object, we track the user's hands with a depth camera. The gesture recognition technique we use operates without any initialization process, such as specific poses or gestures, and supports several commands to control virtual objects by gesture recognition. Experiment results show that our system performs well in visualizing 3D models in real-time and handling them under unconstrained conditions, such as complicated backgrounds or a user wearing short sleeves.

  • In this paper, a remote screen control by mobile networks on embedded system is implemented. For this system a server program is ported on the embedded system connected with internet. And on the side of a mobile phone, a client program is ported using GVM. The embedded system can display the text from the mobile phone on its LCD. In the implemented embedded system, the text data from GVM emulator is sent to the system for display on its LCD. The realization of the proposed embedded system can display the text from a working mobile phone.

  • A new voltage-scaled compensation pixel which employs 3 p-type poly-Si TFTs and 2 capacitors without additional control line has been proposed and verified. The proposed pixel does not employ the $V_{TH}$ memorizing and cancellation, but scales down the inevitable $V_{TH}$ variation of poly-Si TFT. Also the troublesome narrow input range of $V_{DATA}$ is increased and the $V_{DD}$ supply voltage drop is suppressed. In our experimental results, the OLED current error is successfully compensated by easily controlling the proposed voltage scaling effects.

  • In this paper, we have developed a new Force-Display system using tendon-driven method based multiple DC motors. The proposed system is based on the HIR Lab Haptic library, which calculates the real position and renders the reflecting force data to device rapidly. The system is composed of device based tendon- driving method, high-speed controller and Haptic rendering library. The developed system will be used on constructing the dynamical virtual environment. To show the efficiency of our system, we designed simulation program, which an display the moving force (attaching, grabbing, rotating) on two virtual points. As the result of the experiment, our proposed system shows much higher resolution than any others.

  • This paper is about the method by which Power Control Unit(PCU) of Control Rod Control System(CRCS) logs events in the system and the real-time monitoring display. This method enables the functions like the event logging of Control Rod Drive Mechanism(CRDM)/power Cabinet, the off-line show of the event data logged and the on-line show by communication between the PCU and the monitoring display. Operators in a nuclear power plant must be able to grasp any possible abnormal states correctly. Because our newly designed system has a good ability to log and display the kinds, tine, and the prior and posterior states of urgent or non-urgent events, the operators can judge, maintain and repair the abnormal event more easily.

  • In this paper, we proposed a software framework structure to apply ORB-SLAM, the most representative of SLAM algorithms, so that map creation and location estimation technology can be applied through tethered AR glasses. Since tethered AR glasses perform only the role of an input/output device, the processing of camera and sensor data and the generation of images to be displayed through the optical display module must be performed through the host. At this time, an Android-based mobile device is adopted as the host. Therefore, the major libraries required for the implementation of AR contents for AR glasses were hierarchically organized, and spatial recognition and location estimation functions using SLAM were verified.

온라인 사이트 상품 배치에 따른 시각정보처리가 소비자 주의에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Visual Information Processing of Online Product Display on Consumers' Attention)

  • Companies display the product information to the consumers in their online presences. As importance of online marketing activities are growing, most of the franchisers also uses the product images on their online sites to provide the vivid visual information of their merchandises. But the previous researches do not provide the rigorous understanding on the nature of how the consumers process the visual information. In this study, we explore the theoretical backgrounds of the visual information processing and set up the research proposition on the orders and directions of the online visitors' attentions. The visit data from experimental online shop for 81 days was analysed with repeated measure ANOVA. We found that the nature of visual information processing in the online environment is different from that of the ordinary text process. At the end of this study, implication and the limitations of the research were discussed.

Particle Swarm Optimization based Haptic Localization of Plates with Electrostatic Vibration Actuators

  • Haptic actuators for large display panels play an important role in bridging the gap between the digital and physical world by generating interactive feedback for users. However, the generation of meaningful haptic feedback is challenging for large display panels. There are dead zones with low haptic sensations when a small number of actuators are applied. In contrast, it is important to control the traveling wave generated by the actuators in the presence of multiple actuators. In this study, we propose a particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based algorithm for the haptic localization of plates with electrostatic vibration actuators. We modeled the transverse displacement of a plate under the effect of actuators by employing the Kirchhoff-Love plate theory. In addition, starting with twenty randomly generated particles containing the actuator parameters, we searched for the optimal actuator parameters using a stochastic process to yield localization. The capability of the proposed PSO algorithm is reported and the transverse displacement has a high magnitude only in the targeted region.
