Demand response (DR) programs give opportunity to consumers to manage their electricity bills. Besides, distribution system operator (DSO) is interested in using DR programs to obtain technical and economic benefits for distribution network. Since small consumers have difficulties to individually take part in the electricity market, an entity named demand response provider (DRP) has been recently defined to aggregate the DR of small consumers. However, implementing DR programs face challenges to fairly allocate benefits and payments between DRP and DSO. This paper presents a procedure for modeling the interaction between DRP and DSO based on a bilevel programming model. Both DSO and DRP behave from their own viewpoint with different objective functions. On the one hand, DRP bids the potential of DR programs, which are load shifting and load curtailment, to maximize its expected profit and on the other hand, DSO purchases electric power from either the electricity market or DRP to supply its consumers by minimizing its overall cost. In the proposed bilevel programming approach, the upper level problem represents the DRP decisions, while the lower level problem represents the DSO behavior. The obtained bilevel programming problem (BPP) is converted into a single level optimizing problem using its Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) optimality conditions. Furthermore, point estimate method (PEM) is employed to model the uncertainties of the power demands and the electricity market prices. The efficiency of the presented model is verified through the case studies and analysis of the obtained results.
There are very few reports of the restoration of tooth loss using dental implants in patients with diffuse sclerosing osteomyelitis (DSO). Because the patients with DSO have unfavorable bone quality for osseointegration of dental implants, additional considerations such as surgical trauma, infection control, and an extended healing period are essential when placing dental implants. The purpose of this study is to report on the success of osseointegration of a dental implant in the patient with DSO.
The government has proposed a mission to enhance intelligent power networks, decrease coal-fired generation, expand distributed energy resources, and promote energy prosumer into the distribution network in Korea. Installation cost of facility expansion to guaranteed interconnection with small distributed energy resources increases dramatically on KEPCO's distribution sector. And it is hard to withdraw in time. In addition, there are explicit research is required to meet the reliability on grid corresponding to the increase of distributed power. Infrastructure support for accommodating energy prosumer is also needed. Therefore, KEPCO is pushing transition to DSO by expanding distribution management scope and changing its roles. In addition, KEPCO is proactively preparing for integrated operation between distribution network and existing distributed power which is accommodated passively. KEPCO is also trying to accept multiple network users, e.g. building platforms, to manage a data and promote new markets. In the long term, transition to DSO will achieve saving investment costs for accommodating distributed sources and maintaining stable electrical quality. And it will be possible to create new business model using the platform to secure revenue.

One of the important topics concerning the safety of electrical and electronic system is the reliability of the wiring system. The Time-Frequency Domain Reflectometry(TFDR) is a state-of-the-art system for detection and estimation of the fault on a wiring/cable. The purpose of this paper is to implement a Labview based TFDR Real Time system though the instruments of PCI extensions for Instrumentation(PXI). The TFDR Real Time system consists of the five parts: Reference signal design, signal generation, signal acquisition, algorithm execution, results diplay part. In the signal generation and acquisition parts we adopt the Arbitrary Waveform Generator(AWG) and Digital Storage Oscilloscope(DSO) PXI modules which offer commonality, compatibility and easy integration at low cost. And execution of the PXI modules not only is controlled by the Labview programing but also the total system process is executed by the Labview application software.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the replacement of degummed soybean oil (DSO) by acid soybean oil (ASO) in diets with or without the inclusion of emulsifier on broiler performance, relative organ weight, lipase activity, intestinal morphometry, and nutrient digestibility. Methods: A total of 704 1-day-old male broiler chicks were allotted to a 2×2 completely randomized factorial design (with or without emulsifier × two lipid sources [ASO and DSO]), with eight replicates and 22 birds each. The metabolizable energy level in diets with emulsifier was reduced by 40 kcal/kg from 1 to 21 d and 50 kcal/kg from 22 to 49 d. Results: Broilers fed diets containing ASO without emulsifier had higher (p = 0.005) weight gain than DSO-fed animals and with the inclusion of emulsifier had worse (p = 0.018) feed conversion ratio (FCR). Birds fed diets with emulsifier worsened FCR regardless of lipid source from 1 to 21 days (p = 0.006) and from 1 to 49 days (p = 0.0002). There was an increase (p = 0.026) in the relative pancreas weight, at 14 days, in birds fed diets containing ASO. Lipase activity and morphometry of the duodenum and jejunum, at 14 and 21 days, were not affected (p>0.05). The dietary inclusion of emulsifier improved the digestible energy (p = 0.053) in the presence of ASO. For the digestibility coefficients (gross energy, crude protein, and mineral matter), no interference was observed (p>0.05). Conclusion: The inclusion of emulsifier to energy-restricted diet with ASO maintained broiler performance in the first week, but worsened FCR in subsequent phases. The ASO can be considered as an alternative lipid source to DSO and does not interfere with the morphophysiological characteristics and performance of broilers. The combination of ASO and emulsifier increased the digestible energy content by 6.2%.

The paper describes the development of a decomposition based multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) method that coordinates each of disciplinary subspace optimization (DSO). A multidisciplinary design system considered in the present study is decomposed into a number of subspaces based on their own design objective and constraints associated with engineering discipline. The coupled relations among subspaces are identified by interdisciplinary design variables. Each of subsystem level optimization, that is DSO would be performed in parallel, and the system level coordination is determined by the first order optimal sensitivities of subspace objective functions with respect to interdisciplinary design variables. The central of the present work resides on the formulation of system level coordination strategy and its capability in decomposition based MDO. A fluid-structure coupled design problem is explored as a test-bed to support the proposed MDO method.

This study examines the influence of working capital management (WCM) factors on the profitability of steel companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Vietnam. Data was collected from audited financial statements of companies for a period of 10 years, from 2010 to 2019. The number of samples eligible for research is 20 out of 26 companies, which is equivalent to 76.9%. With the help of dedicated software Stata version 14, the impact determination of WCM (through 8 independent variables: DIO, DPO, DSO, CCC, SIZ, CR, LEV, GRO) to the firm's profitability (through the dependent variable) is performed through multivariate regression models. Research results from companies in the steel industry in Vietnam during this period indicate that WCM has a strong impact on the profitability of businesses. Among 8 factors affecting the profitability of steel enterprises, factors DPO, DIO, DSO, CR, SIZ, GRO have a positive impact, boosting profitability; 2 factors CCC and LEV have a negative impact on profitability; in which, the effect of CCC is negligible. This conclusion is almost in contrast to many previously published studies due to the specifics of the industry as well as the different stages of economic development associated with the economic management policies of the State.
In the design of flight control systems there are issues that deserve special consideration and attention such as external perturbations or systems failures. A Simple Adaptive Controller (SAC) that does not require a-priori knowledge of the faults is proposed in this paper with the aim of realizing a fault tolerant flight control system capable of leading the pitch motion of an aircraft. The main condition for obtaining a stable adaptive controller is the passivity of the plant; however, since real systems generally do not satisfy such requirement, a properly defined Parallel Feedforward Compensator (PFC) is used to let the augmented system meet the passivity condition. The design approach used in this paper to synthesize the PFC and to tune the invariant gains of the SAC is the Population Decline Swarm Optimization ($P_DSO$). It is a modification of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique that takes into account a decline demographic model to speed up the optimization procedure. Tuning and flight mechanics results are presented to show both the effectiveness of the proposed $P_DSO$ and the fault tolerant capability of the proposed scheme to control the aircraft pitch motion even in presence of elevator failures.
