While the issue of caring for the elderly that faces the modern society has reached a serious level, it is expected that it will be particularly true in the Republic of Korea where an aged, not an aging, society is impending. In this paper I did research on establishing behavioral model of residents who dwell in home or welfare facilities. I suggested a behavioral model in daily living, $W_{ip}(n)$, based on event triggering. A multi-hop routing-based wireless luminance/temperature sensor network was built based on the proposed resident's behavioral model. 1 did experiments on behavioral activities of residents on the wireless sensor network system. According to experimental results. I could classify whether the daily activity of a resident someday is regular or not. These experimental results show that the proposed behavioral model is highly applicable in caring for residents in home or welfare facilities effectively in the future.
The R&E(Research and Education) programs in Mathematics, which have the objects to give students mathematically creative experiences and enlarge creativities of the study of mathematics, could not give the experiences as creative researchers because of the following reasons: The students did not participate in the process of choosing the subjects, the evaluation of individual students actually did not existed, and the publications of mathematics papers have been excluded. In this paper, we study on the issues and some suggestions related to these R&E programs to obtain new R&E Model that gives a mathematically creative experience and enlarges creativities of the study of mathematics.
Carroll and Ruppert(1988) analyzed the esterase assay data with regression model based on quasi-likelihood. Jung and Lee(1997) introduced a goodness-of-fit test for testing the adequacy of the quasi-likelihood and claimed that there is no gross inadequacy with the model because their test was not rejected. However, Lee and Xelder(199S)'s residual plots revealed that the model did not sufficiently reflect the increase of the variance with that of the mean. In this paper, we re-analyze the esterase assay data with the joint modelling of mean and dispersion in Lee and l\elder(1998) and evaluate the validity of the fitted model by applying the residual plots. And it is illustrated that Lee and Nelder(199S)'s restricted likelihood is more efficient in goodness-of-fit test for the dispersion model.

In this paper we choose the best model among several bivariate Poisson models on Korean soccer data. The models considered allow for correlation between the number of goals of two competing teams. We use an R package called bivpois for bivariate Poisson regression models and the data of K-league for season 1983-2012. Finally we conclude that the best fitted model supported by the AIC and BIC is the bivariate Poisson model with constant covariance. The zero and diagonal inflated models did not improve the model fit. The model can be used to examine home-away effect, goodness of fit, attack and defense parameters.
We calculated the wind velocities for 32 Cyg in order to understand how influence a damping length on the wind of supergiant driven by Alfven waves. Four cases, $\lambda$=0.9, 1.0, 5.0, the ratio of the damping length to the supergiant's radius, and the damping length increasing linearly with the distance from the star, were compared. The results showed the forces by Alfven waves gave the major contribution to the wind velocity but the forces by the pressure and gravitation did little. The model for the damping length with the linear relation showed the rapid increased due to short damping length near the surface of the star.

An water balance model was formulated to simulate the change in water levels at the estuary reservoir from sluice gate releases and the inflow hydrographs, and an one-di- mensional flood routing model was formulated to simulate temporal and spatial varia- tions of flood hydrographs along the estuarine river. Flow rates through sluice gates were calibrated with data from the estuary dam, and the results were used for a water balance model, which did a good job in predicting the water level fluctuations. The flood routing model which used the results from two hydrologic models and the water balance model simulated hydrographs that were in close agreement with the observed data. The flood forecasting model was found to be applicable to real-time forecasting of water level fluc- tuations with reasonable accuracies.
In generally, we use a method of the survey to forecast the economic demands and non-economic demands for a market trend. But we have a difficult problem to estimate the demand for the marketplace objectively because the survey with the non-response and the inadequate understanding on questionnaires did not provided the strong and uniform forecast. Here, we proposed a method compounded of survey and a statistical model to estimate the demand for the marketplace and discussed the mixture model applied to the service demand on an agency.

A random coefficient model is applied when times of the repeated measurements are not fixed in experiments with respect to the subjects. The procedures of the inference of a random coefficient model are same as those of a mixed model. Diet experimental data was used for applying the random coefficient model. Various random coefficient models are investigated for the experimental data, and are compared each other. Finally, optimal random coefficient model would be selected. It resulted from the analysis that for the fixed effect factor, the baseline, treatment, height, and time effect were very significant. The treatment effect of the diet foods and exercises were more effective in losing weight than the effect of the diet foods only. The fixed cubic time effect was very significant. The variance components corresponding to the subject effect, linear time effect, quadratic time effect, and cubic time effect of the random coefficients are all positive. When quartic time effect was added as random coefficients the model did not converge. Thus random coefficients up to the cubic terms was considered as the optimal model.
This study attempts to empirically investigate the effects of government R&D subsidies on private firm's R&D investment in Korean industry. The R&D subsidy effect is defined as the average percentage change in firm's R&D expenditures between what was actually observed among firms that received a subsidy and what these firms would have spent had the subsidy not been received. To measure the effect we use Difference-in-Differences (DID) model which sign as to whether the relationship between government subsidies and private R&D investments is on stimulating or displacing private R&D expenditures. The differences between this study and previous studies are that we tries to measure the effect of Government R&D across various sited firm groups such as large, small & medium, and venture firms and we add one lag of the subsidy indicator in order to capture the effect of the subsidies on private R&D during 2 consecutive period. Empirically, a firm with government R&D subsidy increases its own R&D investment by 13.9%. Also on average, 1% of government R&D subsidy leads to 0.031% of private R&D increase. The main results of this study are as follows : First, Government R&D subsidies stimulate private firm's R&D expenditures. Second, Government R&D subsidies greatly increase (statistically significant) company financed R&D expenditures only for large firms but had no effect on the R&D expenditures of small & medium sized firms and venture firms.

The purpose of this study was to examine how customer orientation (CO) reduces employee stress to customers (CSS). As emotional labor strategies [surface acting (SA) and deep acting (DA)] may mediate a role between CO and CSS, we verified multiple parallel mediator roles of SA and DA between CO and CSS. Our survey was administered to 323 school foodservice employees in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. The results show that CO increased DA but did not decrease SA, and SA had a positive effect on CSS while DA did not influence CSS. These results did not support the parallel multiple mediator model. We conducted post-hoc model modification and proposed the serial multiple mediator model as a modified model. As a result, CO increased DA, DA reduced SA, and SA showed a positive relation with CSS. This double mediating effect through DA and SA between CO and CSS was significant. Based on these results, we found that CO did not have a direct effect on SA and CSS. DA did not directly reduce CSS while CO reduced SA and CSS through DA indirectly. DA had a negative effect on CSS through SA indirectly. Finally, implications and limitations of this are discussed.
