  • In recent years, distributed control systems(DCS) using fieldbus such as CAN have been applied to process systems but it is very difficult to design the DCS while guaranteeing the given end-to-end constraints such as precedence constraints, time constraints, and periods and priorities of tasks and messages. This paper presents a scheduling method to guarantee the given end-to-end constraints considering aperiodic, periodic and non-real-time message and task simultaneously. The presented scheduling method is the integrated one considering both tasks executed in each node and messages transmitted via the network and is designed to be applied to a general DCS that has multiple loops with several types of constraints, where each loop consists of sensor nodes with multiple sensors, actuator nodes with multiple actuators and controller nodes with multiple tasks.

  • This study shows the reduction effect of freight volume by the supply chain redesign for the alliance of distributors with system dynamics simulation. The as-is model is composed of 3 independent companies which one has 3 distribution centers (DCS) and 24 agents, another has 1 dc and 9 agents, the other has 3 DCS and 15 agents each. The to-be model is an integrated logistics model and composed of 1 company having 5 areal DCS and 38 agents. Each agent in the same area is integrated with each other. Two models have same demands but very different result. As a result, the freight volume between DCS and agents is reduced by 33.55%. This case study will be useful to analyze the similar cases about the logistics integration by supply chain redesign.

  • Innate immune cells survey antigenic materials beneath our body surfaces and provide a front-line response to internal and external danger signals. Dendritic cells (DCs), a subset of innate immune cells, are critical sentinels that perform multiple roles in immune responses, from acting as principal modulators to priming an adaptive immune response through antigen-specific signaling. In the gut, DCs meet exogenous, non-harmful food antigens as well as vast commensal microbes under steady-state conditions. In other instances, they must combat pathogenic microbes to prevent infections. In this review, we focus on the function of intestinal DCs in maintaining intestinal immune homeostasis. Specifically, we describe how intestinal DCs affect IgA production from B cells and influence the generation of unique subsets of T cell.

  • The Satellite Technology Research Centre (SaTReC), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has developed and is to launch STSAT-1 (Science and Technology Satellite - 1) on 27$^{th}$ September 2003. The data collection system (DCS) is the one of its payloads. The DCS is a data relay system used for transmission from ground-based sensors through satellite to receiving station. This is one of the important methods collecting global data from the remote locations. In this paper, the DCS on the STSAT-1 will be introduced and the development of the mobile terminal (MT) will be reported.

  • Used analog control systems have been converted into digital control systems due to performance degradation and difficulty of maintenance. There are few domestic DCS (Distribued Control System)s that have been applied to power plant. To apply a domestic DCS to power plant, the reliability, redundacny, and fault tolerance of DCS is important. Besides those items, the control action of control function block is also important. In this paper, we describe the requirements that PID control function block has to have, and implement a PID control function block that satisfies those requirements. Finally, real control result using an implemented PID function block in thermal power plant shows the validity of an implemented PID control function block.

  • Nowadays, the study on the ceramic components and modules used in telecommunication system is being performed. Coupler is a microwave passive component used for power coupling or dividing and directional coupler is designed to be possible optional dividing percentage. In our research, We developed 14dB and 19dB directional couplers of DCS band. The good characteristics, the target insertion loss and high isolation, of couplers is obtained by LTCC processing using a ceramic material.

  • As a potent antigen presenting cells and a powerful inducer of antigen specific immunity including cytotoxic T cell activity, dendritic cells(DCs) are being considered as a promising anti-tumor therapeutic module. Unlike solid tumors, leukemia is the hematologic malignancy involving immune effector cells. The expected usage of DCs in leukemia is the treatment of minimal residual disease(MRD) after the remission or stem cell transplantation. In this study, syngeneic leukemia cells were inoculated intra-venously into the mouse (WEHI-3 into the Balb/c), and the autologous tumor cell lysate pulsed DCs were injected as a therapeutic module twice in two weeks.
