  • HTS(High Temperature Superconductor) tapes have dependence on critical characteristics such as electric, magnetic field and temperature. In order to confirm these effects, we examined the current transport characteristics of HTS tapes. First, after being fed DC and AC, the dependence of HTS tapes of 10cm on external magnetic field was investigated. On centeral region of HTS tape, about 1cm, external magnetic field was applied. Second, after applying DC of 50A to HTS tapes, we applied time variable magnetic field about 100mT and investigated the quench characteristics. Finally, AC, which is about 10 times of I$_{c}$, was applied to HTS tapes and over current characteristics were investigated. The data acquired in this study will be used as a source for the study of HTS cable conductor which is supposed to carry on.n.

  • The effect of magnetic field on NOx removal characteristics from a combustion flue gas has been experimentally investigated for a DC corona discharge reactor with a multipoint plate geometry in our Lab. Combustion flue gas removal efficiency of this type was much higher than that of the other types. In this paper, needle-plate geometry discharge system with applied magnetic field at a right angle to the electric field was made. Input power source was used negative DC. The corona discharge characteristics for this system was investigated and compared with the corona characteristics for the corona discharge system without magnetic field.

  • Recently, usage of electric and electronic system for car increases rapidly. Consequently power monitoring supplied to the system is essential for management and controlling. Generally, battery status is monitored through measuring and diagnosing the current measurement method utilizing Hall Effect. Therefore, in this paper, we analysed magnetic field to develop the solution of DC current sensor using Hall Effect which is the core of design and development. By analysing the magnetic field by FEM using Maxwell 3D software, the location of the highest output current and stable part in the Hall IC sensor was shown. Also, the optimal core design of DC current sensor using parametric and Simplex method was presented. A car battery charge and discharge process dependant on time effect on the changing of magnetic field was simulated and compared to the result from the experiment result of actual vehicle.

  • This paper presents to verify the selective grounding fault protective relaying technique for the ungrounded DC traction power supply system. This system selectively blocks fault section when grounding fault occurred. In order to perform this verification, field test facilities have been installed on Oesam substation and Worldcup-Stadium substation, and field test process has been suggested. Also, selective grounding fault protective relaying components and rail voltage reduction device have been tested with the various trial examinations. In order to compare and evaluate performance of the selective grounding fault protective relaying function, field test system was modeled and the system fault simulation results were compared and evaluated with the field test result. Performance of selective grounding fault protective relaying function was evaluated with the above-mentioned process, and the fact that the system recognizes fault section irrespective of insulation between rail and ground and fault resistance from grounding fault.

  • We studied the distribution of the current density and its magnetic-field dependence in GdBCO coated conductors with AC bias currents using low temperature scanning Hall probe microscopy. We selectively measured magnetic field profiles from AC signal obtained by Lock-in technique and calculated current distributions by inversion calculation. In order to confirm the AC measurement results, we applied DC current corresponding to RMS value of AC current and compared distribution of AC and DC transport current. We carried out the same measurements at various external DC magnetic fields, and investigated field dependence of AC current distribution. We notice that the AC current distribution unaffected by external magnetic fields and preserved their own path on the contrary to DC current.

  • It is required to reduce the cost of superconducting cable to realize a superconducting DC power network that covers a wide area in order to utilize renewable energy. In this paper a new concept of innovative cable is introduced that can enhance the current-carrying capacity even though the same superconducting tape is used. Such a cable can be realized by designing an optimal winding structure in such a way that the angle between the tape and magnetic field becomes small. This idea was confirmed by preliminary experiments for a single layer model cable made of Bi-2223 tapes and REBCO coated conductors. Experiments of three and four layer cables of practical sizes were also done and it was found that the current-carrying capacity increased as theoretically predicted. If the critical current properties of commercial superconducting tapes are further improved in a parallel magnetic field, the enhancement will become pronounced and this technology will surely contribute to realization of superconducting DC power network.

  • To detect the surface and the opposite side cracks on iron specimen under AC and DC magnetic fields, the planar inductive coil sensors were employed. When the induced signals were measured, the planar inductive coil sensor and the magnetic field source were lifted off about 2 mm from the top surface of the specimen. AC magnetic fields and DC magnetic fields were applied to the specimens by single straight Cu coil and NdFeB permanent magnet, respectively. The detected signals at crack positions were good coincidence with those of the simulation results.

  • This paper describes electric field analysis and design of direct current arresters for electric traction vehicles. Generally, DC arresters are used to protect the electric traction to limit the overvoltage invading into its inner electrical circuits. We could proposed operating voltage(Uc), the rated voltage(Ur). Finally maxwell 2D simulator based on the boundary element method was also introduced in order to verify the reliability of the DC arresters.

  • We have developed the Scan-backlight Stereoscopic LCD that is a kind of field-sequential -Stereoscopic LCD combining the Dual- Directional- Backlight and the fast-response OCB panel. The Dual-Directional-Backlight using a double-sided prism sheet can change the direction of light by switching the LED light sources. The OCB panel using Feed-Forward Drive can realize frame rate of 120 Hz. As a result, the Scan-backlight Stereoscopic display works at its original resolving power, and produces flicker-free stereoscopic images. This auto- stereoscopic display can resolved the problems of the double images and the pseudoscopic images in case of watching at oblique angles.

DC servo motor is used in application field of a peat many control machine or robot etc. and in this field, selection of controller parameters requires user's expert knowledge. Therefore, general amount of work engineers must continuously iteration tuning in controller parameters by trial and error. With this, when must tuning parameter coefficient about change of dynamic system or disturbance, can improve the efficiency according to following that is more precised and parameter coefficient value that is optimized by using genetic algorithm. In this paper, from dynamic character modeling get in analyze dynamic character of DC motor desist controller drive control possible that is fast response character md improved speed precision using a Genetic Algorithms.
