  • 본 논문은 스마트그리드용 배터리 에너지 저장장치(Battery Energy Storage System, BESS)와 같은 대용량 전력변환장치의 개발 및 성능검증 시험에 사용된 대용량 시험설비에 대해 기술하였다. 대용량 시험설비는 모의 수 배전 계통 설비, DC Power Supply, 부하설비로 구성되어 있다. 모의 수 배전 설비는 개발 시험규격과 계통 상황을 모의하고, DC Power Supply는 연료전지나 배터리 등의 DC Source, 수동부하장치는 전력 변환 설비의 각종 부하들을 모의하기 위해 설계 제작하여 스마트그리드용 2MVA BESS의 성능검증 시험에 이용하고 있다.

  • The emerging applications such as reliable back-up power system and renewable energy call for high boost U-n converter. The conventional topologies to get high output voltage are using flyback circuit, cascade converters, and coupled inductor DC-DC converter. They have the stress and loss related to the leakage energy which results in low efficiency Tn this paper, novel high boost converter is presented. It has a structure of cascade boost converter but only one switch. Therefore, drive circuit is simple and extreme duty ratio is eliminated. To verify the proposed circuit, theoretical analysis and experimental results has been done using a prototype power supply.

  • This paper details methods used to verify the adquacy of a dc traction power supply for design in Seoul matropolitain subway Line-6 system. Examples of the approach are given for a major subway presently under construction. The performance of trains operating at maximum system design capacity is modelled using a train simulation program. Using a dc network analyser program, the maximum train operating timetable, and a model of the ac and dc electrical suppy system, the electrical performance of the entire system can be modelled over a 24-hour period. The results of this analysis are used to determime: train voltage at a level sufficient to ensure train schedules: adequacy of traction transformers, rectifier, and switchgear ratings; sizes of the overhead contact systern conductors, and ac and de feeder cables: and power and energy demands at the utility company's supply points for inital and final timetable operations.

  • Recently, a power supply system of the telecommunication equipments with monitoring function has been widely studied. In the power supply system which is apart from the central station, it is required to check and test the operating states of the system at the central station. In this paper, the power supply system with monitoring function is discussed. In the system, the Full-Bridge converter is designed as a power supply and it has the ratings of DC 280-340V input and DC 48V, 480W output. And the monitoring part of the system is composed of a voltage and current sensing unit A/D converter, I/O card, and a personal computer. The operating states of the system is monitored by checking the voltage and current variation at input and output, and it is represented by graphical modes. By conducting the experiment, it is confirmed that the operating states of the system is well monitored.

  • 최근 화석연료의 고갈과 환경에 대한 우려로 고효율 에너지 변환 연구가 진행되고 있으며, 최근 이러한 Trend에 맞춰서 국내외 적으로 전력을 효율적으로 사용하기 위해 DC 배전에 대한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 DC배전의 추세에 맞춰, 고품질과 고효율의 에너지를 DC 부하에 공급 할 수 있는 DC UPS에 대한 연구 개발을 수행하였다.

Optimal Power Flow of DC-Grid Based on Improved PSO Algorithm

  • Voltage sourced converter (VSC) based direct-current (DC) grid has the ability to control power flow flexibly and securely, thus it has become one of the most valid approaches in aspect of large-scale renewable power generation, oceanic island power supply and new urban grid construction. To solve the optimal power flow (OPF) problem in DC grid, an adaptive particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm based on fuzzy control theory is proposed in this paper, and the optimal operation considering both power loss and voltage quality is realized. Firstly, the fuzzy membership curve is used to transform two objectives into one, the fitness value of latest step is introduced as input of fuzzy controller to adjust the controlling parameters of PSO dynamically. The proposed strategy was applied in solving the power flow issue in six terminals DC grid model, and corresponding results are presented to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of proposed algorithm.

비상전원 기능을 갖는 3kW급 하이브리드 ESS 개발 (Development of 3kW Hybrid ESS with Function of Emergency Power Supply)

  • This paper proposes a high-efficiency 3-kW hybrid ESS with emergency power supply. The proposed system enables efficient use of power from photovoltaic (PV) cells and energy storage system (ESS). The proposed system can operate as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) when grid fault occurs, providing seamless transfer from grid-connected mode to stand-alone mode. The LLC converter for PV achieves ZVS turn-on of switches and ZCS turn-off of diodes, and the isolated bidirectional DC-DC converter for ESS achieves ZCS turn-off regardless of load condition, resulting in high efficiency. The efficiency and performance of the proposed hybrid ESS has been verified by a 3-kW prototype.

  • 하이브리드 자동차나 전기 자동차에는 대용량의 배터리를 장착하여 동력 및 전장품의 전원으로 사용하고 있다. 대용량의 배터리를 이용하여 ECU(Electronic control unit) 및 조명, 라디오, 네비게이션 등의 전장품의 전원으로 사용하기 위해서는 DC 240-400V의 높은 전압을 DC 12-14V의 낮은 전원으로 변환해 주는 DC 컨버터가 필요한데 이것을 LDC(Low Voltage DC-DC Converter)라 한다. LDC는 생산 공정 중에 잠재적인 불량을 줄이기 위해 장시간의 에이징(Aging)을 실시하고 있다. 일반적인 에이징 방법으로는 LDC가 DC-DC 컨버터이기에 입력에 직류전원공급기와 출력에 전자부하기를 연결하여 사용한다. 안정적인 동작을 위해 LDC 보다 10%이상 큰 용량의 제품을 사용하며, 출력에 걸리는 전력을 100% 열로 소비하는 구조이다. 때문에 LDC를 테스트 위해 2개의 장비를 사용함에 따른 부피의 문제와 전자부하기의 발열에 따른 문제가 존재한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 부하장치에서 열로 소비되는 전기의 상당부분을 입력 측으로 되돌려 보내는 재생형 방식의 부하시험방법을 제안하고 재생형 부하 시험기의 효율 개선을 통하여 열로 소비된 전기의 80% 이상 절감을 실현하였다.

비접지 DC 급전계통에서 전류형 지락보호계전 방법 (Ground fault protective relaying schemes for DC traction power supply system)

  • In urban rail transit systems, ground faults in the DC traction power supply system are currently detected by the potential relay, 64P. Though it detects the fault it cannot identify the faulted region and therefore the faulted region could not be isolated properly. Therefore it could cause a power loss of the trains running on the healthy regions and the safety of the passengers in the trains could be affected adversely. Two new ground fault protective relay schemes that can identify the faulted region are presented in this paper. A current limiting device, called Device X, is newly introduced in both system, which enables large amount of ground fault current flow upon the positive line to ground fault. One type of the relaying schemes is called directional and differential ground fault protective relay which uses the current differential scheme in detecting the fault and uses the permissive signal from neighboring substation to identify the faulted region correctly. The other is called ground over current protective relay. It is similar to the ordinary over current relay but it measures the ground current at the device X not at the power feeding line, and it compares the current variation value to the ground current in Device X to identify the correct faulted line. Though both type of the relays have pros and cons and can identify the faulted region correctly, the ground over current protective relaying scheme has more advantages than the other.

불평형 전원 전압을 갖는 PWM 컨버터의 입·출력 특성 분석 (Analysis of Input·Output Characteristics in the PWM Converter with Unbalance Supply Voltage)

  • The PWM(Pulse Width Modulated) converter for the AC to DC rectification has become attractive in the industrial variable-speed drive application and the electric utilities due to the following benefits: Nearly the sinusoidal input current with unity power factor; Controllable DC link voltage; Bidirectional power flow. This paper presents a quantitative analysis of single and three phase PWM converter's input and output characteristics as a function of the input filter inductance under balanced and unbalanced conditions. Also, its performance under the supply voltage including harmonics is investigated by simulation with Matlab Simlulink and experiments. These results provide a reference for selecting the reasonable converter's input filter inductance for given harmonics or power factor criterion.
