  • This paper presents auto-tuning to compensate the integrator windup of the current and the speed PID controller of DC motor, which suppress the overshoot of transient response without delay of rising time. The simulation results using Matlab show the validity of auto-tuning methods.

  • Among various Power converters, a variable voltage variable frequency (VVVF) three-phase PWM inverter is regarded as most promising power converter due to its capabilities, which permits the control of voltage, frequency and harmonic contents in a single power stage employing only on DC source. As a modulating technique of the PWM inverter, the regular sampling technique has rendered possible the on-line computation and generation of PWM control waveforms with a reasonably high switching frequencies. In this paper, microprocessor based three-phase regular samping PWM inverter with real-time control algorithm and control circuits for driving three phase AC motor has been developed. Harmocic components of PWM waveform were analized theoretically in terms of Bessel function series and then calculated by digital computer and observed with spectrum analyzer.

  • A Buoyant Hybrid Power Generation System (BHPGS) described in this paper, is a conceptual approach to a hybrid solar-wind power generation in the near sea. The primary purpose of the BHPGS is given to improve utilization of solar cell modules. Main components of the BHPGS include a solar cell module, buoyant object, power generator, and support assembly including weight. Components such a generator controller, DC/AC converter, etc., are not configured in the current BHPGS because they can easily be purchased as a commercial-off-the-shelf product. In addition, some of the BHPGS applications are discussed.

  • SMES consists of superconducting magnet, power converter and cryostat and HTS current lead. The prototype cryostat with HTS current leads and refrigerators was designed and manufactured for micro-SMES. HTS current lead with cryocooler was measured the temperature rise under dc current. The cryostat was evaluated the helium boil-off and mechanical stress during transfer and vibration test. These results will be applied to develope the micro-SMES system.

  • For an analysis and simulation of the conducted EMI of switching converters, an accurate simulation model for MOSFET is needed. This paper presents a new modeling approach, which incorporates DC output characteristics and AC dynamics especially the parasitic capacitances. It uses Pspice ABM(Analog Behavioral Model) and the MOSFET parameters can be obtained from the Data sheet in the frequency range of interest for EMI analysis. The model verified with an experimental setup and the EMI for a test converter is analyzed with respect to the MOSFET switching waveforms.

  • 본 논문에서는 새로운 양방향 ZVS PWM Sepic/Zeta 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안한 컨버터는 PWM 제어가능한 컨버터로서 입력과 출력전압의 극성이 같은 비반전 컨버터의 특징을 지니며 DC 전압의 전달함수가 양방향 모두 M=D/(1-D)로 동일하다. 또한 각방향으로 전력전달시 다이오드와 병렬로 연결된 MOSFET가 다이오드의 'ON'시 동시에 'ON'되어 Sychronous Rectifier로 동작하므로 도통손을 저감하였으며, Auxiliary Resonant Commutated Pole를 사용하여 저감된 스위칭 손실을 갖는 특성을 지니고 있다. 또한 Transformer 버전이 존재하므로 입력과 출력사잉에 전기적 절연을 필요로 하는 실제응용에 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.

  • A bimodal tram is being developed to combine the flexibility of a bus with the punctuality of a train. The propulsion system is a series hybrid type using a set of CNG engine generator and Li-polymer battery. This paper presents the experimental results of the series hybrid propulsion power unit using an active loader which can simulate powering and regenerative braking conditions of the propulsion equipments continuously. The power sharing scheme between PWM converter and a battery pack has been observed. The measurement results of DC link voltage and SOC(State Of Charge) of battery pack are presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차용 단상 온-보드 충전기를 위한 Cycloconverter-type High Frequency Link 회로구조와 능동 전력 디커플링 회로를 이용한 전기자동차용 고전력밀도 양방향 온-보드 충전기를 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 전력변환부 단계를 줄이기 위한 AC-AC 변환회로와 DC링크 캐패시터를 최대한 줄이기 위해서 벅-타입 능동 전력 필터를 사용한다. 이를 통해 전력변환시스템 전체의 부피를 줄일 수 있으며, 전해 커패시터를 필름 커패시터로 대체하여 수명 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 제안된 시스템의 성능은 MATLAB/Simulink 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였다.

  • A dynamic model of the Korean total artificial heart(TAH) which contains a brushless DC motor, all of mechanical components, the pump system with integrated variable volume space(WS) and the circulatory system model including the bronchial circulation were established Two different sets of seven differential equations were separately derived for the left and right systolic period of the Korean TAH operation. Throughout the computer simulation, a full-state fEedback optimal controller that minimizes the power consumption of the Korean TAH and drives the end stage velocity of the energy converter to zero was developed based upon the optimal control theory. Robustness of the controller were also analyzed with the dynamic model of the Korean TAH.

A Single-Chip CMOS Digitally Synthesized 0-35 MHz Agile Function Generator

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of a single-chip digitally synthesized 0-35MHz agile function generator. The chip comprises an integrated direct digital synthesizer (DDS) with a 10-bit on- chip digital-to-analog converter (DAC) using an n-well single-poly triple-metal 0.5-$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS technology. The main features of the chip include maximum clock frequency of 100 MHz at 3.3-V supply voltage, 32-bit frequency tuning word resolution, 12-bit phase tuning word resolution, and an on-chip 10-bit DAC. The chip provides sinusoidal, ramp, saw-tooth, and random waveforms with phase and frequency modulation, and power-down function. At 100-MHz clock frequency, the chip covers a bandwidth from dc to 35 MHz in 0.0233-Hz frequency steps with 190-ns frequency switching speed. The complete chip occupies 12-mm$^2$die area and dissipates 0.4 W at 100-MHz clock frequency.
