분지관 혼합기의 난류 혼합에 대한 유동 가시화 연구(I) (Flow visualization Study on the Turbulent Mixing of Two Fluid Streams(I))

  • An experimental study has been carried out to obtain optimal conditions for turbulent mixing of two fluid streams at various angle branches by a flow visualization method. The main purpose of this study is the utilization of flow visualization method as a fast and efficient way to find the optimal mixing conditions when several flow control parameters are superimposed. It is verified that the optimal conditions estimated by flow visualization method have good agreement with the concentration field measurements. The results demonstrate that the diameter ratio is mainly attributed to the mixing phenomena than the branch pipe angle and the Reynolds number. The most striking fact is that there exists the best diameter ratio, d/D.ident. O.17, which requires the minimum momentum ratio in the range of the present experiment. The velocity ratio for the optimal mixing condition has a value within 2 to 16 according to the different flow parameters.

  • This paper proposes maximum torque control of IPMSM drive using optimal current. This control method is applicable over the entire speed range which considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $i_d$ for maximum torque operation is derived. This paper considers the design and implementation of novel technique of high performance speed control for IPMSM using multi-MFC and ANN controller. Also, this paper proposes maximum control of IPMSM drive using approximation method. This method is decreased the burden of digital signal process(DSP) in calculation of optimal current. This paper proposes the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of the MFC and ANN controller. Also it verifies the validity of maximum torque control of IPMSM drive with optimal current.

반응면 기법을 이용한 천음속 축류압축기의 삼차원 형상 최적설계 (Design Optimization of An Axial-Flow Compressor Rotor Using Response Surface Method)

  • Design optimization of a transonic compressor rotor (NASA rotor 37) using response surface method and three-dimensional Navier-Stokes analysis has been carried out in this work. Baldwin-Lomax turbulence model was used in the flow analysis. Three design variables were selected to optimize the stacking line of the blade. Data points for response evaluations were selected by D-optimal design, and linear programming method was used for the optimization on the response surface. As a main result of the optimization, adiabatic efficiency was successfully improved. It is also found that the design process provides reliable design of a turbomachinery blade with reasonable computing time.

  • The multiobjective optimization (MO) problem usually includes the conflicting objectives and the use of conventional optimization algorithms for MO problem does not so good approach to obtain an effective optimal solution. In this paper, genetic algorithm (GA) as an effective method is used to solve such MO problem of brushless DC motor (BLDCM). 3D equivalent magnetic circuit network (EMCN) method which enables us to reduce the computational burden is also used to consider the 3D structure of BLDCM. In order to effectively obtain a set of Pareto optimal solutions in MO problem, ranking method proposed by Fonseca is applied. The objective functions are decrease of cogging torque and increase of torque respectively. The airgap length, teeth width and magnetization angle of PM are selected for the design variables. The experimental results are also shown to confirm the validity of the optimization results.

  • Thermoforming is one of the most versatile and economical processes available for the manufacturing polymer products. The drawback of thermoforming is difficult to get uniform thickness of final products. For the distribution of thickness strongly depends on the temperature distribution of sheet, the adjustment of heater power is very important In this paper, an optimization study for getting uniform temperature distribution was carried out using dual optimization steps. At first, the steady state optimal distribution of heater power is searched by numerical optimization to get uniform temperature of sheet surface. In the second step, time-dependent optimal heater inputs have been found out to decrease the temperature difference through the direction of thickness using Rseponse Surface Method and D-optimal method. The optimization results show that the time-dependent optimal heater power distribution gives acceptable uniform sheet temperature in the field of forming temperature..

Spline parameterization based nonlinear trajectory optimization along 4D waypoints

  • Flight trajectory optimization has become an important factor not only to reduce the operational costs (e.g.,, fuel and time related costs) of the airliners but also to reduce the environmental impact (e.g.,, emissions, contrails and noise etc.) caused by the airliners. So far, these factors have been dealt with in the context of 2D and 3D trajectory optimization, which are no longer efficient. Presently, the 4D trajectory optimization is required in order to cope with the current air traffic management (ATM). This study deals with a cubic spline approximation method for solving 4D trajectory optimization problem (TOP). The state vector, its time derivative and control vector are parameterized using cubic spline interpolation (CSI). Consequently, the objective function and constraints are expressed as functions of the value of state and control at the temporal nodes, this representation transforms the TOP into nonlinear programming problem (NLP). The proposed method is successfully applied to the generation of a minimum length optimal trajectories along 4D waypoints, where the method generated smooth 4D optimal trajectories with very accurate results.

  • When actual IPMSM is driving, it is difficult to figure out the correct current during the current control period due to the operation speed limit of digital signal processing. Therefore, in order to control IPMSM for electric vehicle efficiently, we should design 2D Look-up Table to find out optimal current reference corresponding to speed and torque of IPMSM. This paper explains the design method of 2D Look-up Table for optimal current control of constant torque area and constant output area of IPMSM for electric vehicle. Finally, experimental results are presented to verify the reliability of 2D Look-up Table.

새로운 블럭펄스 적분연산행렬을 이용한 비선형계 최적제어 (Optimal Control of Nonlinear Systems Using The New Integral Operational Matrix of Block Pulse Functions)

  • In this paper, we presented a new algebraic iterative algorithm for the optimal control of the nonlinear systems. The algorithm is based on two steps. The first step transforms nonlinear optimal control problem into a sequence of linear optimal control problem using the quasilinearization method. In the second step, TPBCP(two point boundary condition problem) is solved by algebraic equations instead of differential equations using the new integral operational matrix of BPF(block pulse functions). The proposed algorithm is simple and efficient in computation for the optimal control of nonlinear systems and is less error value than that by the conventional matrix. In computer simulation, the algorithm was verified through the optimal control design of synchronous machine connected to an infinite bus.

음성 신호의 다구간 에너지 차를 이용한 새로운 프리엠퍼시스 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on a New Pre-emphasis Method Using the Short-Term Energy Difference of Speech Signal)

  • The pre-emphasis is an essential process for speech signal processing. Widely used two methods are the typical method using a fixed value near unity and te optimal method using the autocorrelation ratio of the signal. This study proposes a new pre-emphasis method using the short-term energy difference of speech signal, which can effectively compensate the glottal source characteristics and lip radiation characteristics. Using the proposed pre-emphasis, speech analysis, such as spectrum estimation, formant detection, is performed and the results are compared with those of the conventional two pre-emphasis methods. The speech analysis with 5 single vowels showed that the proposed method enhanced the spectral shapes and gave nearly constant formant frequencies and could escape the overlapping of adjacent two formants. comparison with FFT spectra had verified the above results and showed the accuracy of the proposed method. The computational complexity of the proposed method reduced to about 50% of the optimal method.

아이소-지오메트릭 형상 최적설계의 실험적 검증 (Experimental Validation of Isogeometric Optimal Design)

  • 본 논문에서는 아이소-지오메트릭 형상 최적설계 기법에서 얻은 CAD 정보를 직접 활용하여, 3D 프린터를 활용한 실험적 검증을 위한 시편을 제작하였다. 유한요소법에서는 요소망에 내재하는 기하학적인 근사가 응답과 설계민감도 해석에서 정밀도 문제를 발생시킨다. 더욱이 유한요소 기반 형상 최적화 과정에서는 CAD와의 정보교환이 필수적이나 그 과정에서 최적설계 정보의 손실이 발생할 수 있다. 아이소-지오메트릭 기법은 CAD에서 사용된 동일한 NURBS 기저함수와 조정점을 사용하므로 법선벡터와 곡률과 같은 엄밀한 기하학적 정보를 응답해석과 설계민감도 해석에 사용할 수 있다. 또한 최적설계 과정에서 CAD와 정보교환 없이 복잡한 형상을 손쉽게 변경할 수 있다. 그러므로 최적의 설계의 재료량을 실험적 검증을 위한 시편제작에 엄밀하게 반영할 수 있다. 굽힘 하중을 받는 단순지지 구조물에 대한 최적설계 및 실험적 검증을 통해 최적형상이 초기 형상에 비해 더 큰 강성을 가지며 실험결과와 수치 해석결과가 매우 잘 일치함을 보였다. 또한 인장력을 받는 유공판에 대한 형상 최적설계를 수행하였으며, 비접촉식 3차원 변형 측정 장치를 이용하여 초기설계에 비해 최적설계에서 구멍주변에서의 응력집중 현상이 완화됨을 확인하였다. 따라서 수치적인 방법을 활용한 최적설계가 실제 구조물에 대한 실험에서도 유효함을 입증하였다고 할 수 있다. 또한, 아이소-지오메트릭 최적설계 방법론이 기존의 유한요소법에 비해서 최적설계 결과를 제작하여 활용하는데 있어서도 훨씬 효율적이고 엄밀한 방법임을 보였다.
