플랜트 부품용 상용 발수코팅의 고온 환경 고장 특성 비교 분석 (Failure Analysis of Commercial Water-Repellent Coatings for High Temperature Plant)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate failure characteristic and mechanism of four commercial water-repellent coatings for elevated temperature machinery applications. Method: Thermal degradation was performed for up to 64 thermal cycles. 1 cycle consists of 15 minute holding at 523K under 300rpm revolution and 15 minute-natural cooling. Contact angle was measured and microstructure of the coating layer was observed by using a scanning electron microscope. Results: Four kinds of commercial repellent coating showed hydrophobic or super-hydrophobic property implying that all coatings are suitable for room temperature application. Contact angle of three kinds of commercial coatings decreased rapidly after thermal exposure, while only one specimen having hydrophobic surface showed extremely slow degradation. Conclusion: Observed decrease in contact angle of the coatings were attributed to formation of macro-sized pores and disappearance of micro-protrusion during thermal exposure. Optimum water-repellent coating needs to be selected under the consideration of initial contact angle as sell as service temperature.

저습도 사이클 조건에서의 라이너지와 골판지의 물성 (Physical Properties of Linerboard and Corrugated Fiberboard at the Cyclic Condition of Low Humidity)

  • The hygroscopic property of paper is important for convertability and end use performance. When the board and corrugated fiberboard are exposed to low relative humidity, a trouble of score (or crease) cracking could occur. In this study, we evaluated the moisture content and mechanical properties of linerboard and corrugated board at the cyclic condition of low humidity to prevent a score crack trouble. As the relative humidity decreased from 50% to 38% and 25%, the moisture content of linerboard decreased about 7% to 6% and 4%. At low humidity, most of mechanical properties were improved except for strain. The linerboard exposed at 25% RH showed a remarkable reduction of strain by 11%. At the same relative humidity, linerboard and corrugated fiberboard showed the different property values depending on moisture hysteresis.

개방형 BIM 기반 품질검토를 위한 IFC 속성정보 호환성 테스트 (Interoperability Tests of IFC Property Information for Open BIM based Quality Assurance)

  • The construction industry consists of various and massive architectural information as an architectural process includes a variety of design stages with cooperation of many disciplines. A Building Information Modeling (BIM) serves as a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle from inception onward. building SMART has developed Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) standard for interoperability of BIM based information. Several software tools are already IFC-compliant. However, there are a lot of problems related to efficient interoperability of software owing to the lack of guide regarding the software usage and insufficiency IFC interfaces of software. The purpose of this study is to suggest efficient IFC support interface development methodologies of existing IFC certified software. The scope of this study is interoperability test for open BIM based quality assurance. To achieve this purpose, the authors have classified subject of open BIM based quality assurance and investigated IFC certification process and certified software. In addition, the authors have exported and imported via IFC files using different IFC interfaces in the software for interoperability of architectural objects and their properties. Finally, the authors have suggested IFC support interface development methodologies and hereafter direction for efficient interoperability of IFC certified software based on open BIM.

신개발 유두컵 라이너용 고무조성물의 물리적 특성 조사 (Study on the Physical Properties of New Developed Teat Cup Liner Compounds)

  • The teat cup liner compounds with improved physical property were developed using tri-polymer blend of natural rubber(NR), ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber(EPDM) and butyl rubber, and the changes of the physical properties of compounds were measured under various conditions such as standard, thermal, alkaline detergent and acid solutions aging conditions. The hardness of the new teat cup liner compound 1 was 50 and that of the compound 2 was 51 under standard condition. The tensile strength and elongation of the new compound 1 were $154kgf/cm^2$ and 675% under the standard condition, respectively. Also, those of the new compound 2 were 180 kgf/cm and 634% under the same condition. Their hardness were increased about $2{\sim}6%$ and the tensile strength and elongation were decreased about 10% under the $25^{\circ}C$ water and detergent solutions. Even though the new teat cup liner compounds exhibited so much decreased tensile properties under the $105^{\circ}C$ thermal aged condition, they sustained more stable aged physical properties including tensile strength and elongation than those of imported teat cup liner materials. Consequently, the new teat cup liner compounds would give prolonged lift cycle if they are used as a teat cup liner product.

자동차 인테리어 모듈의 BSR 소음과 음질 특성 연구 (A Study on BSR Noise and Sound Quality Property for Vehicle Interior Module)

  • Among the various elements affecting a customer's evaluation of automobile quality, buzz, squeak and rattle(BSR) have been considered to be major factors. In most vehicle manufacturers, the BSR problems are solved by find-fix method with the vehicle road test, mainly due to various excitation sources, complex generation mechanism and subjective response. To systematically tackle the BSR problems in early stage of the vehicle development cycle, these difficulties should be resolved. The aim of the present paper is to characterize the sound quality property of BSR noise that can be used to assess the subjective responses to BSR. The four sound metrics from Zwicker's sound quality parameter are computed for the signals recorded for eight BSR noise source regions localized by using the acoustic-field visualized results. Then, the jury test of BSR noise are performed. On the basis of the computed sound metrics and jury test result is evaluated to represent the harshness of BSR noise. It is expected that the developed BSR measuring system and sound quality properties can be used to reduce the automotive interior BSR noise in terms of subjective levels as well as objective levels.

  • We usually divide the noise of exhaust system into pulsation noise and flow noise. Pulsation noise is the shock wave to occur when the burning gas of low pressure emits and include harmonic having basic frequency as the exhaust cycle of engine. Flow noise is the noise that is produced when gas flow emits into the atmosphere through the pipe and has the character of frequency like pink noise which has the high level of high frequency component. A muffler is divided into reflective type and absorptive type. We usually use the muffler compounding the property of them. In this study, it is the case of transfer matrix method that a muffler is compounded to analyze the elements of each section according to sound wave's proceed direction. But we use simple model. So, we use finite element method that takes short time to analyze. Acoustic analysis gives us transfer matrix to use FEA of SYSNOISE and we use STAR-CD for fluid analysis. We made database that is based on analytical results about the muffler of expansion type, extended type, offset type, reverse type, and perforated type and developed the muffler design system to perform work efficiently.

3D Interconnection을 위한 실리콘 관통 전극 내부의 절연막 증착 공정과 그 막의 특성에 관한 연구 (The Film Property and Deposition Process of TSV Inside for 3D Interconnection)

  • 높은 종횡비를 갖는 비아 및 트렌치 상에 절연 막으로서 $SiO_2$를 증착하고 증착 특성 및 막의 특성을 연구하였다. 실리콘 관통 전극에서 절연 막은 전극의 벽면과 그 내부에 충진 된 물질간의 상호 확산 감소와 물질 간 접착, 전기적 절연, 디바이스로의 전기적 누수 차단 등의 역할을 해야 한다. 따라서 이러한 특성을 확인하기 위해 3종의 화학 기상 증착법인 PECVD, PETEOS, ALD을 선정하고 절연 막 증착 후 특성평가를 진행 하였다. 특성평가 항목 중 step coverage는 PECVD : <30%, PETEOS : 45%, ALD : 75%, 표면 거칠기는 PECVD : 27.8 nm, PETEOS : 2.1 nm, ALD : <2.0 nm으로 측정되어 막질의 특성은 ALD가 가장 우수하게 평가 되었으나, 실제 기술의 적용에서 가장 중요한 요소인 증착률에서 ALD는 $18\;\AA/1cycle$로서 $10\;\AA/min$ 이라는 대략적 시간이 소요되어 $5000\;\AA/min$의 증착률을 보인 PETEOS에 비해 매우 낮은 수준으로 최소 $1000\;\AA$ 이상의 두께가 요구되는 절연 막의 적용에는 어려움이 있고, 따라서 PETEOS가 본 연구에서 최적의 recipe라 평가되었다.

고온 S-CO2 환경에 노출된 오스테나이트계 합금의 인장특성 평가 (Evaluation of Tensile Property of Austenitic Alloys Exposed to High-Temperature S-CO2 Environment)

  • 소듐냉각고속로(Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor, SFR)의 증기 Rankine 싸이클 발전시스템을 높은 열효율과 안전성을 가지는 초임계 이산화탄소(Supercritical carbon dioxide, $S-CO_2$) Brayton 싸이클로 대체하는 방안이 고려되고 있다. 다양한 오스테나이트계 합금이 고온 $S-CO_2$ 환경 열교환시스템 구조재료로 제시되고 있다. 구조재료는 장시간 고온 $S-CO_2$ 환경에 노출됨에 따라 미세구조에 변화가 일어나고, 나아가 기계적 특성의 저하가 발생할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 오스테니틱 스테인리스강들과 Alloy 800HT를 고온 $S-CO_2$ 환경에 노출시키고, 그에 따른 부식특성 및 인장특성을 평가하였다. 그 결과 $650^{\circ}C$, 250시간 노출 후 316H SS와 800HT에서 큰 연신율 감소를 보였다. $S-CO_2$ 환경이 인장특성 변화에 미치는 영향을 표면 산화막 및 탄화거동을 통해 분석한 결과, 316H 와 800H 의 거동이 큰 차이를 보였다.

시너(thinner)의 물리화학적 특성과 랫트의 생식기에 미치는 영향 연구 (A Study on thinner's Physicochemical property and its effect on genital organ of rat)

  • The aim of this study is to confirm the physicochemical property and hazard of thinner (012), which is a diluent of enamel paint used for floor coating for waterproofing and oil painting for the outer wall. The literatures of physicochemical property and hazard of thinner were surveyed and its physicochemical property were evaluated. And then, the inhalation toxicity of thinner affecting the central nervous system and reproductive organs in rats were examined by subchronic (6 h./day. 5 days/ week for 13 weeks) inhalation test. 1) According to the 13-week subchronic inhalation test, there were no significant changes in clinical test and body weight. However, a significant evidence of toxicity was observed in the hematological test and organ weight such as heart, kidney, liver and brain (p<0.01) in the 200 ppm and 1,000 ppm exposure groups in a dose response manner. In the histopathology analysis, there were no significant evidence of toxicity. Therefore, thinner was not classified as an organ targeted toxic agent. In case of Harmfulness, it could be classified as a chronic toxic agent 3($500 ppm/4hr, rat). 2) The reproductive toxicity such as extension of the period of estrous cycle, reduction of serum estradiol concentration and increase of frequency of the abnormal sperm was observed in the 1,000 ppm exposed animals. 3) The result of the physicochemical property of the test material showed that the specific gravity was 0.793, boiling point $155.8^{\circ}C$, steam pressure 2.1 kPa, ignition point $34.5^{\circ}C$, and spontaneous ignition point $280^{\circ}C$. The endothermic and exothermic values were 371.4 J/g and 159.1 J/g. respectively. The explosion limit was 214 mg/l. These data showed that thinner could be classified as an explosion agent level 1.2 and ignitive liquid agent 3 ($23-60^{\circ}C$) according to the notification No. 2008-1 of the Labor Ministry, "Classifying Standard of Chemical Materials."

Possible involvement of temperature-entrainable timing system in arrhythmic mutant flies in Drosophila melanogaster

  • In Drosophila melanogaster, it is known that the circadian clock consists of an autoregulatory feedback loop, which includes so-called clock genes, such as per, tim, dClk and cyc and produces periodical expression of per. It is recently suggested, however, that the circadian oscillation without the rhythmical expression of per is involved in the regulation of circadian locomotor rhythms. In the present study, we examined the existence and the property of the possible per-less oscillation using arrhythmic clock mutant flies carrying per$^{01}$, tim$^{01}$, dClk$^{Jrk}$ or cyc$^{01}$. When temperature cycles consisting of 25$^{\circ}$C and 30$^{\circ}$C with varying periods (T = 8~32 hr) were given, they showed rhythms synchronizing with the given cycle under constant darkness (DD). per$^{01}$ and tim$^{01}$ flies always showed a peak around 7 hr after the onset of thermophase irrespective of Ts of temperature cycles, while dClk$^{Jrk}$ and cyc$^{01}$ flies did not. In addition, several days were necessary to establish a clear temperature entrainment in per$^{01}$ and tim$^{01}$ flies, when they were transferred from a constant temperature to a temperature cycle under DD. These results suggest that per$^{01}$ and tim$^{01}$ flies have a temperature-entrainable weak oscillatory mechanism. The fact that dClk$^{Jrk}$ and cyc$^{01}$ flies did not show any sign of the endogenous oscillation suggests that the per-less oscillatory mechanism may require CLK and CYC.
