  • The damage of cyber bullying is increasing. A response of code is needed with that of law and education. This study would use the strengths of a virtual simulation as one of the technical solutions. Students learn cyber bullying and prevention of it through each step. The steps in this application model consist of recognition${\rightarrow}$judgement${\rightarrow}$decision${\rightarrow}$behavior. Each detailed step of this model is made of pre-briefing${\rightarrow}$demanding of response${\rightarrow}$participating in response${\rightarrow}$result and feedback${\rightarrow}$growth${\rightarrow}$debriefing. Thus we developed the application model of this virtual simulation and implemented it for education and prevention of cyber bullying. We hope that the model and simulation developed by this study would reduce the damage resulting from cyber bullying.

To this end, 318 published papers from WoS related to information ethics were text mined. Specifically, this paper analyzed the frequency of key-words(TF, DF, TF-IDF), information ethics issues using topic modeling, and frequency of appearances by year for each issue. This paper used 'tm', 'topicmodel' package of R for text mining. The main results are as follows. First, this paper confirmed that the words 'digital', 'student', 'software', and 'privacy' were the main key-words through TF-IDF. • As smartphone use has become so popular recently, bullying and harassment in cyber space are a growing problem both at home and abroad. While various studies on cyberbullying in other countries began more than a decade ago, there are few studies in Korea. In order to effectively respond to cyberbullying, diverse studies based on in-depth analysis of the problem should be conducted. Therefore, this study describes the definitions and types of cyberbullying, the differences between traditional bullying and cyberbullying, and the causes and effects of cyberbullying. In addition, this study analyzes the existing research related to the response strategies of cyberbullying and then suggests its own prevention and intervention strategies.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of cyber bullying prevention education on university students. The subjects were 64 college students and were assigned to experimental group or Comparison group. The experimental group(n = 33) was educated about cyberbullying coping strategies, and the Comparison group(n = 31) was educated about general cyberbullying We used the Basic Emotions Scale, Helplessness Scale, and Competence Scale to confirm the efficacy of the education. Results, Both the experimental group and the Comparison group showed less negative emotions and helplessness after the education than before the education. In the experimental group, competence was significantly higher than the Comparison group. These results suggest that the inclusion of coping strategy is more effective in increasing competence than cyber bullying prevention education. Finally, the limitations of this study were discussed along with suggestions for further research.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to gain insights into empathy, cyberbullying, and cybervictimization among Filipino adolescents. Methods: The participants were 168 junior high school students in the 7th to 10th grades at a public high school in Cavite Province, Philippines. Data were collected on demographic characteristics, the Basic Empathy Scale, and Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory-II scores. The data were analyzed in SPSS using descriptive statistics (frequency and mean), the independent t-test, bivariate correlation, and one-way analysis of variance. Results: The degree of empathy did not show a statistically significant relationship with cyberbullying (r=-.07, p=.359) but did show a significant relationship with cybervictimization (r=.18, p=.025). Furthermore, cyberbullying had a statistically significant association with cybervictimization (r=.60, p<.001). Conclusion: Although empathy does not necessarily affect cyberbullying, higher levels of empathy were found among cyberbullying victims. However, an alarming result of this study is the possibility that victims may become cyberbullies. Therefore, we should highlight empathy as part of efforts to prevent cyberbullying and to solve various cyber-related problems. Since cyberbullying and cybervictimization are closely related, it is important to focus on this relationship and to make multilateral efforts to ensure that cyberbullying does not lead to other negative issues.
