Research on the development of an AI-based customized learning support model : Focusing on the university class environment (인공지능 기반 맞춤형 학습 지원 모형 개발 연구 : 대학교 수업 환경을 중심으로)

  • Research Purpose : Based on artificial intelligence, this study considers learners' characteristics, learning content, and individual learning, and analyzes the collected learning data to develop a model that supports customized learning for individual learners. Research content and method : In order to achieve the research purpose, the literature was analyzed to investigate the structure of customized learning support, learning data analysis, and learning activities, and based on the investigated data, the area and detailed components of the customized learning support model were derived. did. A draft model was constructed through literature analysis, and the first expert Delphi survey was conducted on the draft model with five experts. The model was revised by reflecting the results of the first Delphi, and the validity of the revised model was verified through the second expert Delphi. The model was elaborated through expert Delphi, and the final model was constructed through this. Conclusion and Recommendation : Through research, customized learning support area, class management system area, and learning analysis data area were formed, and detailed elements were derived for each area. The results of this study provide basic data that can be used as a reference for constructing a customized learning support system based on artificial intelligence, taking into account the university's class environment.

  • This study was conducted to highlight the need for systematic and tailored learning support strategies for students at A University in the Jeonbuk region, based on the results of the university's self-developed Multi-Dimensional Learning Competency Test (MLCT). The research aimed to analyze foundational data to accurately diagnose students' learning competencies according to their characteristics and provide customized learning support. A total of 773 participants were involved in the study, which analyzed the MLCT components of 'Motivation,' 'Cognition,' 'Behavior,' 'Emotion,' and 'Environment' across different groups based on sex, grade level, and college affiliation. The findings underscore the necessity of developing and disseminating various learning competency analysis tools to ensure that students can adapt well to university life and engage in successful learning activities without dropping out. This calls for the development of systematic learner diagnosis methods and tailored learning support programs.

An Analysis of University Students' Needs for Learning Support Functions of Learning Management System Augmented with Artificial Intelligence Technology

  • The aim of this study is to identify intelligent learning support functions in Learning Management System (LMS) to support university student learning activities during the transition from face-to-face classes to online learning. To accomplish this, we investigated the perceptions of students on the levels of importance and urgency toward learning support functions of LMS powered with Artificial Intelligent (AI) technology and analyzed the differences in perception according to student characteristics. As a result of this study, the function that students considered to be the most important and felt an urgent need to adopt was to give automated grading and feedback for their writing assignments. The functions with the next highest score in importance and urgency were related to receiving customized feedback and help on task performance processed as well as results in the learning progress. In addition, students view a function to receive customized feedback according to their own learning plan and progress and to receive suggestions for improvement by diagnosing their strengths and weaknesses to be both vitally important and urgently needed. On the other hand, the learning support function of LMS, which was ranked as low importance and urgency, was a function that analyzed the interaction between professors and students and between fellow students. It is expected that the results of this student needs analysis will be helpful in deriving the contents of learning support functions that should be developed as well as providing basic information for prioritizing when applying AI technology to implement learner-centered LMS in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to design career learning program content and to suggest a development plan in order to assist in freshmen's successful adaptation. To accomplish this goal, first, we reviewed the precedent studies on the situations and problems of freshmen and education programs for freshmen. H. university freshmen's needs for support programs were analyzed. Second, a career learning program conceptual model was developed based on the results of precedent studies and program needs analysis. Third, the program contents for enhancing career learning competency were designed, and we suggested a development plan focusing on customized content, emotional support, and on-off line convergence program. It developed career learning tracks, big data analysis, and action planning as main content. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for the development and implementation of competency-based customized career learning programs for freshmen, which will help improve the quality of career learning programs and freshmen's adaptability.

  • The objectives of this study are to investigate core learning ability necessary for the 21st century and to develop core human resources required for social and national development in the future. The '21st Century Learning Ability Project' is to approach the existing knowledge and learning multidisciplinary and interactively based on the learning ability of each learner and individually and socially valuable themes. Even in Korea, a variety of intersubject integrative educational curriculum was attempted to cultivate learning ability. However, there are not enough teachers who can teach the differences between the content and characteristics for each subject by fully understanding them. Thus, it is difficult to apply them easily to the field of education. Thus, this study develops the multidisciplinary customized educational curriculum in order to develop the learning ability necessary for the 21st century, analyzes the reality of the educational curriculum integrating the academic knowledge in order to support this effectively. As a result, this study offers the interdisciplinary customized integrated model applicable to elementary and middle schools.

  • Despite their tilde application of some traditional project management techniques like the Program Evaluation and Review Technique, they lack of learning, one of important factors in many disciplines today due to a static view far prefect progression. This study proposes a framework for estimation by learning based on a Linear Bayesian approach. As a project progresses, we sequentially observe the durations of completed activities. By reflecting this newly available information to update the distribution of remaining activity durations and thus project duration, we can implement a decision support system that updates e.g. the expected project completion time as well as the probabilities of completing the project within talc due date and by a certain date. By Implementing such customized systems, project manager can be aware of changing project status more effectively and better revise resource allocation plans.

  • The digital transformation and COVID-19 are also causing major changes in teaching-learning methods. The biggest change is the spread of remote training and the emergence of various innovative learning platforms. Distance education has been criticized for not meeting technology trends and field demands..However, the problem of distance education is being solved through a system that supports various interactions and collaborations and supports customized learning paths. The researcher conducted a case study on domestic and foreign learning platforms that provide non-face-to-face ICT education. Based on the case study results, the researcher presented the functional characteristics of a learning platform that effectively supports non-face-to-face learning. In common, these sites faithfully supported the basic functions of the information system. In addition to learning progress check and learning guidance, some innovative learning platforms were providing differentiated functions in practice support, performance management, mentoring, learning data analysis, curation provision, and CDP support. Most learning platforms supported one-way, superficial interaction. If the platform effectively supports a variety of learning experiences and provides an integrated learning experience thanks to the development of IT technology, user satisfaction with the learning platform, intention to continue learning, and achievement will increase.

Needs Analysis of Vocational Education and e-Learning for Foreign Workers in Korea (외국인근로자 직업능력개발을 위한 교육훈련 및 e-Learning 요구분석)

  • In this study we analyzed the foreign workers' needs for pre-training and post support, and researched possibility of e-Learning as the effective methodology for foreign workers' vocational development. A total of 1872 people were participated in this study. The first contents of the survey were satisfaction and difficulties focusing on pre-training. The second contents were willingness to participate in post-training program, the expected difficulties related to post support. The third contents were preferences and needs of e-Learning, The results revealed various issues of the pre-training and post support. Foreign workers showed high expectation and needs on post training program, but the problems such as lack of time and workplace leave were pointed out to the greatest difficulties. Considering their high preferences for e-Learning, a possibility and necessity of e-Learning which can resolve difficulties of the workplace leave and give the customized service at different conditions and levels of training was anticipated.

  • In accordance with the educational paradigm that values self-directed creative education, school libraries and public libraries emphasize self-directed learning support through curriculum-linked programs as their main tasks. For self-directed learning, it is essential to provide learner-centered educational knowledge information, and there should be abundant textbook-linked references that can deepen and expand the curriculum reflected in textbooks. This study established KDC-linked information related to unit and cross-curricular learning topics through the analysis of elementary school textbooks and curriculum-linked books, restructured KDC system based on major subjects in the elementary school curriculum, and established a curriculum-linked subject information. Libraries can strengthen support for self-directed creative learning for elementary school students in an online environment by linking library content targeted for each user with elementary school education content focusing on learning topics in the curriculum.
