Social Supports from Organization and Customer: An Integrated Model

  • This study applies the job-demands resource (JD-R) model to investigate the interactive effect of job demands and job resources in predicting the development of service employee work engagement and customer-oriented attitude. This paper proposed a theoretical model that suggests that the service employee's work engagement is the consequence of the employee's perceived support from the organization and its customers (customer participation) and leads to a customer-oriented attitude. However, the effect of organizational support is somewhat hindered by job insecurity, demonstrating the inability of an organizationally provided job resource to overcome the job demand of job insecurity. As a type of job demand from customer's perspective, customer crowding is suggested as a negative moderator in the link between customer participation and work engagement. As such, this article proposes how different elements of a service employee's work environment interact to ultimately influence the service employee's customer-oriented attitude. Specifically, the current research focuses on how the negative contextual elements of job insecurity and job crowding (i.e., job demands) interact with the potentially positive elements of organizational support and customer participation (i.e., job resources), as well as with an employee's customer orientation, to ultimately develop a customer-oriented attitude. This study concludes with some propositions for potential causal relationships among key constructs that can be empirically tested in future research, as well as implications of the current study for both managers and researchers.

  • 본 연구는 지방공무원들의 핵심자기평가가 직무열의와 고객지향성에 미치는 영향을 경험적으로 파악하여 정책적 시사점을 도출할 목적으로 수행되었다. 그동안 고객지향 행정서비스 제공하기 위한 다양한 제도적 방법이 도입되어 왔지만 만족할 만한 얻지 못했다. 제도적 접근만으로는 관료들이 직무수행 행태를 고객지향적 행동으로 바꾸는데 한계가 있기 때문이다. 공무원들의 서비스 공급자 중심의 역할인식과 직무수행방식을 수요자 중심으로 바뀌는 데는 다양한 접근이 필요한 것이다. 이론적 관점에서 볼 때 핵심자기평가는 조직심리학에서 나온 개념으로 조직구성원이 자신의 업무수행 능력이나 외부환경 대처 역량에 대한 잠재의식적 평가로 조직구성원의 직무열의에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 요인으로 알려져 있다. 심리적 개념인 핵심 자기평가와 고객지향성이라는 직무수행 태도와 이론적 차원의 관련성도 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 분석 결과 핵심자기평가가 공무원의 고객지향성에 긍정적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며 직무열의가 매개적 역할을 수행하고 있음도 제시하였다. 행정서비스의 고객지향성을 강화하기 위해서는 제도적 통제와는 별도로 자신감과 외적 환경 변화 대응능력을 높이는 교육훈련을 강화하는 정책적 접근을 제안하였다.

공항상주직원의 감정노동에 대한 내부마케팅과 고객지향성에 대한 연구 (A Study for the Effect of Internal Marketing on Airport Employees' Customer-Oriented Attitude Considering Their Emotional Labor)

  • Airport is not only a public facility but a place where multiple cultural and ethnic groups are visiting. It has been reported though several researches that the level of emotional labor is more heavier than any other job. The more complex our society become, the more frequently emotional labor has been focused. Emotional labor became recently the issue of integrated studies above. Considering the level of emotional labor of airport employees, this paper believes their emotional labor has not been focused compared to such as tourism and service industry. This paper tried to research empirically the impact of internal marketing on airport employees' customer-oriented attitude based on their emotional labor using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). According to the SEM results, it was proven that 'Autonomy of Airport Employee', a latent variable of internal marketing has a significant negative effect on employees' outside emotion. The outside emotion has also a significant effect on their customer-oriented attitude. It could be concluded the effort to increase decision making authority of employees should be implemented to provide them with deeper customer oriented insight.

  • 본 연구는 지방공무원들의 셀프리더십이 직무만족과 고객지향성에 미치는 영향을 경험적으로 파악하여 정책적 시사점을 도출할 목적으로 수행되었다. 그동안 행정서비스를 국민의 필요와 욕구에 맞춰 제공하기 위한 다양한 제도적 방법이 도입되어 왔지만 만족할 만한 얻지 못했다. 제도적 접근만으로는 관료들이 직무수행 행태를 고객지향적 행동으로 바꾸는데 한계가 있기 때문이다. 오랜 공무원들의 서비스 공급자 중심의 역할인식과 직무수행방식을 수요자 중심으로 바뀌는 데는 많은 시간이 필요한 것이다. 셀프리더십은 조직구성원의 자발적이고 능동적 행동을 통한 내적에너지를 업무수행에 활용하는 능력으로 조직목표달성에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 요인이다. 본 연구의 분석 결과 셀프리더십이 공무원의 고객지향성에 긍정적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며 직무만족도가 매개적 역할을 수행하고 있음도 제시하였다. 행정서비스의 고객지향성을 강화하기 위해서는 제도적 통제를 받지 않아도 자기 스스로 자신의 태도와 행동을 긍정적 방향으로 바꿀 수 있도록 셀프리더십을 향상시키는 정책적 접근을 제안하였다.

신진 디자이너 브랜드의 시장 지향성 고찰 (A Qualitative Study on Market Orientation of New Designer Brand)

  • This study explores the level of designer brands' market oriented attitude through a conceptual framework of market orientation. Designer brands have rapidly increased in the Korean fashion market with a competitive environment that pushes designers to improve market oriented attitudes and strategy. Designers working for 20 brands that the government designated as 'promising creative designer brands' were invited for in-depth interviews, 19 designers from 18 brands participated in this study. The generation of market intelligence that composes market orientation meant that the designers were confirmed to collecting different types of information according to information sources. They showed interest in collecting information on the exploration of design trends from overseas designers as well as operational and managerial information from domestic designers. Fashion-related stakeholders mainly collected feedback on design concepts from the press and public institutions. They collected customer feedback from buyers; however, appropriate feedback was inadequate. Designers generally appeared to place less value on the collection of customer responses and opinions; however, two groups of designers showed customer-oriented attitudes according to accumulated experience. The market-oriented attitude of top designers had an important role in designer brands; consequently, top designers should be properly trained to improve market-oriented attitudes to increase market performance.

청소년의 과시소비성향에 따른 수입명품 및 유명브랜드 의류제품에 대한 태도 및 구매행동 (Adolescents′ Attitude Toward and Purchasing Behavior for the Imported Luxuries and the Famous Brand Clothing as Determined by Conspicuous Consumption)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in adolescents' conspicuous consumption, and their attitude toward and purchasing behaviors for the imported luxuries and the famous brand clothing. A questionnaire survey was conducted to 570 high school students in Seoul; 538 were used for final data analysis. Factor analysis, cluster analysis, $\chi$$^2$-analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Range test were used for the statistical analyses. In terms of conspicuous consumption, three factors were formulated: brand and fashion orientation, others orientations, and prize and import orientation. Based on the factor scores, three clusters were identified: the inconspicuous, the others-oriented conspicuous, and the brand-oriented conspicuous. Regarding attitudes toward the products, significant differences were found in all attitudes. The brand-oriented conspicuous showed more favorable attitude toward the products than the other groups. Significant differences were also found in purchasing behaviors except the companions for shopping and purchase time. The brand-oriented conspicuous tended to purchase more, spend more money, prefer department stores, consider brand name and customer service as the most important criteria, and use impersonal informations sources when shopping the products. The other-oriented conspicuous tended to buy bogus products the most, use personal information and consider price and others' perception as important criteria. The inconspicuous were less likely to buy and spend money for the products.

식생활 라이프스타일이 레스토랑 MSG 사용 선호도에 미치는 영향 : 식품안전태도의 조절효과 중심으로 (Effects of Food Life Style on Preference for MSG Use at Restaurants: Focused on the Moderating Effects of Attitude to Food Safety)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 고객의 식생활 라이프스타일이 레스토랑에서 MSG 사용 선호에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, Baron & Kenny가 제시한 위계적 회귀분석을 이용하여 식품 안전에 태도의 조절 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 식생활 라이프스타일은 식품 탐험형, 미각 추구형, 건강 추구형, 편의 추구형, 고유 추구형으로 5 개 그룹으로 분류된다. 둘째, 편의 추구형은 레스토랑에서 MSG 사용 선호도에 정(+)의 영향력이 있었지만, 건강추구형과 고유추구형은 부(-)의 유의적인 영향력이 있었다. 셋째, 식품안전태도는 편의추구형과 고유추구형에서 레스토랑 MSG 사용 선호도 간에 유의적인 부(-)의 조절효과가 있었다.

진주지역 약선요리 선택속성이 고객만족과 구매태도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effects of Selection Attributes of Medicinal Food on Customer Satisfaction and Purchase Attitude in Jinju Area)

  • 본 연구는 진주지역 소비자들의 약선요리 선택속성이 고객만족과 구매태도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 실증분석을 위해 총 300부의 설문지를 배부하여 252부의 자료를 표본자료로 사용하였으며 자료처리는 SPSS WIN 20.0 통계패키지를 이용하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 약선요리 선택속성은 만족에 유의한 영향을 미칠 것이다의 가설에서는 음식품질, 건강식품, 서비스가 만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 약선요리 고객만족은 재방문에 유의한 영향을 미칠 것이다의 가설에서는 고객만족이 재방문에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 약선요리 고객만족은 추천에 유의한 영향을 미칠 것이다의 가설에서는 고객만족이 타인의 추천에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 진주지역 약선요리 전문점들은 건강지향적인 메뉴와 음식품질 및 품격 있는 서비스를 제공하여 자사의 전문성을 고객에게 인지시킬 수 있는 전략을 강화시켜야 할 것이다.

고객지향적 병원 급식서비스 운영을 위한 질 평가 도구 개발 및 적용 (Development of Quality Assessment Tool and Application to Customer-Oriented Hospital Foodservice Management)

  • The purposes of this study were to : a) develop the quality assessment tool of hospital foodservice management, b) evaluate the S hospital's foodservice quality by this tool, and c) do the feasibility study about this tool in hospital food-service field by establishing quality management strategies. The developed quality assessment tool of hospital food-service management was consisted of 20 items for quality evaluation by Likert 5 point scale and two additional questions with the most satisfactory item and the most unsatisfactory item. As a result of evaluation, S hospital's foodservice quality was somewhat high, on the factor 'personnel attitude', especially. The IPA technique proved nine items including Q5, Q7, Q8, Q11, Q12, Q13, Q15, Q16, Q17 were in 'Doing Great, Keep It Up' and seven items such as Q1, Q2, Q3, Q6, Q9, Q18, Q19 that got high expectation and low perception needed to be focused in quality management strategy.

의사의 커뮤니케이션 스타일과 질, 의사-환자관계 유형에 따른 환자만족 요인 (Influence of Physician's Communication Style and Quality, and Physician-Patient Relationship on Patient Satisfaction)

  • The main objective of this study is to investigate the influence of physician's communication styles and quality, and physician-patient relationship on patient satisfaction for improving physician's communication which is one of factors determining service quality in health care services, and providing the suggestion for building the positive physician-patient relationship. Data were collected from 341 inpatients in 13 general hospitals and university hospitals located in Busan Metropolitan City and Kyeongsang-do area using structured self-administered questionnaires. Major results of the empirical analysis are as follows; First, mutual-opened-cooperative physician-patient relationship, patient's communication receptive attitude, patient-oriented physician's communication style, and quality were significantly varied by respondents' characteristics such as age, consensual, job, and income. Second, empathy, patient's communication receptive attitude, physician-patient relationship, and patient satisfaction were significantly varied by respondents' medical-related conditions. Third, there was a significant correlation between active communication receptive attitude of patient and mutual-opened-cooperative physician-patient relationship. Fourth, patient-oriented physician's communication style and physician-patient relationship were found to have positive influence on total communication quality and effectiveness and empathy facet of communication quality both. Finally, patient-oriented physician's communication style, empathy, active communication receptive attitude of patient, and mutual-opened-cooperative physician-patient relationship were found to have positive influence on patient satisfaction. This research findings suggest that putting emphasis on effective physician's communication and enhancing positive physician-patient relationship are crucial for marketing activities and customer satisfaction management in health care settings.
