In hysteresis simulation, the Preisach model is most widely used as the reliability. However, since the first-order transition curves used in the conventional Preisach model are very inconvenient for actual measurement, many researches have been made to simplify them. In this study, the minor loops obtained along the initial magnetization curve are used to obtain the Everett function used in the Preisach model. In other words, The Everett table is constructed by using the minor loops, and are applied to the magnetization dependent Preisach model to reconstruct the Everett table. In order to minimize the error, the spline interpolation method is used to complete the final Everett table and the hysteresis loop simulation is performed with the Everett table. Furthermore, it is applied to the inductor analysis to perform not only sinusoidal wave and square wave drive but also PWM wave drive considering hysteresis. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by comparison with simulation and experiment.
In this paper, an improved Direct Power Control (DPC) algorithm is presented for grid connected three phase PWM rectifiers. The new DPC approach is based on two main tasks. First the optimization of the look-up table, which is well-known in conventional DPC, is outlined for selecting the optimum converter output voltage vectors. Secondly a very simple and effective method is used to directly calculate their duty cycles from the power errors. Therefore, the measured active and reactive powers are made to track their references using hysteresis controllers. Then two vectors are selected and applied during one control cycle to minimize both the active and reactive power ripples. The main advantages of this method are that there is no need of linear current controllers, coordinates transformations or modulators. In addition, the control strategy is able to operate at constant switching frequencies to ease the design of the power converter and the AC harmonic filter. The control exhibits a good steady state performance and improves the dynamic response without any overshoot in the line current. Theoretical principles of the proposed method are discussed. Both simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the performance and effectiveness of this control scheme.
Due to several advantages of Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) Converter, such as unity power factor operation, elimination of low-order harmonics and regeneration of motor braking energy to source, the application range of PWM Converter has been rapidly extended in industrial application. Nowadays, vector control algorithm and space vector PWM(SVPWM) method are applied to improve the performances of PWM Converter, but vector control algorithm and SVPWM require to use Microprocessor and other digital devices in hardware, causing costly and somewhat large dimension system. In every practical application of energy conversion equipments, the design and implementation should be carried out considering cost and performance. High performance and low cost is the best choice for energy conversion equipments. So, this paper presents the practical design method and implementation results of 3-phase PWM Converter with analog hysteresis current controller, and verifies the performances of unit power factor operation and energy regeneration operation via experimental results.
In this paper, a high performance current control strategy for a Brushless DC Motor is presented. The proposed strategy is based on the ramp comparison PI current control with the predictive voltage compensation. The proposed strategy is compared with the hysteresis current control strategy. The proposed method can improve the current waveforms, and it can reduce the torque ripples. So the proposed strategy is suitable to a high performance current control strategy for a Brushless DC Motor. The simulation and experimental results for a laboratory Brushless DC motor drive system confirm the validity of the proposed strategy.
Many modern hydraulic excavators now use EPPRVs (Electronic Proportional Pressure Reducing Valves) in their pilot systems to control the spool displacement of the main hydraulic system. However, the performance of these systems is often limited by factors such as magnetic hysteresis, mechanical wear, and transient responses influenced by operating conditions and component installation. This paper presents a pressure feedback controller for excavator pilot systems that utilize EPPRVs. This controller significantly reduces steady-state pressure control errors and mitigates the hysteresis effects commonly seen in traditional open-loop systems. To achieve this, we integrated EPPRVs with the main hydraulic valve and injected a chirp signal into the solenoid current. By doing so, we were able to measure the frequency response of the pilot system across different operating pressures and estimate the system dynamics model. Using these models, we designed a set of PI pressure feedback controllers that are guaranteed to be stable. These controllers were then integrated with a gain scheduler based on a lookup table. Experimental results demonstrate that when the developed pressure feedback controller is incorporated into the conventional open-loop controller, it effectively reduces steady-state pressure control errors and mitigates hysteresis.
From the viewpoint of an effective energy use, many method for reactive power compensation has been developed. Among of the reactive power compensation, this paper describes the relation of operation interpretation, filter, hysteresis width and switching time of current controlled PWM converter which has excellent reactive power compensation. This current controlled PWM convertor is excellent the view of reactive power compensation by current control method using hysteresis comparator method, but is required element of high response characteristics. Therefore this paper offers the series of data for system considering switching characteristics of switching element.
A time-delay compensation method for vector control system is proposed that can compensate for voltage and current distortions resulting from a time delay in the overall system due to the low pass filter, hysteresis control inverter, microprocessor program computation time, and so on. The proposed scheme estimates the time delay using the difference between the Q-axis stator current command and the time-delayed actual Q-axis stator current in a synchronous reference frame, then compensates the time delay in the voltage and current using the angular displacement of a DQ transformation. Accordingly, the proposed scheme can accurately compensate for the time delay related to the overall system, thereby significantly improving the performance of the vector control system, as verified by simulation and experiment.

The increasing demand for high voltage DC grids resulting from the continuous installation of offshore wind farms in the North Sea has led to the concept of multi-terminal direct current (MTDC) grids, which face some challenges. Power (current) flow control is a challenge that must be addressed to realize a reliable operation of MTDC grids. This paper presents a reduced switch count topology of a current flow controller (CFC) for power flow and current limiting applications in MTDC grids. A simple control system based on hysteresis band current control is proposed for the CFC. The theory of operation and control of the CFC are demonstrated. The key features of the proposed controller, including cable current balancing, cable current limiting, and current nulling, are illustrated. An MTDC grid is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK software to evaluate the steady state and dynamic performance of the proposed CFC topology. Furthermore, a low power prototype is built for a CFC to experimentally validate its performance using rapid control prototyping. Simulation and experimental studies indicate the fast dynamic response and precise results of the proposed topology. Furthermore, the proposed controller offers a real solution for power flow challenges in MTDC grids.
