  • Popularly known to be originated in museums and art galleries, curation is widely applied in many other fields ranging from curation commerce to curated databases by today. Libraries also have started to provide different types of curation services such as data curation, digital curation, content curation, book curation, and social curation. However, the relationship between the curation service and the library service is not adequately studied and documented. The objective of this paper is to address that gap by analyzing the relationship between curation service and the library service. Particularly, this paper pays attention to study the relationship between curation service and library reference service. The research methods used by this study were an extensive literature review followed by some carefully selected real-world examples of curation services in libraries and other fields. The authors have analyzed and documented the origin and the meaning of two concepts, the challenges faced by library reference service, and the applicability of curation as a modest form of library reference service in the $21^{st}$-century. Based on the study findings, this paper concludes that curation service is not a new concept for the library but a natural evolution of the library reference service in response to the changing information environment and user expectations in the digital age.

'Convenience, fashion trend, and exploratory' increased purchase intentions for fashion shopping propensity, 'information search for utility, entertainment, and personal expression' increased purchase intentions for fashion curation services and 'brand identity, consumer lifestyle, and product information' increased factors for the fashion curation service preferred image type. Consumer preferences varied according to different fashion curation service image type; however, all consumer group syndicated a difference in fashion curation service actions. For instance, fashion curation service consumers preferred a consumer lifestyle image, convenience, hedonic shopping orientation, and personal expression motivation had a positive influence on product purchase intention. However, the shopping orientation of 'fashion trend, practical information exploration, and entertainment motivation' had an optimistic influence on product purchase intentions for fashion curation service consumers who preferred a brand identity image and a product information image.

  • This study is a literature study that analyzed the research data curation models using activity theory as a theoretical framework. Based on the factors of the activity used in the activity theory, this study analyzed various research data curation models, as well as issues that needed discussion in the library field in carrying out research data curation activities. And based on this, a new research data curation conceptual model was proposed. This study analyzed how the five previously proposed digital curation lifecycle models are configured, and analyzed the actions presented sporadically in each model. A new research data curation conceptual model was proposed by analyzing factors, extracting common factors and integrating them into a new model. In addition, six issues to be considered in carrying out research data curation activities in libraries and repositories were analyzed and discussed. The research data curation conceptual model proposed in this study consists of a total of 10 steps, and it contains practical issues and contradictions to consider at each stage of activity.
