The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of age and gender on Eastern and Western cultural values imbedded in online advertising. This study conducted a survey of 180 men and women ages between 10s and 60s who lived in Seoul, Korea. They responded the acceptance degree of six online advertising emphasized three Korean traditional values and three Modern values. Research hypotheses of this study were the acceptance of cultural values in online advertising is different between ages, but similar between gender. The hypotheses were supported as the previous studies. Findings suggest several theoretical and practical implications that convergence between modern and traditional values is a more important variable to study in the research of online advertising.
As the globalization become the main stream in our world, there is no exception also on the cultural section. And we are En the midst of this rapid transition. In the case of advertising market, we opened to those agencies in abroad in the early year of 1990 and now completely opened. On this thesis, the multinational corporation advertising was studied and researched by empirical case study. The main topic is the value expression in the advertising creativity viewed on the cultural level. The multinational corporations that have an eminent, powerful brands produces much of goods wend widely with their powerful brands and extend their marketing activities to abroad. For example, those non-alcoholic beverages, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics, electronic appliances, vehicles, sports shoes, clothes are their main exports, and they broaden the product category, market size to the global market. They also use an expert marketing skill accumulated for a long time. The advertising activities is one of the useful method to extend their global market abroad enhacing continuously brand value. And much of the multinational corporation's advertising are suspected of negative effects that advertisements works on a tool which curies so called uniformed ideology - various ruling ideology - with commercial messages. These advertising affect an developing country's moral value, life style, social value, and others. And they weaken those developing country's unique tradition, culture by putting their own ideology. Those who have a critical position on the advertising activities have been careful in judging it's effects. The result of this study which of the value system is expressed in the multinational corporation's advertisements are; First, the self - esteem value is classified by western value, and it was founded out much more in the domestic corporation's advertisements then multinational ones. Second, the security value system is classified by western value system, and it's outcome was much the same as former one. Consequently, the multinational corporation's advertisements have less of an western value expression relative to korean advertisements. Those outcomes may infer that the multinational corporations prefer to an compromise creative strategy in korea for avoiding cultural conflicts.

The present study is a discussion in which the flow of 'social and cultural values' inherent in the creative advertising story is considered against Bart's symbolism and the creative symbol system, and attempted to reproduce the work through the cognitive thinking of the inmates. The interaction of correct social and cultural communication is not just a strategy for persuasion and effectiveness. Starting with these issues, I thought that experiencing the 'symbolic production' and 'cognition interpretation' of the most creative, aesthetic and implicit advertising stories was the realization of concrete cultural values. The reason why I pay attention to advertising as a target tool of the original school is that it gives anyone access to the social and cultural values based on the productivity of meaning, the sharing of meaning and social small-call work by paying attention to the most implicit symbols in a short period of time. I also think that with the trend of the times, it is well worth it as a tool of positive communication for social and cultural member harmony and solving future problems. The reality of social and cultural advertising stories conducted in conjunction with the analysis of meaning at the cognitive thought level is very appropriate to apply in creative classes for college students. This study is designed to decode the persuasion strategies in the advertising targeted for children from a semiotic perspective. Semiotic approach to "decoding advertising text" allows us to classify advertising signs and sign systems in relation to the way they are transmitted and communicated. In this strategic process of advertising production, the producers use various "expressive techniques" and "persuasive appeals, premises, and ideology" shared by the members of the society. This study investigates Korean print media advertising for children with the following research questions: ① What types of expression techniques are employed in the print media advertising for children? ② What types of persuasive appeals(consumption values) are used in the print media advertising for children? ③ What are the persuasive premises(cultural premises) underlying those persuasive appeals? ④ What is the structure of ideology that governs those persuasive appeals and premises in the advertising for children? The study result reveals seven most frequently employed expressive techniques, ten major types of persuasive appeals and premises, and the structure of ideology governing the signs and signification systems in the advertising targeted for children.
This study is a cross-cultural study examining whether differences in perceptions of social gender roles in Korea and Uzbekistan have different effects on ad attitudes and product attitudes through the endorsers' gender. In particular, this study was focused on the difference between the facial expression of the endorser and the moderating effect of the ad situation in these relationships. The research results are as follows. First, the difference in the perception of social gender roles was larger in Uzbekistan than in Korea. Second, the influence of gender of endorser on ad attitude was perceived to be higher in Uzbekistan than in Korea. Third, the moderating effect of facial expression(Placid vs. Cold) in the effect of gender of advertising model on advertising attitude was found only in Uzbekistan. Fourth, the moderating effect of the ad situation (Office work vs. Family life) in the relationship between the endorsers' Gender and ad attitude was also found only in Uzbekistan. Fifth, the effect of consumer's ad attitude on product attitude showed a statistically significant positive relationship in both countries. This study reveals that cultural differences in the masculinity (or femininity) dimension between Korea and Uzbekistan are also affecting the effectiveness of ads. Therefore, this study suggests that global marketers should consider not only the existing information source effects such as reliability, professionalism, and attractiveness, but also the gender, facial expression, and ad situation of the endorser according to cultural differences when selecting an ad model.
On the threshold of year 2000, the elderly account for more than 7% of the whole population in Korea, which means that the nation is greeting welcoming an aging society. Accordingly, it is expected that silver businesses and services targeted at the silver generation will prosper with "silver advertising design" becoming active. Under such circumstances, this study was aimed at reviewing the recent silver marketing advertisements in terms of their cultural and moral implications, and thereby, redefining and reestablishing the status of silver consumers to help them find their identity, aware of marketing activities and therewith, establish their "consumer sovereignty". This study consists in large of 5 chapters. The introduction parr describes background, purpose, method and scope of the study. The first chapter reviews the silver marketing theories. The second chapter classifies the silver marketing advertisement positioning of four style - upper classes style, effloresce progress style, self- sufficiency style, dependent style - and reviews the expression strategy of each positioning. The third chapter examines the domestic conditions of silver marketing advertisements for each positioning type classified. The fourth chapter designs the ′creative′of silver marketing advertisements and suggests the methods thereof. The analysis of ′creative′was tested in terms of graphic gestaltung, and how the sliver marketing advertisement positioning should be discerned depending on silver generation consumer′s characteristics was discussed. The fifth chapter puts forwards the suggestions for the ′creative′ strategies to enhance the effects of the silver marketing advertisements, based on the preceding discussions. In addition, the Perspective into the keyword of 21 st century or "silver design" is discussed, together with the limitations of this study. It is hoped that this stuffy will be conducive to our efforts to face the upcoming′age\ulcorner society′more effectively. To this end, this study discusses the "silver advertising design" in light of ′societal concepts′and ′customer-oriented value′, and thus, explores some creative presentation strategies whereby individual companies interests and social or public interests can be compromised through ′creative activities′ and ′equal-value consumerism′ for an ultimately effective management strategies for silver businesses and services.

Modern society had demanded some speedy and bidirectional communication tool in shifting digital era, and resulted from that was a new culture, Now the society changes more and more quickly under the speedy information sharing. From that perspective we need to establish the aspects of sensibility expression, which is one feature of the communication. The sensibility-oriented digital was originated from the human nature, which counts emotion and composure much. To satisfy the human nature a new cultural value which transcend a traditional one is needed. And the sensitivity expression to meet the need is one communication tendency in digital era. Digital era has totally different social qualities from that of analogue era. In digital era, prompt respond to rapid change and creativity combined with sensitivity are needed. Therefore a man with sensitivity would be more outstanding than a man of intelligence. The picture of digital and analogue in our society consists of two axis one is analogue axis like retrospective trend, admiration for nature , oriental thought etc. , and the other is the digital axis of internet and information technology. Sensibility can be widely interpreted as analogue thinking. It is surely different from the plain retrospective trend or nostalgia for past. It is a tendency that digital technology is used and cooperated with the emotion in human nature, In this paper we suggest the sensitivity expressions in detail through the study cases including both sides of digital and sensitivity expressions such as 'Bravo your life' advertising campaign of Samsung Insurance, MP3 advertising campaign, and 'Mini-homepage' of Cyworld. Under the circumstances the main direction of communication is oriented to human. This study's purpose is to think the true meaning of this digital era, to overcoming its weaknesses, such as over-dependency on technique and selfish individualism and to harmonize digital and sensitivity expression. The sensitivity-oriented expression than the reason-oriented one is expected to be put forth in whole media, and this is a more efficient tendency under the shifting digital era.
In contemporary advertising market, one of main trends is to speak surrealistic visual language which provides 'enjoyable spectacles'. Specially, in the beginning of 21st century, there discovered more and more exhibitions and discourses about surrealism reinterpreted from the viewpoint of postmodernism. Surrealism as a creative style of expression based upon free association, has been a great inspiration for fashion ads for commercial communication as well as fashion design since its origin. However, there has been ignored the idea of analyzing surrealistic image expressed in fashion ads in spite of their flood. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to grasp its cultural meaning through analyzing aesthetic characteristics of surrealistic image expressed in fashion ads. It will provide a better understanding of surrealistic image in fashion ads reflecting popular taste and preference directly as popular visual culture, focusing on post modern context. A case study of surrealistic fashion ads limits to TV or print commercials and digital ads as image ads stimulating visual expressions. The Results can be summarized as follows. Surrealism is an avant garde style which deconstructs the established meaning system as well as the existing formalistic order and then put them together in the frame of 'dream' and 'unconsciousness'. Defamiliarization questioning the whole edifice of representation can be adapted to. By means of paradox and metaphor, unfamiliar new visual world can be represented. The plastic characteristics of surrealistic image in fashion ads are founded as surrealistic styling of time and space, distortion of object by methods of automatism, depaysement, parody and trompe-l'oeil which bring about the deconstruction of gestalt. Aesthetic values of surrealistic fashion ads appear as dualistic representation, allegoric symbolism, fantastic romanticism. Ultimately they lead to marvelous. mysterious, humorous visual effects. Foster reinterpreted these effects of surrealism from Freud's 'Uncanny Concept'. 'Uncanny' means the phenomenon recurring to familiar being defamiliarized by repression. Surrealistic fashion ads strengthen this shocking effect more and more dramatically in company with our post modern needs for fantastic adventure and thrilling spectacle. It can be thought that surrealistic fashion ads reflects uncanny as an alternative which can relieve us of our stress and anxiety and which realize our potential desire in contemporary post industrial stage.
Some clauses of the prior review rules for broadcasting commercials, which are enforced by the Broadcasting Act violate the right to free speech guaranteed by the Constitution. The range of prohibited expression under the clauses are too vague and overbroad to distinguish between permissible and impermissible broadcasting commercials. The clauses also fail to pass the constitutional principle that restrict government from excessive regulation on constitutional rights.
