  • The purposes of this study were to examine the fashion adopted by young women in the United States in the 1970s and to explore how the dynamic shifts toward feminist values influenced those fashion trends. Fifteen American women who were college students in the 1970s were interviewed for the study. Throughout the decade, casual and comfortable styles became more prevalent; for example, pants became widely accepted for formal occasions as well as informal occasions due to an overall emphasis on practicality. The feminist and civil rights movements along with more liberal attitudes toward religion were among the more dominant cultural values that influenced the respondents' choices in clothing styles. Feminist presentation was diverse extreme or eclectic - and constantly renegotiating itself. This study helped us better understand the dynamics involved between fashion and value changes as well as the influence of feminism on the 1970s fashion in the United States.

Also, three factors of relationship benefits(economic benefit, social·psychological benefit, and special treatment benefit) had negative effects on customer' switching behavior.

  • This paper aims to investigate a dynamic mechanism underlying the process of knowledge creation and growth with a focus on the 'knowledge-friendly culture' conceptually coined by Davenport and Prusak in 2000. To achieve this objective, key attributes of knowledge are first identified by exploring the generic characteristics and information and interpreting the definitions of knowledge, from which four modes of knowledge growth (Socialization, Externalization, Combination, Internalization) are delineated into a dynamic SECI model by identifying cultural attributes underlying each mode and modeling their casual relationships based on the systems thinking. Further, a series of sensitivity analysis through computer simulation were made to find how 'knowledge-friendly' cultural factors affect the knowledge growth. It is found that individual knowledge is most influenced by organization's cohesion whereas organizational knowledge is most affected by the openness of organization.

  • The investigation was carried out to identify the main pathogen infected with sheath blight in corn plant during 1986-1987. The main fungi of sheath blight isolated from corn plant was identified as Rhizoctonia sobni. Sheath blight in corn plant was first found in early July and infected extremely from late July to end August. Severe sheath blight disease was observed in Gyeongido (Yeoju and Suweon) and Jeonnam (Kwangju) area. The rate of attack was associatied with management and cultural environments of corn plant. Dense planting increased sheath blight, but application of cattle compost reduced the rate of infection. A positive correlation was found between infection rate of shealth blight and concentration of soluble carbohydrate in corn plant (r=0.96). The varieties of Jinjuok, Suweon 83, Suweon 87, Suweon 89, P.3055, P.3160, DK689 and XCG 51 showed remarkable tolerance to sheath blight disease.

Nowadays, the reasons to have different meanings of images are the different ways of representation and reproduction of images by new digital technologies. However, the images are communicating with each other, and the image makers should have responsibility to represent the images. Also, the images should be concerned in social, cultural context, and focused on positive ways to represent. It is hard to predict the future of images, but people shouldn't be controled by manipulated digital images. Therefore, image makers need to have right ethics and morals in digital era not to be controled by commercial enterprises.

  • The vast majority of people value humanity's ability to live in peace and stability. However, there are disparities between the concept of peace and what people experience daily within their community. As a result, before any society can begin to address the difficulties at hand, it must first have a thorough awareness of the socio-cultural-historical identities, ways of life, and value systems that have produced them. When a social community's culture, traditions, and ideals are ignored, members of the society become distrustful of one another. As this mistrust grows, various unfavorable societal occurrences can result. In this study, we will provide a model that has been successful in harmonizing these challenging issues in Gwangju Goryeoin Village in South Korea.
