어닐링한 Cu-Ag 나노복합재 와이어의 미세조직 (Microstructure of Cu-Ag Filamentary Nanocomposite Wires Annealed at Different Temperatures)

  • The microstructure of Cu-24 wt.%Ag filamentary nanocomposite fabricated by a thermo-mechanical process has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations. This study is focused on the stability of Ag filaments formed by cold drawing; the effects of thermal treatment on the precipitation behavior and distribution of Ag-rich precipitates were also investigated. The Ag filaments elongated along the <111> orientation were observed in Cu-rich ${\alpha}$ phase of the as-drawn specimen and the copper matrix and the silver filament have a cube on cube orientation relationship. Annealing at temperatures lower than $200^{\circ}C$ for the as-drawn specimen caused insignificant change of the fibrous morphology but squiggly interfaces or local breaking of the elongated Ag filaments were easily observed with annealing at $300^{\circ}C$. When samples were annealed at $400^{\circ}C$, discontinuous precipitation was observed in supersaturated Cu solid solution. Ag precipitates with a thickness of 7-20 nm were observed along the <112> direction and the orientation relationship between the copper matrix and the Ag precipitates maintained the same orientation relationship in the as-drawn specimen. The interface between the copper matrix and the Ag precipitates is parallel to {111} and micro-twins were observed in the Ag precipitates.

  • 금속-세라믹용 수복물에서 하부 구조물 제작에 사용되는 합금 중 하나인 Pd-Cu-Ga-Zn계 합금은 비교적 최근에 개발된 합금인 이유로 인해 도재 용착을 위한 소성 과정을 거치면서 합금에서 일어날 수 있는 경도 변화가 아직 밝혀지지 않았다. 그러나 이와 조성이 유사한 Pd-Cu-Ga-In-Au계 금속-세라믹용 합금의 경우 모의 소성 과정에서 경도가 하강한 것으로 밝혀져 있다. 따라서 Pd-Cu-Ga-Zn계 합금 또한 소성 과정 중에 합금의 연화가 일어날 것으로 예상되었으며 금속-세라믹용 Pd-Cu-Ga-Zn계 합금의 모의 소성 시 냉각 속도가 석출 경화에 미치는 영향을 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 냉각 속도가 빠른 경우(Stage 0) 매 소성 단계에서 합금의 경도가 상승하였고, 최종 경도 값도 높게 유지되었다. 냉각 속도가 느린 경우(Stage 3) 소성 첫 단계에서는 경도가 가장 높았지만, 소성 완료 후 합금의 최종 경도는 더 낮아졌다. 매 소성 단계에서 Stage 0으로 냉각한 시편에서 소성 과정 동안 경도가 상승한 원인은 석출 경화에 기인하였다. 주조 후 매 소성 단계에서 Stage 3의 냉각 속도로 냉각한 시편에서 소성 과정 동안 경도가 하강한 원인은 기지와 판상형 석출물 내부에 생성된 점 모양의 석출물의 조대화에 기인하였다. 기지와 판상형 석출물은 CsCl-type의 $Pd_2(Cu,Ga,Zn)$ 상이며, 입자형 구조는 Cu, Ga, Zn을 고용한 면심입방(face-centered cubic) 구조의 Pd-rich ${\alpha}$ 상이었다. $1,010^{\circ}C$에서 산화처리 한 시편을 더 낮은 온도에서 여러 단계로 소성함에 따라 Pd-rich ${\alpha}$ 상으로 이루어진 입자에 고용되어 있던 Cu, Ga, Zn이 Pd와 함께 석출되어 Pd-rich ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ 입자와 $Pd_2(Cu,Ga,Zn)$으로 이루어진 ${\beta}^{\prime}$ 석출 상으로 상 분리가 진행되었다. 이상으로부터 Pd-Cu-Ga-Zn계 합금은 모의 소성 시 냉각 속도를 빠르게 함으로써 최종 보철물의 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있다고 생각되었다.

동래 납석광산 산성 광석배수의 중화실험: 중금속의 거동 특성 규명 (Neutralization of Acid Rock Drainage from the Dongrae Pyrophyllite Deposit: A Study on Behavior of Heavy Metals)

  • 동래 납석광산 지역의 산성광석배수(ARD)에 의해 오염된 동래천의 공간적 화학조성 변화와 중금속의 제거 과정을 중화실험을 통하여 조사하였다. 광산에 인접한 동래천은 강산성(pH 3.0~4.2)이며 많은 양의 Al. Fe, $SO_4$및 중금속(Pb, Cu, Zn, Cd)을 포함하고 있다. 동래천의 화학조성은 산성배수의 침출지에서부터 수영강과의 합류지점까지 체계적으로 변화한다. 즉, 동래천으로 유입되는 침출수는 Al과 Fe가 풍부하나 하류로 갈수록 Al이 풍부한 조성으로 변한다. 침출수(pH 2.3)는 오염되지 않은 동래천(pH 6.5)과 소규모의 지류(pH 6.2)와 혼합되면서 pH가 최대 4.2까지 증가한다. 이러한 낮은 pH 범위(<4.2)에서는 거의 모든 Fe가 침전되나 Al은 대부분 용존상태로 남게 되어 하류로 갈수록 A띠 풍부한 조성으로 변화하게 된다. 한편, Al이 풍부한 하류의 지표수는 유량이 큰 수영강(pH 6.9)과 혼합되면서 pH가 증가(5.7)하여 흰색의 Al 침전물을 형성시킨다. 침출수를 대상으로 한 중화실험 결과. pH 3.5 이하에서 Fe침전물이, pH 4~6범위에서 Al 침전물이, 그리고 pH 6.0이상에서 Mn침전물이 형성되었다. pH의 증가에 따른 이러한 Fe, Al 및 Mn의 단계적인 침전은 실제 동래천에서 관찰되는 침전물의 형성과 잘 일치하고 있다. 또한 pH 증가에 따른 Fe및 Ai침전물에 의한 중금속의 흡착순서는 Pb>Cu>Cd$\geq$Zn이었으며, 50%의 흡착을 보이는 pH의 값($pH_{50}$은 Pb 3.2, Cu 4.5, Cd 5.2 및 Zn 5.8이었다. 이와 비교하기 위해서, Al이 풍부한 하류의 지표수를 대상으로 한 중화실험 결과, $pH_{50}$의 값은 Pb 4.5, Cu 5.8, Cd 7.4 및 Zn 7.0으로서 침출수에 비해 높은 값을 보였다. 이와 같은 결과로부터, 광산배수에서의 중금속의 제거는 pH의 변화뿐 만 아니라 하천수의 Fe 및 Al의 상대적인 양에 따라 결정됨을 알 수 있다.

  • The formation mechanism of microconstituents in brazed joints of duplex stainless steel and Cr-Cu alloy which is an essential process of rocket engine manufacturing was investigated using Cu base insert metal. $SUS329J_3L$ and C18200 were used for base metal and AMS 4764 was used for insert metal. The brazing was carried out under various conditions. There were various phases in the joints, because of reaction between liquid insert metal and base metals. Since liquid insert metal reacts with duplex stainless steel, liquid Cu from insert metal infiltrated into the $\alpha/\beta$ interface of duplex stainless steel. Through the process of Cu infiltration, isolated stainless steel pieces come into the liquid insert metal. Since liquid insert metal reacts with Cr-Cu alloy. Cr precipitates from C18200 come into the liquid insert metal. With increment of bonding temperature and holding time, amounts and sizes of phases increased. but Cr-Mn compounds decreased at 1303k for 1.2ks and Mn-rich phases disappeared Fe-Cr compounds formed.

  • The age-hardening behavior and the structural changes in a commercial dental Au-Ag-Cu-Pd alloy were investigated by means of hardness test, optical and scanning electron microscopic observation, energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction study. The drastic reduction in hardness by prolonged aging occurred after a rapid increase in hardness at the initial stage by the isothermal aging at $350^{\circ}C$. This softening was due to the broad precipitates formation of the lamellar structure which was composed of the f.c.t. AuCu I ordered f.c.t. phase containing Pd and the f.c.c. Ag-rich $\alpha$1 solid solution f.c.c.phase containing Au.

동-스테인리스강 브레이징 접합부의 계면 조직과 접합 강도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Interfacial Structure and Shear Strength of Cu/Stainless Steel Brazed Joint)

  • In this experiment, to find optimum brazing conditions for Cu/Stainless Steel brazing using filler metals of Ag-Cu-Zn-Cd system, first of all spreading ratio was tested on 304 stainless Steel and low carbon steel. And then shear test of brazed joint was executed. As the result of that, the shear strengths of brazed joints were the range of 60-90 MPa. Through microstructure analysis for brazed interface layer, We found as follows. Firstly interface layer increased as time increased. Secondly continuous layer of Ag-Cd compound was observed along the side of stainless steel. Also by means of EDS analysis for fracture surface, ductile fracture was occurred and precipitates on the fracture surface were found to include Cr, Mn, Si in Ag-rich phase.

  • In this study, Cu-10Sn and Cu-10Sn-2Ni-0.2Si alloys have been manufactured by spray casting in order to achieve a fine scale microstructure and high tensile strength, and investigated in terms of microstructural evolution, aging characteristics and tensile properties. Spray cast alloys had a much lower microhardness than continuous cast billet because of an improved homogenization and an extended Sn solid solubility. Spray cast Cu-Sn-Ni-Si alloy was characterized by an equiaxed grain microstructure with a small-sized (Ni, Si)-rich precipitates. Cold rolling of Cu-Sn-Ni-Si alloy increased a tensile strength to 1220 MPa, but subsequent ageing treatment reduced a ultimate tensile strength to 780 MPa with an elongation of 18%.

Cu 첨가에 따른 SKD11의 기계적, 열적 특성 변화 (Effect of Copper Addition on Mechanical and Thermal Properties of SKD11 Stainless Steel)

  • Cu-added SKD11 was manufactured through the casting process and the effects of Cu addition with different contents (0, 1, 2 and 3 wt%) and aging treatment on microstructure, mechanical characteristics such as tensile strength and hardness, and thermal conductivity were investigated. The microstructure was analyzed by FE-SEM and XRD, the mechanical characteristics by Rockwell hardness tester and Tensile tester, and the thermal conductivity by Laser flash. As a result, SKD11 containing Cu had higher hardness than as-received SKD11. The hardness of as-cast SKD11 containing 1 wt% Cu was 42.4 HRC, whereas the hardness of asreceived SKD11 cast alloy was 19.5 HRC, indicating that the hardness was greatly improved when Cu was added. In the case of tensile strength, Cu-added SKD11 cast alloy had lower tensile strength than as-received SKD11, and the tensile strength tended to increase as Cu content increased. After heat treatment, however, tensile strength of as-received SKD11 was significantly increased, whereas in the case of Cu-added SKD11, as the Cu contents increased, the tensile strength increased less and even reduced at 3 wt% Cu. The thermal conductivity of Cu-added SKD11 cast alloy was about 13 W m-1 K-1, which was lower than that of the asreceived SKD11 cast alloy (28 W m-1 K-1). After the heat treatment, however, the thermal conductivity of as-received SKD11 was reduced, while the thermal conductivity of the SKD11 added with Cu was increased. Thermal conductivity was generally larger with less Cu content, and this tendency became more pronounced after heat treatment.

치과용 합금 주조 시의 소환온도와 주조 후 냉각방법이 미세조직과 부식거동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Burn-out Temperature and Cooling Rate on the Microstructure and Corrosion Behavior of Dental Casting Gold Alloy)

  • The microstructure and corrosion behavior of commercially dental casting gold alloys were investigated to clarify the effect of burn-out temperature and cooling rate. In the case of water quenching after casting, only the αphase, which is typical dendritic microstructure of golda alloy, was detected. However, the precipitates along the grain boundary were detected only at the slow cooling rate and they increased inversely proportional to the burn-out temperature. This might be due to the time difference which solute atom could diffuse. EPMA and SEM results also demonstrated that the precipitate should be lamellar structure consisted of Ag rich phase(${\alpha}_1$) and Cu rich phase (${\alpha}_2$). In terms of corrosion, the galvanic coupling was formed due to the difference of composition between precipitates and matrix at the slow cooling rate. In the case of water quenching, the critical current density($i_p$) which indicate the degree of corrosion was lowest at $650^{\circ}C$ and below the burnout temperature, $i_p$ increased with it because of the effect of grain boundary segregation. But above the temperature, $i_p$ increased with it. This may be due to the strain field effect by residual thermal stress.

  • The distribution of the second phase, the change of transformation temperature and mechanical properties with thermomechanical treatment conditions were investigated by metallography, calorimetry, EDS, tensile test and fractography in a Cu-Al-Ni-Ti-Mn alloy. The cast structure revealed Ti-rich precipitates($X_L$ phase) between dendrite arms, which have been identified as $(Cu,Ni)_2TiAl$ intermetallic compounds. By homogenizing above $900^{\circ}C$, the $X_L$ phase was melted in the matrix, while the Xs phase was precipitated in matrix and the volume fraction of it was increased. When hot-rolled specimen was betatized below $750^{\circ}C$, recrystallization could not be observed. However, the specimen betatized above $800^{\circ}C$ was recrystallized and the grain size was about $50{\mu}m$, while Xs phase was precipitated in matrix. With raising betatizing temperature, $M_s$ and $A_s$ temperatures were fallen and transformation hysteresis became larger. The strain of the specimen betatized at $800^{\circ}C$ was 8.2% as maximum value. The maximum shape recovery rate could be obtained in the specimen betatized at $800^{\circ}C$ but it was decreased due to the presence of Xs phase with increasing betatizing temperature.
