The aim of this work was to investigate the characterization and sequence of catechol 2,3-dioxygenase isolated from Delfia sp. JK-2, which could utilize aniline as sole carbon, nitrogen and energy source. In initial experiments, several characteristics of C2,3O separated with ammonium sulfate precipitation, DEAE-sepharose were investigated. Specific activity of C2,3O was approximately 4.72 unit/mg. C2,3O demonstrated its enzyme activity to other substrates, catechol and 4-methylcatechol. The optimum temperature of C2,3O was $$Cu^{2+}$^{\circ}C$, and the optimal pH was approximately 8. Metal ions such as $Ag^{+}$, $Hg^{+}$, and $Cu^{2+}$ showed inhibitory effect on the activity of C2,3O. Molecular weight of the enzyme was determined to approximately 35 kDa by SDS-PAGE. N-terminal amino acid sequence of C2,3O was analyzed as $^{1}MGVMRIG-HASLKVMDMDA- AVRHYENV^{26}$, and exhibited high sequence homology with that of C2,30 from Pseudomonas sp. AW-2, Comamonas sp. JS765, Comamonas testosteroni and Burkholderia sp. RPO07. PCR product was amplified with the primers derived from N-terminal amino acid sequence. In this work, we found that the amino acid sequence of Delftia sp. JK-2 showed high sequence homology of C2,3O from Pseudomonas sp. AW-2 (100%) and Comamonas sp. JS765 (97%).
Carbon nanotubes (CNT) have been attracted much attention since they have been expected to be used in various areas by virtue of their outstanding physical, electrical, and chemical properties. In order to make full use of their prominent electric conductivity in some areas such as electron emission sources, device interconnects, and electrodes in energy storage devices, direct growth of CNT with vertical alignment is definitely beneficial issue because they can maintain mechanical stability and high conductivity at the interface between substrates. Here, we report direct growth of vertically aligned CNT (VCNT) on Cu foils using thermal chemical vapor deposition and characterize the field emission property of the VCNT. The VCNT's height was controlled by changing the growth temperature, growth time, and catalytic layer thickness. Optimum growth condition was found to be $800^{\circ}C$ for 20 min with acetylene and hydrogen mixtures on Fe catalytic layer of 1 nm thick. The diameter of VCNT grown was smaller than that of usual multi walled CNT. Based on the result of field emission characterization, we concluded that the VCNT on Cu foils can be useful in various potential applications where high conductivity through the interface between CNT and substrate is required.

Electronic devices have been evolved to be mechanically flexible that can be endured repetitive deformation. This evolution emphasizes the importance of long-term reliability in metal wiring connecting electronic components, especially under bending fatigue in compressed environments. This study investigated methods to enhance adhesion between copper (Cu) and polyimide (PI) substrates, aiming to improve the reliability of copper wiring under such conditions. We applied oxygen plasma treatment and introduced a chromium (Cr) adhesion layer to the polyimide substrate. Our findings revealed that these adhesion enhancement methods significantly affect compression fatigue behavior. Notably, the chromium adhesion layer, while showing weaker fatigue characteristics at 1.5% strain, demonstrated superior performance at 2.0% strain with no delamination, outperforming other methods. These results offer valuable insights for improving the reliability of flexible electronic devices, including reducing crack occurrence and enhancing fatigue resistance in their typical usage environments.

In the present paper enzymatic properties of the trypsins from the four dark fleshed fish were compared with each other and thermal stabilities of the enzymes were also investigated. The trypsins from the dark fleshed fish showed their activity only in BA-p-NA substrate of the amide substrates such as BA-p-NA and SP-p-NA, and BAEE and TAME of the ester substrate such as ATEE, BAEE, BTEE, and TAME. The enzymes were strongly inhibited by the serine protease inhibitors such as antipain, leupeptin, TLCK, DFP and SBTI, and were also inhibited by such metal ions as Cu$^{2+}$ and Hg$^{2+}$, but fairly activated by $Mg^{2+}$. Denaturation constants of the enzymes were 13.4$\times$10$^{-4}$ sec$^{-1}$ for anchovy trypsin, 47.18$\times$10$^{-4}$ sec$^{-1}$ for mackerel trypsin A, 34.06$\times$10$^{-4}$ sec$^{-1}$ mackerel trypsin B, 42.28$\times$10$^{-4}$ sec$^{-1}$ for yellowfin tuna trypsin and 16.6$\times$10$^{-4}$ sec$^{-1}$ for albacore trypsin at 55$^{\circ}C$. The activation energies of the trypsins at a temperature range of 3$0^{\circ}C$ to 5$0^{\circ}C$ were estimated to be 13.91 ㎉/mole for anchovy trypsin, 11.61㎉/mo1e and 8.43㎉/mole for mackerel trypsin A and for mackerel typsin B, 4.35㎉/mole for yellowfin tuna trypsin, and 3.76㎉/mole for albacore trypsin.
Inulin fructotransferase from Enterobacter sp. S45 was purified with DEAE-cellulose column chromatography and fast protein liquid chromatography. The purified enzyme gave a single band on polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The molecular weight was estimated to be 42,800 by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The optimal pH and temperature for the enzyme reaction were pH 5.5 and $55^{\circ}C$, respectively. $Mg^{2+}$ activated the enzyme activity, but $Fe^{3+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Hg^{2+}$ significantly inhibited. After exhaustive digestion of inulin by the enzyme, DFA III, sucrose, 1-kestose and nystose were produced. Sucrose, 1-kestose, raffinose and melezitose can't be used as substrates by the enzyme, but nystose and 1-F-fructofuranosyl nystose were hydrolysed. The Km and Vmax for inulin of the enzyme were 1.4 mM and $0.196\;{\mu}mole/min$, respectively.
In this paper, the magnetic properties and the annealing behavior of spin valve structures with Mo(MoN) underlayers were studied for various underlayer thickness. The spin valve structure was Si substrate/Mo(MoN)$(t{\AA})/NiFe(21{\AA})/CoFe(28{\AA})/Cu(22{\AA})/CoFe(18{\AA})/IrMn(65{\AA})/Ta(25 {\AA})$. Mo and MoN films were deposited on Si substrates and their thermal annealing behavior was analyzed. The deposition rate of the MoN thin film was decreased and tile resistivity of the MoN thin films were increased as the $N_2$ gas flow was increased. The variations of MR ratio and magnetic exchange coupling field of spin valve structure were smaller with MoN underlayers than that with Mo underlayers up to thickness of $51{\AA}$. MR ratio of spin valves with Mo underlayers was 2.86% at room temperature and increased up to 2.91 % after annealing at $200^{\circ}C$. Upon annealing at $300^{\circ}C$, the MR ratio decreased about 2.16%. The MR ratio of spin valves structure with MoN underlayers for $N_2$ gas flow 1 sccm was 5.27% at room temperature and increased up to 5.56% after annealing at $200^{\circ}C$. Upon annealing at $300^{\circ}C$, the MR ratio decreased about 4.9%.
The cellulase components were partially purified from the culture filtrate of the alkalophilic bacterium Pseudomonas sp. AC-711 and its enzymatic properties were characterized. The specific activity of the purified major enzyme component was 3.5 units/mg protein as carboxymethyl cellulase and the yield was 23% of the total activity of the culture broth. The molecular weight of the component was 46,000 and the Km and Vmax on CMC were determined as $15.4mg\;mL^{-1}$ and $4.17{\mu}moles\;mL^{-1}\;min^{-1}$, respectively. The enzyme was stable at the temperatures below $60^{\circ}C$ and at the pH range of 4.0~11.0, and the optimal temperature and pH were $60^{\circ}C$ and pH 8.0, respectively. The enzyme activity was not significantly affected by the common surfactants (concentration: 0.05%) such as ${\alpha}$-olefin sulfonate, linear alkylbenzene sulfonate, sodium dodecyl sulfonate, hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide and Tween 80. The enzyme was activated by the metal ions such as $Ca^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$, whereas inhibited by $Hg^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$. The enzyme exhibited relatively high activity toward amorphous CMC as compared with crystalline substrates such as filter paper and avicel.
${\alpha}-galactosidase$ releases galactoside from raffinose and stachyose which are the major sugars in soybean, Although raffinose and stachyose were known as flatulence factors, these sugars were recently claimed as bifidus factors. In this experiment we studied the properties of ${\alpha}-galactosidase$ and its production from Bifidobacterium sp. Int-57. Int-57 produced higher level of ${\alpha}-galactosidase$ than other intestinal bacteria. The production of ${\alpha}-galactosidase$ was greater when grown on raffinose compared with other carbohydrates tested. Partially purified ${\alpha}-galactosidase$ was obtained after sonication of harvested cell pellet followed by DEAE-cellulose chromatography and Sepharose CL-6B gel filtration, and assayed using PNP-${\alpha}-galactosidase$ as a substrate. Optimum pH for activity was 7.0 and optimum temperature was $40^{\circ}C$. At 5 mM concentration of metal ions, $CoCl_{2}\;and\;CuCl_{2}$ and inhibited the enzyme activity by 33% and 21% respectively. The enzyme was shown to hydrolyse genuine substrates, i.e. raffinose and stachyose.
Top spin valve films with PtMn antiferromagnetic layers were deposited using a multi-target dc magnetron sputtering in (100)Si substrates overcoated with 500 $\AA$ of Al$_2$O$_3$. Firstly, the post-deposition annealing was performed at 270$\^{C}$ in a unidirectional magnetic field of 3 kOe to induce the crystallographic transformation of the PtMn layer from a fcc (111) to a fct (111) structure. Secondly, the spin valve films were annealed without magnetic fields and magnetic properties were measured. In Si/A1$_2$O$_3$ (500$\AA$)/Ta(50$\AA$)NiFe(40$\AA$)/CoFe(17$\AA$)/Cu(28$\AA$)/CoFe (30$\AA$)PtMn(200$\AA$)Ta(50$\AA$) top spin valve samples, the MR ratio decreased slowly with increasing annealing temperature up to 325$\^{C}$. But above 325$\^{C}$, the MR ratio decreased rapidly to 1%, due to a collapse of the exchange coupling between a antiferromagnetic layer and a pinned layer with increasing annealing temperature. Also above 325$\^{C}$, the exchange biased field rapidly decreased and the interlayer coupling field rapidly increased with increasing annealing temperature. A change in the interlayer coupling field was resulted from the increase in interface roughness due to Mn-interdiffusion through the grain boundaries. We confirmed the temperature in changing magnetic properties agreed well with the blocking temperature of PtMn based spin valve structure.

최적의 증착 조건에서 $Y_2O_3$ (222) ${\Phi}-scan$의 full width at half maximum (fwhm)이 $11^{\circ}$이고 (400) ${\omega}-scan$ fwhm은 $6^{\circ}$이었다.
