Currently, photodetectors are being extensively studied and developed for next-generation applications, such as in autonomous vehicles and image sensors. In this regard, all-inorganic metal halide perovskite (CsPbX3; X = Cl, Br, and I) nanocrystals (NCs) have emerged as promising building blocks for various applications owing to their high absorption coefficients, tunable bandgaps, high defect tolerances, and solution processability. These features, which are typically required for the development of advanced optoelectronics, can be engineered by modifying the chemical compositions and surface chemistry of the NCs. Herein, we briefly review various strategies adopted for the application of CsPbX3 perovskite NCs in photodetectors and for improving device performance. First, modifications of the chemical compositions of CsPbX3 NCs to tune their optical bandgaps and improve the charge-transport mechanism are discussed. Second, the application of surface chemistry to improve oxidation resistance and carrier mobility is described. In the future, perovskite NCs with prospective features, such as non-toxicity and high resistance to external stimuli, are expected to be developed for practical applications.
Metal halide perovskites are promising photovoltaic materials, but they still have some issues that need to be solved. Hysteresis is a phenomenon that strongly is correlated with ion migration; thus, a fast, easy, and low-temperature method for measuring ion migration is required. Through selective blocking, ion migration can be measured separately, apart from electron migration. In this study, ion migration in metal halide perovskites was measured using a vertical device. At different temperatures, ionic activation energies were obtained for a range of perovskite compositions such as MAPbI3, FAPbI3, CsPbI3, and MAPbBr3. By comparing the measured ionic activation energies with the theoretical values, we conclude that among other possibilities, I- is the migrating ion in MAPbI3, FAPbI3, CsPbI3, and Br- is the migrating in MAPbBr3.
Using the different procedures suggested by the recognized organizations including IAEA, FDA, WHO and CED, derived Intervention levels (DILs) against contamination of foodstuffs were evaluated for considerations in radiological emergency planning in Korea. Three radionuclides important in terms of the consequence due to accidents at a nuclear power plant, i.e., $^{137}Cs,\;^{90}Sr$ and $^{131}I$, were considered. Intervention level for dose based on new recommendation of the ICRP (ICRP-60) was applied. The DILs tot the same foodstuff differ by up to afactor of 10. In most cases, the DILs based on FDA and WHO approaches were more conservative than those based on IAEA and CEC approaches. A critical age group for milk was infant of 3 month for all radionuclides. In most foods except milk, a critical age group was adult, 15yr and 5yr for $^{137}Cs,\;^{90}Sr$ and $^{131}I$, respectively.
In this study, we have investigated the removal of the low level radioactive ions of Cs and I in water by the reverse osmosis (RO) process. The two RO modules produced in domestic region and the waste RO module after the cleaning process were selected. Then we compared removal performance of both Cs and I. The experiments are conducted by varying the concentration of feed, the pressure. As a results, it was confirmed that all three modules are higher I decontamination factor than Cs. And particularly, for the cleaned RO module, its decontamination factor of I was 1140. Since the results at low pressure condition were better than that at high pressure conditions, the use of the direct installation of RO modules on the tap water might be possible. In addition, it was confirmed that the waste RO module after cleaning process using EDTA, SBS and NaOH, increased the decontamination performance better than before cleaning, in particular, the recovery ratio after cleaning was 6.3% higher.

Previous studies to elucidate the etiology of cyclosporine(Cs)-induced gingival overgrowth in children have not completely excluded all factors that may cause differences among individuals. This study examined the effect of cyclosporine on the metabolism of type 1 collagen(CoL-I) in experimental models that controlled the effects of biological variations on individuals. Five 5-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were administered Cs by gastric feeding for 6 weeks. Gingival specimens were harvested from the mandibular posterior area before beginning Cs administration and at 2, 4, and 6 weeks thereafter. Gingival fibroblasts were cultured from all the 20 biopsies collected from the gingiva. Half of the fibroblasts collected prior to the Cs administration were designated as Control. The other half of the fibroblasts were treated with Cs in vitro and called in vitro test group(Tt). The fibroblasts collected 2, 4, and 6 weeks after the Cs administration were called in vivo test groups : T2, T4, T6, respectively. Immunofluorescence microscopy was used to detect CoL-I in all the fibroblasts. CoL-I was analyzed at both the gene and protein expression levels by real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blotting. Changes in CoL-I before and after Cs treatment were evaluated from the gingiva of each rat. There was no significant difference in gene expression of CoL-I in the control and test groups. CoL-I protein expression levels of fibroblasts increased in in vitro Cs treatment for each individual, and also increased in in vivo Cs treatment. In this study, the experimental method that control biological variations that can occur due to differences among individuals was useful. Subsequent studies on other factors besides CoL-I and in-depth studies in humans are needed.

석탄화력발전소 폐기물인 석탄회와 요오드화 세슘의 반응특성을 DTA(Differential Thermal Analysis), TGA(Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis) 장치를 이용하여 분석하였다.

NuDE 2.0 (Nuclear Development Environment 2.0) is a formal-method-based software development, verification and safety analysis environment for safety-critical digital I&Cs implemented with programmable logic controller (PLC) and field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It simultaneously develops PLC/FPGA software implementations from one requirement/design specification and also helps most of the development, verification, and safety analysis to be performed mechanically and in sequence. The NuDE 2.0 now consists of 25 CASE tools and also includes an in-depth solution for indirect commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software dedication of new FPGA-based digital I&Cs. We expect that the NuDE 2.0 will be widely used as a means of diversifying software design/implementation and model-based software development methodology.

Purpose: Collagen is the principal structural biomolecule in cartilage extracellular matrix, which makes it a logical target for cartilage engineering. In this study, porous type I collagen scaffolds were cross-linked using dehydrothermal(DHT) treatment and/or 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethyl aminopropyl) carbodiimide(EDC), in the presence and absence of chondroitin-6-sulfate(CS) for cartilage regeneration. Methods: Cartilage defects were created in the proximal part of the ear of New Zealand rabbits. Four types of scaffolds(n=4) were inserted. The types included DHT cross-linked(Group 1), DHT and EDC cross- linked(Group 2), CS added DHT cross-linked(Group 3), and CS added DHT and EDC cross-linked(Group 4). Histomorphometric analysis and cartilage-specific gene expression of the reconstructed tissues were evaluated respectively 4, 8, and 12 weeks after implantation. Results: The largest quantity of regenerated cartilage was found in DHT cross-linked groups 1 and 3 in the 8th week and then decreased in the 12th week, while calcification increased. Calcification was observed from the 8th week and the area increased in the 12th week. Group 4 was treated with EDC cross-linking and CS, and the matrix did not degrade in the 12th week. Cartilage-specific type II collagen mRNA expression increased with time in all groups. Conclusion: CS did not increase chondrogenesis in all groups. EDC cross-linking may prevent chondrocyte infiltration from the perichondrium into the collagen scaffold.
