  • This paper is a methodological research aimed at developing a mental disorder recovery scale (MDRS) and testing its validity and reliability. After three sessions of factor analysis, a total of three factors using an Eigen value of 1.0 or more were drawn. The explanatory power was found to be 58.1%. All the items met the criteria for communality and factor loading with no item removed, and, ultimately, 25 items were selected. Criterion-related validity test showed that Pearson's correlation coefficient was significant at .71 (p<.01) with significant correlation with each factor (p<.01). The reliability test showed that Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient was .95 and that Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient for each factor ranged from .87 to .93. MDRS, which was developed in this study and possessing 3 factors and 25 items, had both its validity and reliability confirmed; therefore, the developed scale would be useful to evaluate the recovery of individuals with mental disorder.

  • This study was performed on 171 workers in the Kyungbuk Kumi industrial complex to verify the validity and the reliability of the Korean version of the constitutions in a Chinese medicine questionnaire. Each subjective fulfilled a questionnaire of 61 questions in 9 categories based on a self-assessment. All categories and each constitution's internal consistency were analyzed using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient to review the questionnaire's reliability, and factor analysis and correlation analysis were performed to review the validity. The reliability was satisfied with Cronbach's alpha coefficient for all categories and each constitution's internal consistency ranged from 0.601 to 0.925, and the validity was verified by factor analysis, which showed the same two factors of each constitution. Correlation analysis of each constitution showed statistical significance and strong positive correlations among 8 constitutions except for the gentleness type (P=0.0127). As a result, it is believed that the Korean version of the constitutions in Chinese medicine questionnaire can be useful for diagnosing the constitutions of Koreans.

  • The most common method in the psychological measuring method for measuring user's emotions is to indirectly measure the user's emotion by using adjectives, called emotional words. The previous research, in order to observe user's emotional changes while they interact with a product, has extracted some emotional words and representative emotions, and made a set of subjective evaluation scale. In addition to adjective checklists, self-report questionnaire-type scales have been extensively used to assess user's emotions. This research suggested a self-report questionnaire-type scale using the representative emotions and a set of subjective evaluation scale made in the previous research. Also the reliability of the suggested self-report questionnaire-type scale was confirmed through the analysis of Cronbach's coefficient alpha. Therefore, the self-report questionnaire-type scale extracted through this research can be used in various ways to measure a user's user's emotions naturally expressed while using a product.
