Application of artificial neural network for the critical flow prediction of discharge nozzle

  • System thermal-hydraulic (STH) code is adopted for nuclear safety analysis. The critical flow model (CFM) is significant for the accuracy of STH simulation. To overcome the defects of current CFMs (low precision or long calculation time), a CFM based on a genetic neural network (GNN) has been developed in this work. To build a powerful model, besides the critical mass flux, the critical pressure and critical quality were also considered in this model, which was seldom considered before. Comparing with the traditional homogeneous equilibrium model (HEM) and the Moody model, the GNN model can predict the critical mass flux with a higher accuracy (approximately 80% of results are within the ±20% error limit); comparing with the Leung model and the Shannak model for critical pressure prediction, the GNN model achieved the best results (more than 80% prediction results within the ±20% error limit). For the critical quality, similar precision is achieved. The GNN-based CFM in this work is meaningful for the STH code CFM development.

  • In this paper, we propose a critical banded wavelet packet-based spectral subtraction for speech enhancement. Critical banded wavelet packet, which reflects the human auditory system, may lead to minimization of intelligibility loss and quality improvement of the enhanced speech in the spectral domain, when combined with an appropriate spectral subtraction gain function. The proposed method shows better performance than the conventional one in comparative assessments. We also show that, for effective evaluation of enhanced speech, it is essential to consider the characteristics of speech quality measures.

The objective of this paper is to offer classification & optimum concept of quality-cost and to illustrate a method of evaluation quality-cost then a case example is presented to illustrate the result of quantifying the suggested formula and these values are given to justify of management.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the detailed customer satisfaction and dissatisfaction factors of family restaurants in Korea, and to then classify the factors into 3 groups, inlcuding core service, quality service, and basic service. ‘Core service’ represents the critical factors that generate both satisfaction and dissatisfaction; ‘quality service’ generates only satisfaction; and ‘basic service’ generates only dissatisfaction. This categorization is based on Herzberg’s motivation-hygiene theory (1976) as well as Cadotte & Turgeon (1988). Based on the characteristics of the three groups, differentiation strategies in managing customer service were suggested to the family restaurant managers. A qualitative research method, termed the critical incident technique (CIT), was used in the study. This method helps researchers find new factors or attributes by grouping key issues from the anecdotes (critical incidents) and then categorizing common factors from the key issues. This research categorized key satisfiers and dissatisfiers into 33 factors, which were from 402 critical incidents described by 261 respondents. Eleven factors (response to service failures, food taste and quality, attention paid to customers, coupon/mileage point/discount card, customer’s ordinary requests, waiting, food diversity, food price, facility sanitation, checking out, customer’s special requests) were classified into core service, which required maximum management not regarding the level of customer satisfaction. Six factors (employee attitude, event, education and explanation, complementary food, customer’s mistakes, attention paid to children) were classified into quality service, which required differentiation strategy management. Finally, nine factors (speed of food service, employee’s mistakes, food sanitation, atmosphere and interior, seating, forcing orders, parking, other customers, reservations) were classified into basic service, which required minimum management at the level of the industry standards.

당뇨병 표준진료지침 적용 효과에 관한 연구 (Effect of Critical Pathway on Diabetes Mellitus)

  • Background : The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the critical pathway to diabetic patients who were admitted in the hospital. Methods : For establishment of critical pathway for diabetic patients, we organized the multidisciplinary care team. During 5 months, 31 diabetic inpatients were applied the critical pathway and the results were compared with 11 diabetic inpatients who were treated with conventional way. We assessed the patients satisfaction, knowledge on the disease, compliance of medical regimen, length of stay(LOS) and hospital cost. We used the computer program SAS for statistical analysis. Data were summarized with mean, and analyzed using t-test repeated measures ANOVA and Wilcoxon rank sum test. Results : Length of stay(LOS) was remarkably shortened in critical pathway group compared with the conventional treatment group($7.6{\pm}1.23$ vs $12.0{\pm}4.73$, p<0.000). Although LOS was significantly shortened in critical pathway group, patients satisfaction was much higher than conventional treatment group. There were no significant difference of knowledge on the disease, compliance of medical regimen and blood glucose level between two groups at discharge. Hospital cost of each patients also significantly decreased in critical pathway group(890,000 won vs 1,280,000 won, p<0.05). Conclusion : These results showed that establishment of critical pathway for diabetic inpatients with team approach is the one of the way to improve the quality of diabetic patients management and to enhance the efficiency of hospital management.

  • This study sets a purpose to realize what top managements in companies think as critical success factors of QM, using CSF(Critical Success Factors) method. The methodology of this study consists of literature research and empirical analysis using data collected from interviewing and questionnaire. Medium and small sized manufacturing companies are the subject of this study. Following CSFs of QM are found. (1)Management philosophy of attaching great importance to customer and customer satisfaction. (2)Creation of atmosphere that attach great importance to technology. (3)Philosophy of honesty and faithfulness. (4)Positive thinking and creation of atmosphere that help with each other. (5)Rearmament of entrepreneur spirit. (6)Need on recognition of partnership between labor and management. (7)Participation and will of top management. (8)Principle of Participation of entire members.   • This research analyzed about inconsistence and cause of the audit result on national defense quality management system in certification company. Direction of research analyzes corelation with distribution by items at national defense quality management system standard by Investigated number and occurrence of examination report slight and critical incongruity on 2008 and 2009. Study finding slight and critical incongruity happened to first examination average 10.2 items, renewal examination average 7.0 items. By incongruity occurrence appeared high in item that there are a lot of examination item shares of standard requirement, it was studied by correlative thing between the examination with standard. Factor of incongruity occurrence was proved to comprehension insufficiency for quality management system, quality procedure insufficiency, didn't fulfil proceedings, business was unripe. In this papers, we contribute to propose direction for improvement of national defense quality management system comprehensive faculty elevation and national defense quality certification in this treatise.

  • A novel quantified method based on requirement analysis of image quality to improve display image quality was proposed. Nowadays, the image quality was limited by the poor understanding of the image quality requirement, which led to the critical factors of image quality could not be controlled during display development. Our method was set up to resolve this problem by clarifying the relationship between the image quality level and the effect factors in image processing. Moreover, the subjective factors were eliminated extremely by the image quality quantification. The method was applied in the RPTV development life cycle and its efficiency was demonstrated.

중환자실 퇴원환자의 집중치료 후 증후군과 삶의 질 (Post-intensive Care Syndrome and Quality of Life in Survivors of Critical Illness)

  • Purpose: To investigate the post-intensive care syndrome (PICS) and to analyze the factors affecting the quality of life (QoL) of survivors of critical illness. Methods: Subjects were 114 outpatients who had been discharged from intensive care units of a university hospital in B city, Korea. From July 30 through September 30, 2015, PICS was assessed using the Korean Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Hospital Anxiety-Depression Scale, Korean Instrumental/Activities of Daily Living (K-I/ADL) index, and handwriting transformation, while physical and mental health-related QoL was measured using the SF-12. Results: Of the subjects, 39.5% were screened for mild cognitive disorder and 23.7% experienced handwriting transformation after discharge. Multiple regression analysis revealed that restraint application, current job, time of ${\geq}36$ months after discharge, depression, anxiety, and handwriting transformation accounted for 40.9% of the physical health-related QoL, and depression, anxiety and experience of delirium accounted for 62.4% of the mental health-related QoL. Conclusions: It is necessary to make efforts to reduce restraint application in intensive care units and prevent the occurrence of delirium, with the objective of reducing PICS and improving the QoL of critical illness survivors.
