In this paper, a new nonlocal trigonometric shear deformation theory is proposed for thermal buckling response of nanosize functionally graded (FG) nano-plates resting on two-parameter elastic foundation under various types of thermal environments. This theory uses for the first time, undetermined integral variables and it contains only four unknowns, that is even less than the first shear deformation theory (FSDT). It is considered that the FG nano-plate is exposed to uniform, linear and sinusoidal temperature rises. Mori-Tanaka model is utilized to define the gradually variation of material properties along the plate thickness. Nonlocal elasticity theory of Eringen is employed to capture the size influences. Through the stationary potential energy the governing equations are derived for a refined nonlocal four-variable shear deformation plate theory and then solved analytically. A variety of examples is proposed to demonstrate the importance of elastic foundation parameters, various temperature fields, nonlocality, material composition, aspect and side-to-thickness ratios on critical stability temperatures of FG nano-plate.
In this research work, the hygrothermal and mechanical buckling responses of simply supported FG sandwich plate seated on Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundation are investigated using a novel shear deformation theory. The current model take into consideration the shear deformation effects and ensures the zero shear stresses on the free surfaces of the FG-sandwich plate without requiring the correction factors "Ks". The material properties of the faces sheets of the FG-sandwich plate are assumed varies as power law function "P-FGM" and the core is isotropic (purely ceramic). From the virtual work principle, the stability equations are deduced and resolved via Navier model. The hygrothermal effects are considered varies as a nonlinear, linear and uniform distribution across the thickness of the FG-sandwich plate. To check and confirm the accuracy of the current model, a several comparison has been made with other models found in the literature. The effects the temperature, moisture concentration, parameters of elastic foundation, side-to-thickness ratio, aspect ratio and the inhomogeneity parameter on the critical buckling of FG sandwich plates are also investigated.

In this paper, an efficient and simple trigonometric shear deformation theory is presented for thermal buckling analysis of functionally graded plates. It is assumed that the plate is in contact with elastic foundation during deformation. The theory accounts for sinusoidal distribution of transverse shear stress, and satisfies the free transverse shear stress conditions on the top and bottom surfaces of the plate without using shear correction factor. Unlike the conventional trigonometric shear deformation theory, the proposed sinusoidal shear deformation theory contains only four unknowns. It is assumed that the mechanical and thermal non-homogeneous properties of functionally graded plate vary smoothly by distribution of power law across the plate thickness. Using the non-linear strain-displacement relations, the equilibrium and stability equations of plates made of functionally graded materials are derived. The boundary conditions for the plate are assumed to be simply supported on all edges. The elastic foundation is modelled by two-parameters Pasternak model, which is obtained by adding a shear layer to the Winkler model. The effects of thermal loading types and variations of power of functionally graded material, aspect ratio, and thickness ratio on the critical buckling temperature of functionally graded plates are investigated and discussed.

This study investigates the theoretical thermal buckling analyses of thick porous rectangular functionally graded (FG) plates with different geometrical boundary conditions resting on a Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundation using a new higher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT). This new theory has only four unknowns and involves indeterminate integral variables in which no shear correction factor is required. The variation of material properties across the plate's thickness is considered continuous and varied following a simple power law as a function of volume fractions of the constituents. The effect of porosity with two different types of distribution is also included. The current formulation considers the Von Karman nonlinearity, and the stability equations are developed using the virtual works principle. The thermal gradients are involved and assumed to change across the FG plate's thickness according to nonlinear, linear, and uniform distributions. The accuracy of the newly proposed theory has been validated by comparing the present results with the results obtained from the previously published theories. The effects of porosity, boundary conditions, foundation parameters, power index, plate aspect ratio, and side-to-thickness ratio on the critical buckling temperature are studied and discussed in detail.

Thermal batteries are primary batteries that use molten salts as an electrolyte and employ an internal pyrotechnic source to heat the battery stack to operating temperatures, typically between 450 and $550^{\circ}C$. The unit cell of thermal batteries consists of an anode, an electrolyte, a cathode, a heat pellet and a current collector. The heat source for such batteries is typically heat pellets based on $Fe/KClO_4$. The elevated temperature by combustion of heat pellet is supposed to cause a flatness non-uniformity, buckling, with a lateral extension diameter of current collector. This paper mainly focused on the combustion and buckling model of current collector to simulate the effect of heat source. Mechanical stresses in the current collector caused by thermal stress is a critical design consideration of thermal batteries because the internal short circuit could be occurred.
The novelty of this work is the use of a new displacement field that includes undetermined integral terms for analyzing thermal buckling response of functionally graded (FG) sandwich plates. The proposed kinematic uses only four variables, which is even less than the first shear deformation theory (FSDT) and the conventional higher shear deformation theories (HSDTs). The theory considers a trigonometric variation of transverse shear stress and verifies the traction free boundary conditions without employing the shear correction factors. Material properties of the sandwich plate faces are considered to be graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power-law variation in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The core layer is still homogeneous and made of an isotropic material. The thermal loads are assumed as uniform, linear and non-linear temperature rises within the thickness direction. An energy based variational principle is employed to derive the governing equations as an eigenvalue problem. The validation of the present work is checked by comparing the obtained results the available ones in the literature. The influences of aspect and thickness ratios, material index, loading type, and sandwich plate type on the critical buckling are all discussed.
This paper investigates the free vibration of geometrically imperfect functionally graded car-bon nanotube-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) beams that are integrated with two sur-face-bonded piezoelectric layers and subjected to a combined action of a uniform temperature rise, a constant actuator voltage and an in-plane force. The material properties of FG-CNTRCs are assumed to be temperature-dependent and vary continuously across the thick-ness. A generic imperfection function is employed to simulate various possible imperfections with different shapes and locations in the beam. The governing equations that account for the influence of initial geometric imperfection are derived based on the first-order shear deformation theory. The postbuckling configurations of FG-CNTRC hybrid beams are determined by the differential quadrature method combined with the modified Newton-Raphson technique, after which the fundamental frequencies of hybrid beams in the postbuckled state are obtained by a standard eigenvalue algorithm. The effects of CNT distribution pattern and volume fraction, geometric imperfection, thermo-electro-mechanical load, as well as boundary condition are examined in detail through parametric studies. The results show that the fundamental frequency of an imperfect beam is higher than that of its perfect counterpart. The influence of geometric imperfection tends to be much more pronounced around the critical buckling temperature.
This paper develops a nonlocal strain gradient plate model for vibration analysis of graphene sheets under thermal environments. For more accurate analysis of graphene sheets, the proposed theory contains two scale parameters related to the nonlocal and strain gradient effects. Graphene sheet is modeled via a two-variable shear deformation plate theory needless of shear correction factors. Governing equations of a nonlocal strain gradient graphene sheet on elastic substrate are derived via Hamilton's principle. Differential quadrature method (DQM) is implemented to solve the governing equations for different boundary conditions. Effects of different factors such as temperature rise, nonlocal parameter, length scale parameter, elastic foundation and aspect ratio on vibration characteristics a graphene sheets are studied. It is seen that vibration frequencies and critical buckling temperatures become larger and smaller with increase of strain gradient and nonlocal parameter, respectively.
In thisstudy, the vibration problem ofthermo elastic carbon nanotubes conveying pulsating viscous nano fluid subjected to a longitudinal magnetic field is investigated via Euler-Bernoulli beam model. The controlling partial differential equation of motion is arrived by adopting Eringen's non local theory. The instability domain and pulsation frequency of the CNT is obtained through the Galerkin's method. The numerical evaluation of thisstudy is devised by Haar wavelet method (HWM). Then, the proposed model is validated by analyzing the critical buckling load computed in presentstudy with the literature. Finally, the numerical calculation ofsystem parameters are shown as dispersion graphs and tables over non local parameter, magnetic flux, temperature difference, Knudsen number and viscous parameter.
In this paper, we will analyse the thermo-elastic behavior of the plate element of a structure arranged in a climatically aggressive environment (extreme temperature), we use a refined four-variable thick plate theory to take the shear effect into consideration, the proposed theory less computationally expensive and more accurate so that it incorporates the shear effect into the formulation. The plate is assumed to be simply supported on its four edges, so exact (closed-form) solutions are found according to the Navier expansion, and the governing stability equations and associated boundary conditions of the problem are obtained via the virtual works principle. The plate studied ismade of laminated composite materials, so a parametric study is needed to see the effect of different types of parameters and coupling on the critical temperature value causing thermo-elastic instability of the plate and also on the natural frequency of free vibration, as well as for other parameters such as anisotropy, slenderness and aspect ratio of the plate and finally the lamination angle. Numerical results are obtained for specially orthotropic and antisymmetrical plates and are compared with those obtained by othertheoriesin the literature to validate the analysis approach used.
